  Earthworm Jim. If you are reading this, it is a game that you probably enjoyed as a child years ago (or maybe adult, I don't judge). This game is EJ2, no doubts about it. It is not however, the game that you want to play. What is it then? This appears to be no more than the original code running in DOSBox. The game only supports the resolution of the era (640x480), fails to respond to mouse actions, and at times, fails to respond to basic keyboard actions. As other reviewers have stated, hit detection leaves a bit to be desired. This flaw turns Puppy Love from an adorable game of "aww, look, he is throwing puppies out the window" to "if that marshmallow misses another puppy in the middle I'm gonna lose it after Peter loses it on me." Also as other reviewers are saying, levels are missing (Lorenzen's Soil) or out of order (The Flyin' King). To this day, I will pull out my Genesis and play some EJ2 to the last level. I would not however, play this game past the first level. This particular edition only serves as a last chance moneygrab from what once was a great enterprise. Do yourself (and your memories) a favor and play it on the consoles it was made for. Even if that means plugging in your old 386.

  runs much better than EWJ1, denetely a better Port, controlls are good and the graphics look good too (after some additional configuration)

  Earthworm Jim is the amazing game (and series), no doubts, but there is one very important thing you need to know: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME ON STEAM It is a horrible port, seriously, it's bad on so many levels -Horribly emulated and you will have problems with controls -Horribly cut comparing to the SEGA and NES versions - music and levels are missing, and there is NO info about that on the steam page. -20$ for 3 bad ports is a rip-off If you want to play this game, simply get SEGA or NES emulator and ROMs, so you could actually enjoy the game. I wish I could refund this game, but I bought the pack years ago before that new refund system and support refused to return my money when I bought it. I wrote a money back ticket half an hour after I bought the game, and they closed the ticket like a month later with something like *bad port is not our problem - no refund* Join my curator group http://steamcommunity.com/groups/garbage_games_challenge#curation

  Guys, don't be silly and do your research before purchasing old games outright and pretending to be scammed directly afterwards. Some neat facts for newbies: - 99% of DOS games are sold with DOSBox emulator embedded and pre-configured; - There was no Windows version of Earthworm Jim 2 (only Earthworm Jim 1); - DOS version of Earthworm Jim 2 is different from console versions (yes, no Lorenzen's Soil level); - DOS version of Earthworm Jim 2 is actually more advanced than colsole versions technically (the resolution is higher, music is CD-quality) and was made to run on 486 PCs (not 386s). Check the wiki or something... Also, this was the first and only rendition of EWJ2 I played in the 90s, and I love it to this day. The console versions all seem filtered and muffled to me :P

  I was never able to play the sequel to Earthworm Jim, so i was hoping this would be my chance. This, however does not seem to want to work well on PC for me. I would not recommend picking it up if you don't want to risk the same.

  Cool game bad emulation configuration and horrid pricing. Seriously this game was the bomb back in the day and is a must have with a controller. You will need 3rd party joy2key software to enable controller support. Doxbox can be buggy at points. Pricing for the bundle should be no more than $15. Pass this up unless on sale.

  It's the DOS version of a game, yes. Unlike EWJ1, there is no superior Windows version, to my knowledge, so it's a bit hard to complaint about, especially when fan-patch exist (in EWJ1 Guides section of Steam) to slap DOSBOX up into proper shape. It's in-between 16-bit and 32-bit ports, mostly being like upgraded Genesis version in graphics and having CD quality audio. Yet it's missing the platforming level with the amazing dirt physics, so I guess I can just slap a thumb down and be down with it, go play other versions. But otherwise it's not bad. Unlike the first game it's has proper gameplay code, controls and hit detection. It appears that I am not a fan of Earthworm Jim games at all. Talking about the first two games, of course. Cartoon humor makes it rather interesting for the first walkthrough, their first stage in both games are amazing, but then instead of developing more on core gameplay they travel heavily down the forbidden gimmicks mountain path, stumbling and rolling rolling rolling, a bunch of stages being straight out minigames. EWJ2 actually has very little cheap hits and noob traps compared to the first game, it's gimmicks are more enjoyable, but there are now even less actual platforming/action levels. Not only that, but with all it's amazing ideas, the game is lacking in structure, feeling like a pile of ideas thrown at random. The structure here dangerously approaches the level of movie licensed games of old, the ones that force gameplay to fit a movie story. I am not even sure if the game has a proper difficulty curve. It's kinda fun but it doesn't lead to satisfying game to replay. Actually, this reminds me that they replaced the required in-between-levels bonus stage with a new one where you have to bounce puppies with a pillow. This one is much worse and kills my mood to play the game ever again. Okay, the first time it appears it's not so bad but then it gets hard while being too long. I am still not sure if I should give it a positive or negative review despite it all... I know! I will solve this dilemma in an easy way by pulling a card out of my sleeve: it's called "missing a level". TRASH AND RASH! PS: The music track for the secret level sounds similar to theme song of case 3 in later-released Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2. Is this based on public domain song? I sure know that few others are, but this one I did not expect.

  A some-what nice version of Earthworm Jim 2, the color pallet sometimes messes up when you go into fullscreen, which can be fixed, but it's a long process. This is the best game out of the EWJ Pack. One problem though, this version of EWJ2 doesn't have the second level, Lorenzo's Soil. This is also the DOSBox version of EWJ2 from The Whole Can 'O Worms pack for the PC, not that it's a problem, but it makes things a bit more pixelated. Note: I have Windows 7, and this works fine.
