His first album, Istighfar, was released in 2005. The first month after its release, this album was able to score double platinum with sales of more than 300 thousand copies. In the album, Opick included his song, entitled Tombo Ati, into his solo album. Previously, Opick included the song in the compilation album Tausiyah Dhikr and Nasyid. The album contains ten songs, including Taqwa, Irhamna, Destiny, Teranglah Hati, 25 Prophets, Semesta Bertasbih, Bismillah, Satu Rindu, Open Eyes, Open Hearts and Ya Rasul. The hit song on the album was Takdir, which he sang with Melly Goeslaw. In addition to Melly, Opick also has a duet with Wafiq Azizah, a teenager who excels as the best international child qoriah in the song Yaa Rasul. There is also a collaboration between Opick and the nasyid group Pandawa Lima on the song Teranglah Hati. In August 2006, shortly after releasing his second album, Opick released a book entitled Opick, Spiritual Oasis in Senandung.
