  A lot of reviews seem to be complaining about the career, regardless of recommending or not. The career is decently lore accurate, it isn't made for you to solo run with an op class just cause you opened your wallet. I genuinely would have been angry if they gave a Sigmar Warrior Priest have ranged weapons, much less any of the guns Saltz has in general. They Warrior Priests dislike ranged weapons and abhor technology like guns. It isn't going to be a carry career, if your the last alive you have likely already lost but that's fine seeing as that means you don't have to buy a DLC to be the best career on Saltz. I have seen people complain how this career is "not as good" as the other melee only careers, Grail Knight and Slayer. This is because he fills a different purpose entirely from the other two. GK and Slayer both are dps melee careers purely built for doing high damage like buzzsaws, look at their ults. WP is a SUPPORT TANK, designed to keep his team alive and healthy, equipped with a LOT of stagger and low damage with most of his weapons. Regarding his weapons, again anything other than blunt weapons would not be correct with lore. He has 3 that are basically copied and reskinned from others classes, these being: skull splitter(Bardin 1h hammer or Kruber mace) skull splitter w/shield(Bardin 1h hammer w/shield or Kruber mace w/shield) dual skull splitters(Bardin dual hammers). He has 3 relatively unique weapons, these being: skull splitter w/tome with unique charging mechanic which modifies his heavy attacks 2h hammer which has a very unique set of light and heavy attacks for the most part flail w/shield which is more similar in use to standard flail than to any shielded weapons in game but with some mechanics like shielded charging heavy similar to GK's bretonnian long sword charged heavy. I didn't even plan to write a review, I almost never do, but holy SIGMAR are there too many people whining about not getting handed a broken class to solo Cataclysm with. If you want to pay to win I don't think this game is for you.

  The Warrior Priest is a true support career, as in an actual team which to support is required. You'll need a co-frontliner that can actually kill things in melee and some ranged character that can shoot meaningful targets at the right time as opposed to just unleashing moonfire in the back of your head (you know who you are, you should never be allowed to play elf again). If those conditions are met, it's a fun and interesting career that can handle hordes moderately well and provide several buffs for the team across all areas. Otherwise you are in for a very sad time because he can't really accomplish much of anything on his own, as he has basically no forms of burst damage, no effective anti-elite or anti-monster options and no real answer to most specials. He doesn't get any ranged weapons and his arsenal is limited to various combinations of hammers, flails and shields. He gets a prayer book with a couple of neat tricks, but it's rather tedious to use as you have to charge it up first (via the weapon special key preferably, during attacks it takes too long) and then release the charge via a heavy a heavy attack. His passive is a bit underwhelming. It's a kind of rage mode that charges up very slowly in Cataclysm and doesn't really do much when it does activate, though via the talent that allows you to heal players when killing enemies under that effect it does provide good utility. His active ability is a holy shield that makes either the warrior priest or an ally invulnerable for a few seconds and can provide other benefits depending on talent. A strong ability but all in all it generally falls in the reactive as opposed to proactive style of playing. You end up reacting to things going tits up as opposed to controlling the situation and making sure the heretics don't get the initiative. I'd say it's nowhere near the support and carry power that the witch hunter captain can provide and overall a lot closer to the engineer than the grail knight or sister of the thorn when comparing with other dlc career releases. I'd also say it requires a pre-made team and some coordination to become effective in higher difficulties, but in those specific conditions it's a fun and interesting experience. I'll give it a thumbs up with the hope that one day it'll be given a bit more damage, as it feels a bit strange to be a melee-only career and lacking in that area.

  A fun support class, but suffers from an uninteresting talent tree, low melee killing power for a melee-only career and the lack of option to deal with Specials.

  The aesthetic is definitely on point though As for talent tree, your options are basically between mildly average but inconsistent/requires some serious party setup to even take advantage of versus consistently ok-ish but requires no specific setup. It also doesn't offer many builds that encourage experimentation or change in playstyle at all. This is less of a problem on previous DLC careers because they do offer quite a bit of fun messing around with many viable options with the talents they provided. For a melee-only career with only 6 weapons to choose from in my opinion is tolerable, and the 3 new weapons (the other 3 are just reskinned 1H hammer-based weapons from Bardin's arsenal) are fun to use, but his loadout does feel lacking. So what's wrong with the reskinned weapons? Because they're the exact copy of Bardin's 1H hammer weapons down to the moveset and sound, while in reality you're using a replica of Sigmar's warhammer - the legendary Ghal Maraz, so it makes no sense to feel like you're swinging a small dwarven hammer. I feel like some small adjustments to sound and maybe the swing animations will do. The tome & hammer is interesting but a takes way too long to charge for how little crowd control it offers. The new great hammer is probably my favorite of the bunch. It excels at both horde clearing and single target damaging and does them better than the non-DLC great hammer, albeit its moveset can be really confusing at first. Flail & shield is just a superior flail with auto-block on charging heavy, and it's good. Sadly, none of his weapons can help him do well against specials or bosses. Compare to other pure melee careers, Grail Knight has a passive movement speed bonus and his shield can block Warpfire, Slayer has Leap and throwing axe. Right now the only possible way to deal with Warpfire/Ratling as Warrior Priest is to use his career skill, with a specific talent choice to negate knockback from Warpfire/Ratling. But his career skill does not exactly have a short cooldown either, so you won't be seeing yourself using it frequently as an option to deal with Specials. The passive skill Righteous Fury is powerful, and in theory should be your main tool to get most of his killing power out of. But you have no mean to control over the activation, takes a while to charge up, and when it does it's usually when the wave is almost over. The mechanic of activation on kill means most of the time you'll have to fight the boss without it, and will activate right after you kill the boss. A little player agency or some other ways to help build up the Fury gauge would be nice. Overall, I feel Warrior Priest needs a little polish aside from a couple of bug fixing to make him more on par with other melee-focused careers. There's still clearly a lot of love had been put into this, so if you love this game, please consider supporting Fatshark by purchasing this DLC to help them in pushing out more great content.

  I really want to like Warrior Priest, but in his current state, he is simply "okay" career at best, and I cannot in good conscience say that he is on par with the other Salzpyre careers. He does look really cool though, so if you are after the coolness factor, then he's 10/10. But... Weapons: He can only use his new weapons that are mostly all hammers. He does have a few options (6 to be exact), but most of his weapons are okay at best, except Shield and Flail, which is simply amazing. Has good/great crowd control weapons, but no exec sword type weapon that has good monster damage. Talents: Most of his talent options are fairly decent, providing good support options. Pretty ok stuff. Passive: Feels very lackluster and doesn't activate itself when needed, mostly after the fight is ended. Needs buffs/reworking. His ult is a shield that he can cast on himself and/or his allies, giving invincibility for 5 (or 8) seconds. You have an option in talents to make your ult heal lost HP, but the time frame for effectively using it so low (3 secs), it's mostly only useful to heal yourself, meaning, my fantasy of being a team healer goes unfulfilled. He is also very vulnerable to specials (especially flame rats which he cannot block, unlike GK) and he has to pick a talent to be even be able to deal with Ratling Gunners and Warpfire rats when using his ult, otherwise they will simply push him away. Right now Warrior priest feels like a worse Foot Knight or Grail Knight, both of which offer team buffs, crowd control (FK), are not as vulnerable to specials and either still have ranged weapon (FK) or have boss killing ult (GK). I'm not saying that every career needs to have insane DPS to be impactful, but for what he offers to the team currently (good CC some buffs and an ok ult with some potential in the right hands), Warrior Priest is simply not worth it and is more of a burden for the team, especially if you, like me play mostly QP and end up on a team with a GK and Slayer. I will revisit my review if WP receives buffs that make him a viable and competitive career.

  This is my favorite premium career. It feels like it was tuned for Legendary instead of Cataclysm, which is as how they should be. Your ultimate is a heavily support, single friendly target ability, which makes you be hyper focused on team mate awareness. This is a great shake-up as whether or not you are supporting, you normally just focus on the enemies and let team mates take care of themselves. Not with Warrior Priest. If a team mate needs the aide of your ultimate, you have to be aware of that and also where they are so you can aim and click the ultimate on them before they are in trouble, or up to 3 seconds later if you use a certain talent. This is fun and engaging even for a veteran player like me who has 1,000 hours in the game already. The weapons also demand more input than usual, with a greater awareness required of their moveset than the average weapon found in VT2. As an example, most weapons carve up hordes by either spamming light attacks or heavy attacks exclusively. The two-handed hammer's horde moveset, however, is heavy, heavy, light. It's elite damage moveset is light, light, heavy. If you lose focus and disrupt your heavy, heavy, light routine during a horde clear even once, you just might end up taking a hit as a result, because you're no longer keeping the rats at bay for a few seconds. Most importantly however, I don't feel like I'm getting automatically carried just because the career is existing as a team mate. GK and SotT are overpowered for Legend. Engineer and now Warrior Priest aren't and that alone makes them good.
