  If you're like me and wondering how to start the DLC of Dead Space 3, you need to start *new game +* and select the option where you keep all your gear. From there find the DLC option and start Awakened. Personally? The DLC is too short. I liked the story and ending though but to each their own.

  has the real ending to dead space packed in a 5 dollar 2-3 hour dlc. additionally f*ck EA for rushing visceral to make this game and demanding that they sell 5 million copies when you forced them to make a lesser game and stuff it with dlc F*ck you EA you killed my favorite fracnhise and an amazing game studio. but about the dlc its much more like the first 2 games rather than this one and has psychological horror but its so short lived and makes you wonder how much potential this game had (even though its some of the most fun ive had and i love this game) and rip to dead space 4 it sounded fucking amazing....only but this dlc if you really like the game

  [b][url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1238070/]Awakened[/url][/b] is a short three-chapter finale to conclude [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1238060/]Dead Space 3[/url], and possibly the series. It picks up right where Dead Space 3 left off, with Isaac Clarke and John Carver on the surface of Tau Volantis, putting you in their shoes as they try to escape and return home to Earth. The levels and situations are just as you would expect with the Dead Space series, and the psychological horror elements are quite powerful in these chapters, especially in chapter 2 and 3. Even though Awakened clears up things surrounding the ending of Dead Space 3, it raises other questions, and ends on a potential cliff-hanger. With that said though, Awakened offers a much more satisfying ending than the base game provided. I hope another instalment of Dead Space comes out to finalize the story, either as a video game, or a movie, to bring full definitive closure to this series. But if not, it's not too hard to let the series rest as a tragic tale with these final chapters, and its lovecraftian end. I strongly recommend you play Awakened if you're a fan of the Dead Space series, or want to see the best ending of Dead Space 3! [h1]9/10[/h1]

  As others have warned: DO NOT BUY. As someone that broke down and bought the game YEARS later, it was bittersweet to beat the game. But beating the DLC not only soured the mediocre 3rd entry, but tainted the cumulative experience of all previous games. SPOILERS TO FOLLOW: The final entry of DS3 has you finally crush the Necromorph "hive mind", breaking the psychic link between the necromorph "mega masses" and the markers. While smelling of Michael Bay-esque hullabaloo at the end, DS3 concludes the saga definitively. Slimy, yet satisfying. The DLC decides to exhume the corpse, fill it with feces, then nail it to your front door. It undoes anything Isaac previously survived through, and blatantly reuses entire segments of the original game to cheaply portray a story about how you, in fact, didn't succeed at anything. I'll summarize the DLC thusly: 1) How did we survive? We must escape. 2) We can't escape, we need hyperspace. 3) Crazy cult! Hyperspace will lead megamorphs to earth! 4) Cult leader dead, megamorphs know anyway! To earth! 5) Oh no they're here already. There. As you can see, since the things are at earth already, nothing you ever did mattered. So, I say, stop at the DS3 ending and acknowledge that, while saccharine, the final chapter is just that. All this DLC builds is a cash-in to DS4, but since that's not happening it's a slap in the face to the fans.

  Congratulations you've beat the mediocre and unrewarding Dead Space 3. But surprise surprise, the writers actually got some talent back and decided to add something that wasn't a complete sell-out. If you want to be more disappointed at what the game could have been, or how much more clever the writing could be, then try this out.

  Honestly you should only buy this DLC if you really liked the base game and were interested in seeing the extremely depressing and abysmal end of the franchise before the reboot was announced almost 10 years later. The DLC is about 2-3 hours of content depending on what difficulty you play on. Weirdly enough while Carver did have his own arc in the original game, he gets an even more sarcastic and humorous personality in "Awakening" and listening to his dialogue was the main positive for me just because of how goofy it was. For the most part the game is just a rehash of going around the Terra Nova in the original title but with some new background scenery to make it scarier. Overall it does inject a lot of the psychological horror back into Dead Space 3 that the original title lacked. The ending is sudden and extremely depressing and I was so baffled I laughed out loud after witnessing it. TLDR: Only buy if it is on sale and you really liked the original game enough to want some more content and missed the horror aspects of Dead Space 1. The Ending is hilariously awful and the banter between Isaac and Carver is the highlight.

  If you liked the base game, you'll probably like this even though it feels entirely unnecessary. Not sure why this isn't included with the base game at this point.

  This DLC is totally unnecessary and should've been in the main game or at least as a free dlc, It is extremely short. if you still want to know what happens after the main ending just go and watch on youtube. its another clifhanger anyways.
