  Hard as nails on Samurai difficulty. The action flows pretty seamlessly. Aku is awesome. The way it should be.

  TL;DR: Unreal engine Platformer with Arkham style fights. Gameplay is 5-8 hours depending on how you play. (roughly 7.5 for me on one blind playthrough.) The Game takes place during the time portal transfer of the last episode of the series. Jack gets FLUNG (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!) back to play through some of his old adventures. [h1]Pros[/h1] -Solid Arkham style gameplay. (with mediocre platforming.) -Great 3D work on the Characters -Original Voice Actors -Original Animated Cutscenes, includes some from the show. -Fans of the series will play and beat it in one sitting. (ahh, a Pro that's a Con) -Ranking system and challenge levels after you finish the game [h1]Cons[/h1] -Level graphics could use some work. -Non Fans won't be able to justify the price. -LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE! You fight the western guy and his wife on a train WITHOUT a Quickdraw McGraw reference, AND not once is the restraining order mentioned! 150 FEET WOMAN! 150 FEET! -Short: Fans of the series will play and beat it in one sitting. and so will everyone else. -No Jack is a Chicken level. -Replayability isn't a factor, you'll pick it up maybe a year later for a trip down memory lane. -Only some dialogue is spoken.

  I really REALLY want to recommend this, but $40 is far too much for a game that's about 5 hours long and having tons of questionable design such as weapon durability for everything except for your two best weapons (unarmed and the sword). I'd say the game is worth $20 or maybe $30, but not $40. Yes there's replaying the game on higher difficulties and the missions but that's all that's left to do. What little plot there exists is minimal as the game ends up being a detour to the actual plot of the show. Really doesn't help that the game's description lies as all your allies do is occasionally give you an item (healing item, a weapon you'll probably never use, or an upgrade material), run a shop, and help in one cutscene. Game is a fine DMC-like game but not $40 worth to me.

  I completed the story and have been thoroughly entertained. I expected the worst for this game, but 5 minutes into the game I had the sudden feeling like I've played this gameplay slightly before: Ninja Gaiden (Xbox). Completing the game showed me the credits to see that Ehara was in charge of the gameplay design and mechanics. For those who don't know who Ehara is, he was Itagaki's right-hand man during their time at Team NINJA - including the rebooted Ninja Gaiden series. Tomonobu Itagaki is also credited as basically a consultant in the credits as well. The game seems to carry your stats throughout playthroughs. Because of this, I highly recommend not starting on a difficulty higher than the default to get used to the difficulty ramping by the end of the first playthrough. I've had friends tell me the hit detection and game mechanics feel terrible at Hard difficulty which is how they started. However, maybe because I'm used to Ninja Gaiden, I didn't get any of that feeling at all. I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying this game.
