Roadmap

About the Game

ABRISS is an atmospheric physics-destruction building game.

Build structures from parts to let them crash into your targets. Unlock new parts, destroy more, witness entropy at its worst in digital-brutalist cityscapes. Build to destroy.

BUILD

Choose from parts with different weights, forms and functions to build a structure.

Thruster + Connector + Bomb? You just built a rocket.

Thruster + Rotator + Laser? You just built a rotating laser rocket.

Pillar + Connector + Ultra Heavy Cube? That's a giant hammer.

Be creative and resourceful with the parts you get, try to destroy the target with less parts or in a more elegant way – it's going to be a spectacle any way you do it.

DESTROY

Try to hit the main targets to win a level in campaign mode. Destroy an armored wall first so you can then shoot through the hole into the vulnerable center. Try to hit a bomb in the environment. Use environment mechanics like the giant Pistons to catapult Ultra Heavy Cubes into a target. Or just throw everything you have at your targets – that might just work too.

  • COMPLEX DESTRUCTION SYSTEM

Simulated statics, thousands of little particles of debris, whole chunks of targets flying into the abyss – with little to no framerate spikes.

  • CAMPAIGN

Five worlds with seven stages each, every stage a hand-crafted destructible cityscape. You will start each stage with a limited set of parts and you will need to find a strategy on how to use them to destroy all main target blocks. You will unlock new parts the further you progress, and every world comes with it's own special environmental mechanic. You can always return to a stage to try to destroy a higher percentage of it, or do it in less moves.

  • SANDBOX

Try out new patterns of building stuff. Play around with parts you haven't unlocked yet. Try to fry

your GPU with 1000 Lasers at once.

  • PHOTO MODE

Take a free camera flying to get the best composition. Freeze or slow down time to get the perfect shot of the destruction you just caused. Apply filters to change the vibe of your photography. Export in wonderfully sharp 4k jpegs. Share them with us!

  • TURNAROUND GIF CAM

Create your own perfectly looping turnarounds of the mayhem you cause!

just incase you missed it, this is a puzzle game. I was expecting fun and destruction, got some of that, but if you don't like puzzle games, you probably won't like this.

ABRISS is such a cool way of looking at a "puzzle game"! Due to its physic-based nature, its always fun to experiment & find new cool ways of solving a stage or even failing in a spectacular way! This game has some innovative new mechanics and a lot of potential, so I can only recommend it to everyone whos interested in puzzle, destruction or just cool new games! Keep on keeping on!^^

First, yes, it's early access, so some things may change. But see that thumbs up? There you go. You've got to wreck scifi floaty buildings. They're kind of crappily built, and you'll wreck them by building your own terrible buildings, held up by rickety scaffolds that you yank away at a timely moment. The subtitle of this game should be, "And then Gravity Happens." And then Gravity Happens, and your terrible building falls into the target terrible building, debris flies all around, and if you (perhaps ironically) engineered your terrible building well enough, you've taken out the target in the process. Later on, you get rotors and bombs so you could probably build a Building-Sized Mallet of Explosive Building Endification or whatnot. As a kid, I sometimes amused myself by engineering lego bombs that, when dropped, would send out showers of lego shrapnel to knock over brigades of little army figures. So this is kind of in my childhood wheelhouse. Anyway, in short, it's kind of a puzzle game except your reward is destructionment, and that suits me just fine. I have had only one bug so far, where it refused to let me build up my Explosive Counter-Weighted Anti-Bridge Mallet any further, so I had to restart the level. Apart from that, it's worked great so far. And yes, my personal names for buildings have title caps. I am Wile E. Coyote working at an architectural level. I've had fun so far. I've only stopped because I need lunch. I mean to get back to this later and squander a few more hours. I'm curious what other tools I get to enact my insatiable revenge on scifi buildings. EDIT at 6 hours: Later levels in the game become less "make a tippy building" and more "make a really shonky machine," a little like Space Engineers. My inventions include the Rotary Laser-Carver, the Splendid Bomb-buchet and several different Broadside-Firing Rocket Sledge. Also like Space Engineers, floating point errors in physics calculations result in a lot of jiggling when things get complex. Rotary huckers with extra-long arms get extra-wobbly, like those wobbly cats with cerebellar hypoplasia that can't walk straight. I like the game's atmosphere and generally lowkey, nondescript audio, so I'm happy enough. This is good, because these later machines require timely gadget activation, which makes it a human reflex issue. That, combined with wobbly physics, introduces a random element to the game. Getting the highest possible score on a level requires grinding it a lot and hoping to get lucky. It's exactly the kind of thing that really annoyed me about games similar to Irate Avians (not really their title but I know you'll work it out). I've finished the game as of this review, and nearly every level I've achieved the highest level possible. It meant a fair bit of repetition. So at this point, there's not that much to the game. I do not regret the purchase, but I hope they add more puzzles and gadgets over time. I have a hankering to unleash a rocket-powered laser-mallet on something.

ABRISS is really fun and beautiful to look at. Figuring out how to completely destroy a structure feels so satisfying, not only because the way it crumbles into seperate pieces is so visually impressive, but also because each new challenge makes you think about new approaches to destroy the object in front of you. It is a really unique indie game, both in terms style and gameplay. I can't wait to play it to the end and highly recommend to play it yourself.

The game has a great atmosphere and the different levels are challenging but not too hard. Especially the destruction effects are really satisfying. I can highly recommend this game! 10/10!

Definitely early access, but there is a good foundation and at least some content. What this game really needs is workshop, and then it'll be great. Hope there is decent dev support as there is still a lot of work to be done.

Took me 3 hours to beat the game, sandbox is really unsatisfying, really bad memory issues resulting in crashing consistently on some systems. Overall I like the idea of the game but it's too laggy and bug-ridden for me to enjoy it at this time, and it's seriously lacking in content to make it worth the price.

The best puzzle game I've played in ages and the soundtrack rocks.

ABRISS - a mesmerizing destruction game from the berlin gamescene that really brings casual gaming to a new level. The environments and vfx are breathtaking and the soundtrack is just the cherry on top! For me this game embodies the berlin charme of concrete and synth. 11/10 would destroy again!

This is a benchmark disguised as a simplified version of Besiege. Got a spare 3090 lying around playing games that would work on your phone? This game will give it a proper workout as you listen to all the fans rev up and watch your plants die from the excess heat generated. Oh, and the core concept of throwing shit at other shit while also blowing it up feels as satisfying as the world built around it. It's fairly abstract and lowkey up until the point you hit something causing the screen to fill up with physics. Pretty good stress-relief all around.
