  The video game tells the story of a man in search of his missing wife, who has been abducted by a bizarre cult that seeks to complete a ritual where they can indulge in their desires in a world where pleasure and pain seem to intertwine, much like in Clive Barker's film 'Pinhead.' The gameplay of the game does not deviate much from the majority of horror games on the market. We have a first-person view as we control our character and are free to move around the villa, which will be the location for 98% of the game. However, the game fails to offer satisfying gameplay. The escapes from monsters will be few, countable on one hand, and extremely easy. The puzzles are simple and lack charm, and even in typical genre sections where we need to search for a key or an object, it will never be difficult or interesting. Moreover, I find little coherence in the level design because it's implausible that the objects we need are always just a few steps away from where we need to enter. The beginning, especially when we need to enter the villa without an invitation, is puzzling as the invitation is conveniently left on a bedside table near one of the entrances. The stealth sections are also quite lackluster, almost not worthy of being called such. The most disturbing aspect is the poorly crafted facial models of Jonathan and Amanda, which are not even consistent with the illustrations, cutscenes, and various moments in the game where we encounter them. The developers seem to have noticed this issue too, as our image won't be visible when standing in front of a mirror, almost as if we were vampires. The image in the mirror is also opaque and blurred, an aesthetic choice that I find horrible. The game's positive aspects lie in its ideas related to the game world and the concept it brings forth. The idea of using sexuality to show distortion was particularly appealing to me. It portrays the relentless desire of humans, which is no longer satisfied in reality, and thus, they seek fulfillment in unknown worlds that humans should never reach. But even in exploring Lustgah (reachable through portals in the villa), the game falls short. The elements inspired by the illustrations of Giger and Beksiński are certainly fascinating, always conveying the idea that the world around you is alive, especially in the horrifying scene where some lustful cultists directly merge with the world of Lustgah to satisfy their desires. However, these elements alone are not enough, and overall, the world of Lustgah failed to captivate me. Not to mention the so-called final boss fight, in which the boss acts recklessly, creating an escape route for us, but it's not clear why. I cannot overlook the underutilized idea of the masks. In Lustgah, there is a mask that, when worn, allows us to see passages we wouldn't otherwise be able to pass through without the mask. The mask also brings with it a mechanic that should make us use it wisely, as wearing it for too long risks madness. But I don't understand why they introduced this mechanic when there's never a moment in the game where we have to extensively use the mask. It's truly baffling. I also find it inconsistent that when we don't have the base mask given by Amanda (the one that allows us to walk around the villa without being recognized as outsiders), we cannot use the Lustgah mask. It would have given meaning to the madness mechanic, as we would have had to use the mask wisely without overdoing it. We will receive an upgraded mask, so to speak, but we will use its effect no more than 2 times. Regarding the overall plot and various subplots that can be learned through collectibles scattered around the villa, I must say that we are not faced with a particularly interesting story. Many elements seem cliché typical of the genre, such as the revelation that a certain character is related to another, a sign of a curse (even metaphorically) passing down generations, linking their fate to contact with a dark world. As a horror game, removing a few jump scares, there are no effective moments that evoke genuine fear, rendering the game ineffective in this regard. This could have been acceptable if the game's purpose was simply to tell a story, but it fails in that aspect as well, and the only intriguing element was the perverse mix of sexuality becoming a symbol of distorted desire. I'm sorry because the game had initially piqued my interest.

  I don't even remember when I got this game but I know it must have been on heavy discount, as just the premise doesn't really interest me so it probably is no surprise I didn't enjoy this. It isn't a bad game as such, it just isn't great and I found a lot of the tasks and puzzles tedious to get through, though I guess the story wasn't entirely awful. It goes down a more supernatural path than I was expecting but it never really introduces much that kept me interested but it isn't that long anyway. Of course there is some moderate sexual content, so if that offends you for some reason then definitely avoid. But otherwise there isn't much that I found interesting enough to recommend this game

  I like this game. Atmosphere and story are not bad. The graphics are good too. Sadly, it`s way too short... But considering that the game was developed by a small group and it's their first game, I have to say that they did it really well

  In short: The game doesnt go far enough in it's theme. This is a sex/horror theme. It heavily leans on the idea of lust. It has some good ideas about that in it, but pretty much everything is censored in a way. The models are very bland and not very appealing. When I play a horror game I expect to get spooked and terrified, when I play a sex themed horror game I expect to be aroused, confused and horrified and terrified. It is neither pornographic enough nor horrific enough to be either or a perfect symbiosis of both. As an adult themed horror game about sex, why in the hell would you censor your material ? If that's what you are going for, GO FOR IT. Don't beat around the bush.

  When the protagonist finds his wife keeping a big ass dildo in a locked chest, his insanity level rises (blurred vision, heavy breathing, shaking, etc) as if he encounters a demon. Now this is a horror game done right!

  Right, I just want to preface this review by saying that unfortunately I managed to play the sequel to this - Lust from Beyond - before playing this, which in hindsight was not a good idea. Although Lust for Darkness is not a pre-requisite to playing Lust from Beyond, it certainly "paints the picture" in a more detailed manner when you do play Lust from Beyond. I wish I had played Lust for Darkness first - that would have massively improved my experience with Lust from Beyond (which was a 10/10 experience anyways). Anyways, enough about Lust from Beyond and more about Lust for Darkness. Honestly, this game felt lacklustre and I managed to complete the whole main story in 2 hours. I see now that this game is merely a short introduction to what you will see in the sequel, Lust from Beyond. The game also had a lot of performance issues - despite me being on a RTX 2070 Super - like stuttering, falling through the floor into the eternal abyss for no reason, etc. Problems which I did not have on the sequel. I think the price is a bit steep considering the amount of content - lack thereof - you get in this. Especially when you again, compare it to Lust from Beyond, which cost almost the same amount and I got 8-12 hours out of that game before completing the main story. With all that said, if you enjoy the lore, this is a must get. I am eagerly awaiting a third iteration of "Lust for ....." and I hope it will not be very long until we get another one. The series is very well made and the lore is captivating!

  I would recommend this WITH HEAVY CAVEATS. There are many things you should know going in, or before you buy. This is the first game made by a small group of devs. They seem very passionate about what they do, and are making a sequel to this right now. It is definitely not a big budget effort by the masters of the craft (and I don't mean that to sound as mean as it sounds): the voice acting is very low quality, though not unbearable by any means, and much of the writing, both the dialogue and driving plot, is pretty middle of the road or even confusing. (mild spoiler: [spoiler]there's a crib in your apartment in the beginning, later you discover your wife was pregnant when she disappeared and your character is shocked. The missing wife is your motivation, then the baby, then not later not the baby, it's a little unfocused.[/spoiler]) The sexual content is there, but not quite as pronounced as it could be. Most of the dimension of Lusst'ghaa is fleshy giger/beksinski pattern, with the occasional vagina like opening, and scattered sex toys/statues to spin around. The sex scene ([strike]singular[/strike] one more small orgy at the end) is okay, though short and a little tame, but that was to make it easier to get their first game made, so I can't fault the devs. EDIT: I finished the game (didn't think i would, too scared), and the sexual imagery ramps up considerably at the end - I just wish it had been that present throughout and then gone even further for the finale. There is some emphasis on gender in the cult, their symbol being a combination of the male and female symbols, and a couple instances of statues having breasts and penises, and it's not vilified or shown as a bad thing but it is this evil murderous cult shown idolizing these things, so it's honestly a little questionable as to what the devs were going for with this imagery. I personally kind of hated the stealth but the sections are relatively short and there are guides, and I get way too fucking scared when video game monsters chase me so I'm biased on that front. There are I think 3 of these sections and a couple of loud sound scares, but otherwise it's mostly cool creepy ambience. ANYWAY, other than that I really like it, which may come as a surprise considering the chunk of text above. There is a really solid lovecraftian story here, and the sexual themes are handled pretty maturely, which is nice to see in the sexual content tag. The graphics are solid, and Lusst'ghaa looks and feels quite nasty. It doesn't overstay its welcome, so none of its flaws wear on you too long, and the passion the devs have is obvious. The side stories are arguably better written and more interesting than the main story, so the incentive to find those items is there. The upcoming sequel promises more of the same, and now they have more experience and as an added bonus are going quite explicit with this next one, so it's worth getting for a primer of the universe. thank you for actually reading that

  pros : nice graphics, no major bugs at lest for me, erotism (imo more games should include adult content), the story is well presented. Some use of "The Room" like interactive puzzle mechanics. cons: very short beat it in two hours. "The Room" like puzzle mechanics, are very simple and very few, wasted potencial. Even tho this game is called lust and the team is brave enough to include erotism/sex, IMO it is not very well integrated into the game, it should be a important part of the story and the player actions, but is not, here is just erotic "stuff", that the player looks at in passing but has no real interation with and that I think could be entirely removed from the game and it would still work as is. IMO the team should really embrace the erotism in their next game and not be afraid to shock more sensible people. So much opening of drawers and cabinets just to find nothing. Sorry for the broken English not my main language.
