Why the F*** do i keep buying these games? It's exactly the same game from 19, 20, 21. The graphics are the same. There's cut content like the classic bikes and riders from previous games, which i bet will be added as DLC. The ride model is a bit better than the slide fest that was 21. So that's a plus. The ONLY thing you get for your 60ish bucks is 22 skins for the riders and bikes. And new track layouts for the current season. DO NOT BUY, wait for a massive mid summer sale. It's an absolute ripoff.

I had high hopes for this game. At first I totally hated the new braking/steering physics, but after a while it was really satisfying to control the bike. So that's a nice improvement. When you make contact with another bike, you don't stick to them like in 21, another nice improvement. There are no 2022 bikes in the game at launch. So if you want to play the career mode, you can stick to last year's game. It's basically the same thing. The 09 season is a great addition, but if you want to play an 09 championship mode, you only have the championship standings for the riders but no standings for the teams and constructors? Hope this gets updated. Other than that its disappointing how little has changed from the last game. If you really want it, wait for a sale.

It may be too early to give recomendation so I may remove this review later or change it to "not recommend" but I want to adress some misinformations seen in other reviews. It looks like most of historic content from previous part is still there. It may look like some classic bikes and skins are missing but that's because all 2009 bikes are now in new 2009 category, including additional, special liveries used by riders during that season. And if you are wondering what I was wondering - yes, whole 2009 grid is available outside of story mode, NINE but most of riders and liveries ar unlockable by completing chapters of NINE mode. That means there are quite a few completely new bikes, riders and liveries. NINE documentary videos look really good, at least the beginning. It's intro with history of Rossi's career and introduction of his opponents, including quick summary of 2007 and 2008 seasons was very captivating. Apart from Mandalica circuit there are also historic tracks used in 2009 season, that mean Brno, Laguna Seca, Estoril and Indianapolis (Estoril and Indy was not included in 20 and 21) are also in this game. Tracks from 2022 season unfortunatelly have the same layout in 2009 challenges. So that means 3 new (or returning after some time) tracks and new Austrian layout. Graphics look much better, although my PC is not good enough to play on max settings. Menu looks better, more modern, with 3D models of bikes and riders instead of flat pictures but buttons and general layout is very similar, especially before and after races. Rider faces look much better now, some are not as similar to real guys as expected but other look really good. Riding model feels good, challenging but rewarding and more intuitive than last years. For noobs like me, there are no joint brakes in this years version (or hard to find) but it's easy and fun to learn how to use both brakes. Ride height device is now present in the game with automatic and manual mode. Which is fun and more realistic addition. What is REALLY, REALLY BAD, but I hope it will be patched as soon as possible, is that current MotoGP bike models are not up to date! It's obvious on the first glance with Honda. Despite showing new bike on Steam graphic, in game there still is 2021 model. I think others are also not correct ones... It must be updated as a priority or it would be a big no. I don't know why it is not there on the premiere.

Review after three patches: First of all game is more like a patch to GP21 than new title - it is missing new features yet it costs full price which is not low. Lots of things are copy paste from past year (also those bad and broken). Physics still feel scripted so bike behaves as designed in particular situations instead to react dynamically to player input and environment around. To be clear, game is nice to play (however player will need time to adopt to new physics) has few great improvements but thats not enough to say „buy it”. What I mostly like and what is the best about MotoGP22 is slightly improved physics, better curbs, added tire flex and less sliding of rear tires. Thats all what makes me happy about GP22. What I do not like is lack of new important features, lack of attention to details, many outdated elements that are the same for past few years, excessive front tyre grip and walkarounds in physics coding to make things work (stuck RPM when rear lifts up to prevent rear slides or excessive RPM change for tire circumference simulation). POSITIVE: - improved physics with more direct handling, less sliding, less understeer in the middle of corner. Better tire balance, compound difference, grip and life. More predicatble stoppies. In general bikes feel better and are more fun. Much better wet weather grip simulation. - remade track surfaces with less bumps - improved graphics with better colors, 3d faces, more details added to track (safety lights) - ride height device - one physics model but with lots of assists to choose from - improved 3d face models - 2009 season with events to play - academy mode and ride analysis for new players which will help to leanr the game - few new animations - customisation of helmet, bikes, leathers NEGATIVES: - brakes still feel powerless and braking feels like it takes forever. However, unlike front brake, rear one feels it has a lot of power because it does not lock rear wheel in most situation making rear brake unrealistically useful in pair with front brake. - scripted physics to make bikes work as expected not to react to players dynamic input - various physics walkarounds to hide inaccuracies or problems like stuck engine RPM when rear is in the air to prevent slideouts, excessive front tyre grip in full lean where you can use full brake in pro settings, artificial rider automatically prevents crashes in some cases so even if you turn TC off, its hard to crash unless you slam brake or throttle. - game is focused on casual players, newcomers, chase cam (3rd person perspective) players and do not offer anything interesting for advanced players or helmet cam players - bad helmet camera (same for past years) - still the same bike sounds (outdated and broken) - missing pitboard for Misano - many unfinished and bad looking elements: some faces of mechanics look bad, rain effect in helmet cam is static not immersive, broken bike dashboards with RPM gauge and rev lights that do not match engine RPM sound (engine RPM still rising but on dashboard rev lights and gauge shows it has reached its maximum) - no possibility to turn off TC and AW (Set TC and AW to 0) in any class - no telemetry - copy paste career - unrealistic rear brake (in full lean you can use full power without locking rear wheel what gives unrealistic advantage) - broken engine brake simulation (bike easily locks rear when downshifting quickly but then RPM fall down slowly) - but most of all no new features that will push the game to another level of realism, that is no dynamic weather or variable temperatures. Every race has the same conditions in one session or race. No tire pressures. - no new options for multiplayer to eliminate player that ride in unclear way having fun frondestrying others races. - unstable multiplayer connections with lag and teleportations I will say it once again. Game is fun, enjoyable to ride and play but feels incomplete and unintuitive due to various physics walkarounds which make the game unrealistic in some aspects. It feels rushed and missing crucial features that will advance the game to new level (dynamic weather or at least temperatures), telemetry, tire pressures.

Still no way to use the first person helmet cam that is available for replay only. So annoying and the 2nd year in a row I will be returning the game. Why cant they just allow that camera angle as an option????????? They never respond to inquires on their website or social media, but charge $50 for the game. Very unfortunate and disappointing.

Best version in years, braking feels much better than 2021. Corner entry feels a little harder to master this year. Yes its very similar to last year and the year before but what the hell are people expecting, its the same tracks ( albeit with a new one and some new configurations) different skinned bikes and then some fluff mode to pad the game out. If you are not a MotoGP fan just dont buy it, If you are, know what to expect and buy it, best version yet!

F1 player here and only played F1 titles until this game. Needed a game to fill the gap till F122 drops and enjoying this game a ton. Took me a few hours to get a feel for how the bikes control but i wish F1 titles had career modes as flesh out as this games is.

It's surprisingly hard to find any reviews that would mention the actual differences in the physics comparing to the previous game. The few videos on YouTube and posts on Reddit don't really go into detail as everyone just says that they're "different", however no-one explains how. I'll try shed some light on the things I personally noticed. Remember how you couldn't brake without the rear wheel lifting up all the time in the previous game? Well, surprise, surprise, that issue is still present, if not more prevalent. I just finished doing a few laps at Mugello and Aragon and in those spots where you have to do downhill braking it's almost impossible to stop without going over your front wheel (unless you start braking unreasonably early) because your rear wheel lifts up by half a meter as soon as you touch your brake, which means you have to let the brake go, wait for the rear wheel to drop down, start braking again and by that time you're already in the gravel or off the track. It was hard to take those turns in MotoGP 21, it's even harder in this game. The issue is compounded by another change to the physics this year, which is a total inability to turn your bike while you're braking. As in completely! Imagine slowing down for the first turn at Mugello, pushing your left stick to the right when you want to turn and just continuing to go straight because the game thinks that that's how real bikes work. I ride bikes in real life and I've raced superbikes on a race track and I can tell you that's not how they behave. This is probably the biggest change to this year's game (as the rest of the game is pretty much the same) and it will take a long period of adaptation for most yet again. I don't really understand why they keep completely revamping physics every year and why they can't just settle on something that works, something that people are used to and simply improve it. As it stands it's completely different, however, I wouldn't say better. Another thing that I noticed straight away is that the front wheel sure does like to fold whenever you're trying to brake while turning. Like not once in a while but it's more like a trigger - if you have your front brake on and you're trying to turn expect it to just lock and force a lowside (and a rewind). Realistic to an extent because in real life you obviously can't brake too hard while turning as it locks the wheel and loses grip but the problem with this game is that you can't brake and turn at all. Makes riding so much harder than it should be. Overall, ignoring the braking issues, the bike's behavior feels slightly better, like 5-10% better. It's not vastly different from the previous game but the whole riding experience feels more enjoyable and the bike seems to flow left and right a bit more realistically. If they could fix the braking issues I would say this game is better than MotoGP 21 but as it stands it's a "definitely wait for sale". The changes this game contains are absolutely not worth the £40. £10-15 maybe but you're not really getting anything apart from a few new bike models and the 9 mode, which I'm personally not too fussed about. As for some positives - the stupid AI we had last year is fixed and they are no longer super slow on straights and super fast in turns on lower difficulties. They are now rather consistent and it makes such a massive difference to the whole enjoyment. They also seem to be a bit quicker as last year I could keep up with them at 90-100% difficulty yet I was struggling at 85% in the latest edition. Graphics are about the same as before, menus are same but different and we have longer intro videos that you can't skip. Yay! TL;DR A decent game with some minor improvements and big changes to the physics (not necessarily good ones) that are not worth the full price tag. WAIT FOR SALE! P.S. The reason my playtime is so low is because I decided to refund it and rebuy it later when its price reflects the actual value.

I'd love to recommend this, I played a lot of 21 and they've made some positive changes. However the incredible feeling of 2021 bikes, the skittish nature, the way they are right on the edge - gone. Everything feels incredibly muted, feedback is gone, the physics have been pushed very arcadey and overly easy. Whilst that might be nice for lower difficulty settings, to have that with maximum realism really hurts the core game. There have been a few changes. Curbs feel perfect, the device has been added (though could do with some work regarding physics). Small changes, would be positive, completely overshadowed by the huge physics changes. Milestone have allegedly claimed no changes happened but as someone who spent hundreds of hours on an empty track feeling the bikes out to make setups and explain the differences its clear as day. Bottom line, 2021 is better. Maybe they change it in the future, maybe I change my review when they do. Until then this wouldn't be the rendition I buy. Of course AI is still bad, very similar other areas, lots of things could be spoken about. All of them secondary to the core gameplay of bike on track.
