  I will change this review once the game is in a better state. It has great potential! It's just not ready yet I'm afraid. Physics are glitchy, weapons feel uncomfortable and overall combat feels very buggy and unresponsive. The music is pure trash and kills the immersion I couldn't find a way to turn it off but maybe you can do that? Overall I'd wait for a few updates before buying the game I just personally found it to be unplayable. (NOTE: I was playing on a Valve Index).

  I've been really looking forward to this game for a while now but I cannot currently recommend it. I know it's early access but this game isn't all that close to finished... I will change this review if they make the game playable because in it's current state it is not...

  Feels a little clunky and the music makes me wish for death. Will say though that artstyle is fire.

  I hope the version I played on was the old one somehow even though the dev mentioned releasing the correct version because I have had this game wishlisted for months and been very excited for this game to discover a buggy and unrefined game I believe is not quite ready for the store yet. No hate to the creator whatsoever I still support you and your platform but if this is the finished version I highly suggest you take it off early release until its a bit more stable. Some things I experienced (AORUS 3070, AMD ryzen 7 3800x) - <10 frames inside the dojo - very glitch and buggy swordplay - loss of audio and functionality from the NPCs - several other things

  THE CORRECT BUILD HAS BEEN UPLOADED AS PER THE ANNOUNCEMENT! Like many others in the reviews I have been following this game's progress for a long time. Was against picking it up after seeing mostly negative, but after reading the problems and then seeing the announcement it all clicked. First impressions so far is that it's a bit janky, and using the weapons feels a bit wrong atm because of the locked hand angle (Definitely need an option for that in an VR melee fighting game) and weird hitboxes. The world is also pretty empty and it's easy to lose your way because of that. (Please adjust the over the shoulder stuff aswell, I might be too short or something but i always struggle to get it first time) On the good side, the gore and colour against the art style looks really good and I wasn't expecting more weapon options so I'm looking forward to trying those. Huge plus for being able to just YEET the demon buddy to access the menu, I just wish i was told that earlier instead of being told after getting into the dojo. With some good feedback and a lot of smoothing out of some mechanics I can see this being a super solid VR melee combat game.

  I have played the first published version and the new one. The first version left me feeling disappointed but the latest version is much better, it has much better combat and story. I haven't played enough to leave a full review but i will update when i have.

  Before I bought this game I had seen negative reviews, so my expectations were fairly low. However, I was not prepared to this. Guys, this is the junkiest game I have ever seen in my entire gaming life. This game plays like if it was a student project for university A single texture wrapped around the map, extremely annoying music you can not turn off, katana is flying away when you try to release it and, what is the most important for sword-fighting game - extremely bad combat system. First of all, you don't feel strike impact due to extremely loud music and weak enemy reactions. Second, damage system is just bad - if you don't mutilate your enemy, he will be covered in bloody trails and this is just breaks immersion because of how unnatural it looks. And yes, I mean it - bloody trails, not bloody stains, because it looks like this. Honestly, I would prefer that this game would not have damage system instead of having it in the form it was done. And finally, the third point against combat system is just how stupid enemy AI is. It's some CS bots stupidness level, to be honest. So in the end fighting is just balancing on the verge of being boring and frustrating due to the bugs and bad mechanics So, all in all, this game does not worth your time and money. Honestly, beside those points I mentioned above, the game just feels extremely shallow and lifeless, so if all the problems will be solved - it would be just entirely new game.

  As others have said, the dev screwed up by releasing a year-old build instead of the current one, so several negative day 1 reviews do not accurately reflect the quality of the game. Seeing as everything was a mistake, and the finished game (in my opinion) is actually very well put together and well optimized, I can only hope those reviews get amended. The art style is the strongest aspect, but the actual gameplay/swordplay isnt too shabby either. There is a wee bit of jank here and there, such as unsheathing your katana can sometimes be more trouble than it should be, swinging your blade 2 handed doesnt always connect with where it should, and the environments, while very pretty in a Chinese ink style much like the scrolls they make as artwork, are really quite empty-feeling. Too much space to navigate without anything to interact with. You have a demon on your shoulder that you physically throw to access the options which is kinda fresh and quirky. I see some influence here from Animes such as Ninja Scroll with the whole protect the village narrative, but also Kill Bill with the art style, music, and over-the-top slicing of enemies into little bits. Give it some time, and this could really be something.

  I've been following this game's development for a while on Twitter and was excited to try it out. But it needs a lot of work. Firstly, I didn't like how slowly the character moves and I don't like relying on the teleport to get around quickly. Its really unruly and not great for melee combat. Also the game doesn't tell you this at all, but there's kind of a super hot thing going on here. Time slows down when you stop moving, so you can preform more complex actions but combat is extremely buggy so it just doesn't work. Cleaving through enemies is cool, but more often than not enemies will bug out and ruin the feeling of actually fighting. And I know it's trying to make you be mindful of your surroundings, but please tone down the weapons getting stuck in the walls and floors. It's really awkward trying to pull them free. And they can get stuck in really awful places. The melee weapons don't store anywhere on your body to my knowledge so you'll have to hold onto them which is really uncomfortable. And it makes using other items like ninja stars clumsy. The music is absolutely blasting when you first boot up the game and even after turning it down it completely ruins any sense of immersion you might want to feel. I think this game has potential, but you should stay away for the moment.

  So I've played a little bit and I LOVE the art style. The combat is almost perfect, the only thing that should be added soon is an arm length toggle! I'm afraid my arms are too short for the player model so it makes handling my weapon a bit more difficult. With that said I'd still recommend the game, I had a lot of fun! Edit: Turns out the initial launch was the wrong build! Now that it's the right one my one issue has been fixed! I've been looking for a game with fun combat and a world/towns to explore, this game has done this and I'm very grateful! This game is fun, nuff said.
