  The game, in concept, is fun. It's a simple party game with various characters from both dark deception and willing crossovers. However, I have been following this game for 7 months, and Glowstick has failed to deliver. The gameplay, although somewhat unique, gets boring quickly, and with a selection of only 7 maps (2 of which being dlc, one no longer available) and 3 gamemodes creates a stale experience. Additionally, Glowstick's unreliability results in promises they cant keep, becoming overambitious and attempting to force impossible deadlines and unreasonable amounts of dlc. Out of the 9-10 dlc they have confirmed, only 3 have been actually complete, with 2 being well over the deadline they promised. When the people on their discord started to speak about this, Glowstick started throwing bans, even banning their whole mod team and eventually deleting the monsters and mortals discord server. There are even cases of individuals being blocked on Glowstick's twitter after bringing up their inability to stick to deadlines. This is ridiculous, and is all the more funny that they are making the yandere sim dlc since Vince and Yanderedev are so alike; Incapable of keeping promises and banning anyone who says things they don't like. And don't get me started on the bugs. There have been game-breaking and game-ruining bugs in the game for months and they have done nothing to fix it. players not respawning or becoming invincible, abilities not working at all, not gaining levels after winning, all bugs that should have been fixed a long time ago that aren't being fixed at all. Furthermore, the game has an average of TWENTY players on steam. This, obviously, makes finding games really hard, as the servers are region locked and lobbies are 6 players. And then, once these players finally enter a game, they tend to leave soon after joining which makes consistently full games nearly impossible to find. Lastly, most of the characters are unbalanced. Characters that are far too strong or weak, some character's abilities don't even work at all. tldr: unreliable devs, stale repetitive gameplay, dlc reliant, buggy, hacker problem, near impossible to find games, unbalanced. do not buy.

  I'll just start by saying I'm extremely dissappointed with this purchase. There is a lot to go over with this "game" but I'll start with the parts I actually like: - There is an interesting concept here with a fun spin on the original game. - The characters seem fun in concept. -'Boss Time' is a way of slowing down both monsters and mortals by placing an unkillable NPC somewhere on the map, which I find clever. That's it, that's all the pros. Now for the cons, oh boy the cons: - The game is extremely buggy and freezes easily, especially in loading screens. I have to tab out of the game to close it when this happens as the game doesn't even give you the courtesy of crashing properly. according to what I've read, these bugs have been in the game for two YEARS now with no sign of change. It's like alpha testing a game but instead of the developers paying you for your time you have to pay them to try to play their buggy mess. - The playable characters are extremely unbalanced in health and damage, some characters easy to kill, other characters completely impossible. Some human characters have the power of healing themselves and others, which, combined with other characters' power of temporary invincibility and enemy stun (rendering the victim completely immobile and unable to attack for several seconds) makes for extremely toxic gameplay, making the supposed hunters into the hunted. One character has the power to literally kill anyone instantly, another to teleport across the map and back, killing the player with the least health instantly with no risk to themself. There is no way to avoid this attack. This matched against a power that just makes you run a little bit faster is nothing short of absolutely unacceptable. - Some characters on certain maps literally cannot be played properly. Remember Boss Time? On one of the maps themed around a preschool the boss is actually split into 26 different NPCs, all of which unkillable and faster than some characters. Let me rephrase that: you can't outrun them, they will ALWAYS catch up to you and kill you, likely more than once as they stay on the map for enough time for you to respawn several times. Specifically until they've finished singing their song. - The aforementioned 26 bosses all sing the least clever horror-y childrens song I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of them. They sing the entire alphabet song only changing the "sing with me" at the end to "die with me". This one really isn't that big of a deal but as a horror fan I find it necessary to mention nonetheless. It's simply lazy writing. - The game features seven maps in total, two of which are DLC and one of which having been removed. In short there's only four playable maps in the base game. - I've only played the Silent Hill map once and it was absolutely horrendous. It was nothing more than a cheap replica of the Silent Hill we've come to know and love. There's nothing to do or see and it can only be described as barren. Frankly it's unfair to even compare the two, an insult to a great game. - The average player count per day is extremely low and it makes it nearly impossible to find a match. Not to mention that on top of the low player count the matchmaking is also locked to the region you're in. You see 50 players over in another region? Well you still won't be able to play the game until you find five more people where you are.Over the three hours i spent on this game, desperately hoping for just an ounce of fun, about 80% of that time was spent matchmaking. This is not an exaggeration. - The only way to level up your character and get matched with higher ranking players is to win matches. After winning about five matches, two of which with the highest score of all players I still have no wins to my name. This has left me unable to level up. - There are only three game modes, two of which are actually entertaining, the third leaving at least one player with little to do and no reward. The game mode is like a game of Infection, except awful. Instead of one player needing to turn the other team to their side, RNG does it for them at random intervals, meaning the "zombie" literally doesn't have to do anything. Once you become a "zombie" you can no longer score points in any way. On top of that, a portion of the points you already had are removed. - The player hitboxes are nearly non-existant. More times than I care to remember I've been all but making out with an enemy player while unable to hit them with a basic melee attack. You can also walk through other players making combat extremely annoying for everyone involved. Combine this with the severly unbalanced powers the players have and you WILL have a bad time. - The developers of the game allegedly used to have a discord server where they would ban anyone who talked badly about the game or about these unreasonable bans, including their ENTIRE moderation team. After banning so many people, the server was shut down. I didn't see any of this myself but I have no trouble believing it since one of the developers' new partner is Yandere Dev, who I know has done the same thing before and more. I've also seen bad reviews on this game get written off as "fake" by the developers. - The game is heavily DLC-reliant despite having very little content in the base game. The developers also have the gall to charge more for said DLC than the game itself, despite adding even less into the game than what was actually there to begin with. In conclusion, this game is hot garbage. It doesn't matter how much you try to sugarcoat it, the game is one of the worst I have ever had the displeasure of wasting my money and limited time in this world on. I bought this game so that you don't have to. I wouldn't keep playing this monstrosity if I was gifted all DLC by the developers and reimbursed 20000%. Final judgement: 1/10 - not worth considering.

  I was thirsty so I went perusing my favorite drink shop, the Steam store. To my dismay there was no mead, moscato or marzens in stock, so I thought perhaps an energy drink. Unfortunately I didn't find any mango loco on this storefront but I did find a new interesting-looking flavor to try out! So I ordered a nice fresh can of Monster: Dark Deception & Mortals to quench my thirst and sate my caffeine addiction for the day. It was an interesting flavor to say the least, and I swore I could hear the blood-curdling screams of children in the background as strange men with googly eyes whispered at me from my screen as I drank. After about twenty minutes later I realized, my thirst had not been quenched yet and I was unfortunately all out. That's when I made the startling discovery. I hadn't purchased an energy drink! This was a video game! The entire time I was playing a horror game, but it just looked so much like what I wanted! To sate my dry throat, I went to the gas station by me and bought a Bang.
