  This game is shit. Also you can't even refund regardless of how little time you've played because the developer has made it so the base game is "free" but the bundle you HAVE TO purchase is including DLC so that's what costs you money and you are unable to refund the game... Real C*nt move from the developers. Won't be buying any other games made by Gameloft.

  Wait for this to go free-to-play if you really want to try this. The gameplay is great, and while the ranked multiplayer mode is probably pay-to-win, the regulated multiplayer mode thankfully isn't. Sadly, the confusing menus, microtransactions, multiple in-game currencies and grind really bog down the overall experience.

  The way they have set up this download is intended to scam people. You cannot request a refund because the game is "free" but requires a non-refundable DLC to play it. Steam will not refund you for a DLC. This should be unacceptable, but they refuse to help when I contacted them. This game is boring, and now I'm stuck with it and unable to get a refund. The other platform beginning with E lets you refund... buy it there instead!

  Overall

  Do you really like combat racers like Mario Kart? Are you really, really good at them? Then this is a hard "Maybe". The gameplay is absolutely solid. Driving feels mechanically responsive and the controls are good. The music features several catching remixes of the Disney library. The graphics are crisp and clean.

  The Problems:

  The game is clearly paving the way to be a traditional Gameloft coin-operated game experience. Multiple currencies, a needless upgrade system with it's own currency system that ensures any progression you may is diluted across all the possible racer combinations that you might not even have yet. Regulated Multiplayer is an excellent experience. All players are on the same footing. It's a real show of what the game could be. It rewards only cosmetics. Ranked Multiplayer contains the main progression methods outside of Single-Player content. It is a show of what the game WILL be. Item power efficacy, and even just accessibility to items powers to begin with are governed by an inane Racer Level system that can only be raised by casino rolls. A level 1 racer doesn't have their full kit. A level 5 racer has abilities that last longer, hit harder or faster, and are simply more effective. This could be accepted as a modern progression system if the progression was equally accessible, however the ranking system to date confuses the community and is largely unapproachable; not even having a basic MMR setup. As a result, for most players, the only way to realistically progress your imaginary stats and unlocks is through... Single-player isn't even good or bad. It's just straight deceptive. Each single player race has a "Recommended Level". When you begin a single-player race, the game assigns a finishing pole position to the player and bots. The bots will do whatever is necessary to maintain that position. This means if you do not meet the Recommended level, you will be assigned a position under first place. The bot(s) assigned to 'beat' you will simply increase their base speed infinitely until they are ahead of you, and often even become invulnerable to items. The inverse is true. If you are at the Recommended level, the bots will intentionally sabotage themselves if they are going to win. You will witness wonderful comedy in the last 20 seconds of every race as the formerly flawless 1st place bot irrecoverably slams his face into a wall and stays there until you pass him. Or as every other racer on the map sudden has their top speed cut in half on the last lap. This would just add up to being a comical checkbox exercise except that you constantly hit walls in progression where if you can't hit the magic number required to play; there is no actual way to win the race to unlock the next steps because the bots can and actually will just teleport in front of you if they have to to ensure your unworthy upgrade number is punished. --------- Ultimately, the base game is solid and could become something legitimately fun; however it's clear by some very core design choices that that is likely not the direction that this is going.

  A good racing game bogged down with Gacha-mechanics and terrible rubber-banding, stay away unless they fix it. Cannot recommend right now. Will update review if they improve it.

  PARENTS AVOID GETTING YOUR CHILDREN THIS GAME! This game is overall very enjoyable BUT it is 100% pay to win. Even with it going free to play in a few months, the predatory practices alone should scare people. The fact that the top founders pack ($70) doesn't include founders skins/karts for all characters and they encourage you to "stack them" to get all the characters rewards/racer unlocks is a MASSIVE RED FLAG. This is monetized worse than GL's mobile game- Disney Magic Kingdoms- and Disney Dreamlight Valley combined and the store prices are ABSURD. Please just wait for free to play if anything. Even as a content creator, I CANNOT recommend this game to players, even if it is enjoyable outside the Predatory Pay to Win. The game is added to your account / distributed as DLC, so 0 chance at refunds (they know how to get and keep their money, that's for sure.)

  Absolute travesty of a game. The actual racing mechanics are serviceable. But Gameloft's approach to how to unlock everything and progress is disgusting. TLDR: This game is absolutely terrible. Slow af unlocks, terrible decisions on how to unlock things, punishes players who didn't play from day 1, and well its way to the graveyard as a dead game. F2P will make all these issues even worse. Let me be clear, if you didn't buy this game at launch and play consistently from launch, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. You will lag so far behind everyone else it wont even be worth trying. Considering how much stuff needs to be unlocked via timed leaderboards against other players, there's virtually no chance if you start playing now that you're gonna be able to compete with anyone. Unlocking new things from boxes is a joke. Costs 10k seasonal coins per box, you get 3 items per box and more than likely you're gonna get 1 of each item. E.g. You might get 1 Mowgli shard (needs 10 for unlock) 1 Kaa Shard (needs 10 for an unlock) and 1 Baloo shard (needs 10 for unlock). Considering how long it takes to get 10k coins and just how many things there actually are to unlock, the chances of you unlocking ANYTHING are horrifically slim. In short, even when this game goes f2p, don't bother wasting your time and bandwidth downloading this game. It's already on its way to the graveyard with its pathetically low steam player-base. Going f2p isn't going to fix that, more likely it will exasperate the issue with its predatory monetisation that you can bet is on its way.

  Fun game sadly the pay to win is the highest if ever seen in a game thats why im not recommending it. after 300hrs on steam and having spend 100 euros only for the first season i can tell you its not worth it. if you want to compete in this game (ranked gamemode) you will need to bring a load of money with that. if casual gaming is your thing then this is still possible in the more casual gamemode of the game. all in all skip the game and save your money for better things in life

  DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, any thing over standard edition can not be refunded and the devs have resorted to stealing money to sell this crap game. The game is good, racing feels good but i mean wtf is this locking stuff behind pay walls?? Like you can buy a certain number of drivers which you gain by what edition you bought, but you also have to unlock them in game before this is possible. Then add in you can make your cart or vehicle faster but this also takes currency?? What a huge letdown and cashgrab by the devs.. wanna charge people to steer the vehicle right instead of left next? Or where iss the option to just take money out my account for every minute i play?? This should be a sueable offense, what kinda sketchy devs/publishers list a game then resort to not refunding it when a person dislikes their game?? I wish the same karma for the devs/publishers that people steal money from them for a pile of shit.
