  SUCH a fun and beautiful game! Its refreshing to have a relaxing and mature horse game finally. I dont think I've seen the color pink at all so far in this game... and since it's a horse game, thats saying something! Thank you Cozy Bee for creating a horse game for real horse lovers.

  Played the demo and fell in love! I'm so happy for the love and time that was put into this game. It may be only in EA but it's very enjoyable with very few bugs that get fixed quickly. The creator Eloise is amazing and listens to what the people want. It's great and honestly well worth the money spent! I could spend hours in the demo even though it was only a demo. And now that we are able to play past the first month it's even better! PLUS BREEDING!!!!!! Baby foals make everything better right? Also training and trust building to top it off. So far no cons to this game other than some of the camera motions but you get used to it. Eloise has plans to release more content every two months or so and well from what we have seen she listens to the suggestions the community has as well as bringing some of those suggestions to the game. There's a lot to do, even for it only being EA, and I highly recommend it as a purchase especially if you love horses. Besides us horse people have been chewing at the bit for a new horse game to fix our itch and I like to think this is it even if it's single player. <3

  The Ranch of Rivershine is a captivating equestrian game that holds great promise. Although it is still in its early access phase, I'd like to share my thoughts on the game's current state, highlighting its strengths and areas that could be improved. The gameplay mechanics are smooth and intuitive, making it accessible for both experienced gamers and newcomers. Whether I was exploring the open fields on horseback or taking on quests, the controls were responsive, providing a seamless experience. Visually, the game is stunning. The horse models are adorable, and the coat variations are visually striking. The cross-country courses offer an enjoyable challenge, and the landscapes are beautifully crafted, immersing players in a picturesque world. While dressage and show jumping are not featured, I found that the focus on cross-country courses was engaging and satisfying. However, it's worth mentioning that the game's content is currently limited. The closed shops in town and restricted customization options may lead to repetitive gameplay during long sessions. I'm hopeful that future updates will address these limitations and expand the available content. One area that could be improved is the foal aging process. Currently, it takes seven in-game days for a foal to grow up, which can feel lengthy. Providing options to sell or skip the aging process for unwanted foals would enhance the breeding experience. Additionally, implementing loading screens during location transitions would improve the overall user experience. The current black screen can be confusing, making players wonder if the game has crashed. In summary, The Ranch of Rivershine presents a promising equestrian adventure. While it's important to consider its early access status and the need for further updates, the game offers enjoyable gameplay and stunning visuals. With improvements and expansions in the pipeline, I'm excited to see how The Ranch of Rivershine evolves into an even more captivating virtual world.

  An excellent game with a lot to offer, even in Early Access. The fact there's breeding in it is a huge plus. My favorite thing about the game is the races, which I enjoy doing. Do enough of them, and you can use the glowing statues to increase your favorite horses' stats! I definitely intend on sinking tons of hours in to this game's Early Access, to get the perfect horses I want. The grinding loop won't be for everyone, but truly I don't mind. A lovely game, I feel the price point is very affordable, and it brings me back to the nostalgia of the horse games of the early 2000's, an era sorely missed by all horse game girls.

  -Early Access Review- I usually dont write reviews, but i feel the need to write one here. I REALLY want to see this game expand and get a full release. I think the story is absolutely wonderful. I love the horses, i love how you take care of the horses, train them, breed them. Including the foals! Taking care of the babies is wonderful. The farming and collection around the world is peaceful. The world is beautiful and peaceful. I also personally love that we have to work with horses, to get them to trust us, answer to us, and get them better trained. I have so much fun with this game, but i am someone who is easily self entertained. I would fully recommend this to anyone who loves horses(: That being said, in its current state, there's for sure pros and cons. Pros: -Fun Story -Active Town and People -Lovely Horses -Cute Foals -Fun Training -Good Sized Map -Cross Country Racing is fun once you get the hang of it! -Wonderful community and devs. Any questions you may have can be found in the community hub, people are constantly answering questions respectfully and nicely. Now with the cons, this is stuff that will be fixed later, keep that in mind. but if you want to buy it in its current state, here's what you should know; -Slow at the beginning, tedious to make money for buildings until you can sell horses and foals. that is where you can rack up a lot of money. -In between racing/buying quests can feel repetitive. There's only cross country racing right now, so the only way to make money with your first horse(until you buy and/or breed more) is repeatedly cross country racing. Which can consist of waking up, racing, training(unless it's done), sleep and repeat. -Some visual glitches, but nothing that breaks the game or makes it unplayable! Small minor things that will be fixed in upcoming patches(: Now for a personal preference con, that may just be me; -You can only save as soon as you wake up. Which makes it difficult if you have to deal with life problems in the middle of the day in game. If you need to exit the game in the mid-day, you'll have to start that day all over. I would really like to be able to save whenever I can. And that is my full review! Really not a lot of cons, and nothing that wont be updated later! We are getting so much more once the full game comes out. Catching wild horses is the update im most excited about. I really cannot recommend this game more for horse lovers. This is the best horse game to come out this year, and it is only getting started.

  I enjoy playing this game and think it's incredibly cute but there is one thing that I think destroys the longevity of this game: lack of variety in competitions, with the dev saying they have no plans to expand on competitions. So we will ONLY have cross country competitions available. Even just nine hours into the game, I am already burnt out on the constant cross country competitions with no real option to change. Throw some dressage in there or just jumping or SOMETHING to break the monotony of the cross countries. If the dev had said they were working on a variety of competitions, I would recommend this game immediately but the fact that that's not in the plan right now IS enough for me to not recommend. I really think this decision is going to greatly effect this game's long term success. However, even with that major flaw this game is still one of the better horse games released that are aimed at the horse gworl community. Now that we've gotten that one big flaw out of the way, let's talk about the pro's! The game has incredible artwork, has farming and foraging factors, horse breeding, ways to expand on your farm and stables, bonding with your horses, and different levels of quality of horses that can be unlocked as you go. tldr; If you're fine with one style of competition and grinding that one style, this game is for you! If you're not, maybe hold off on it.

  The Ranch of Rivershine is such a cozy and relaxing horse game. It is hands down my favorite game at the moment! I wanted to leave my review til I had more hours in the game but I think 52 hours will suffice for now! This game lets you ride, train, compete, and breed your horses. It's also nice to just spend time with your horses on the ranch- watching them in the pasture, seeing your little foals run around with their mamas. You start off with a basic 'Wild' tier horse from the Auction, but as you progress through the game's storyline you unlock horses with better base stats, and fancy colors. The storyline is fun, it tells the tale of previous "champions" in Rivershine, and you as the player are the new champion! There are statues that glow with mysterious power as you win races, that will grant your horse additional stat points! You unlock more difficult races as well- Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. These earn you more in-game money to use on new horses, ranch upgrades, feed, etc. Once I realized you could use the statues multiple times with the same horse, I realized I could train my starter right up to 100 in each skill :) Breeding is really fun too. I am about to start experimenting with it myself as I now have some lovely horses. It's best to breed with a fully trained horse (per each level) or wait til Expert level + Legendary tier Auction is unlocked^^ The reviews are overwhelmingly positive for a reason! Even in its early access stage, Ranch of Rivershine is a rather polished game in terms of the gameplay mechanics! There's the odd bug here and there, but so far I haven't had anything gamebreaking. Character models could use improvement, and other visual updates will be necessary, but so far the game has a great foundation. Eloise has done a fantastic job, she is the sole developer of this game. I look forward to seeing where this game is headed! xx

  An early review for now: This game is much better than a lot of other "recently" released horse games. The gameplay is easy enough to pick up quickly but even when you set a good time at a race, you might find yourself failing a jump every now and then if you miss the timing. Training your horse felt like it took ages in the demo, I think they increased the rates. Right now it feels very<\i> appropriate. You don't just watch your horse do training and can actually train it yourself while not being stuck with this for too long. The first horse type you can buy can be trained fully within two to three ingame days. One ingame day takes 20-30 Minutes depending when you skip the day. Caring for your horse doesn't feel too repetitive. You still have to do all the regular stuff like feeding, brushing and cleaning out the poop but it doesn't take up much time. Even using the soft brush, that takes longer to brush but increases friendship only needs a few seconds to clean a horse. Earning money and the pricing of items, courses and ranch upgrades seem also very balanced. My first impression was, that earning money was way too easy when I was walking around with 10k$ right before being allowed to unlock the third trail. After pruchasing the trail and its race course, I was left with barely anything left. So the time you need to farm the money for the next area is almost the same you need to finish all the quests to be able too which is amazing! As soon as you unlock farm plots, getting money is also much easier. You almost never need to buy horse food from the store. You can collect everything while adventuring the areas. All the leftover collected things can be sold for quite good profit. This is very<\> enjoyable. I have only encountered one bug so far. Some hitboxes seem a little off (fencing, some collectibles interaction hitboxes..) and personally I have slight issues with the input only accepting one key pressed at a time. But I have played way too many games that require you to press multiple keys so I might just be traumatized lol Overall - you can get a quite decent horse game right now with hopes of it improving. If you don't want to gamble if it does get improved even more, keep an eye on this game. It's very promising.

  After playing this game for 8 hours I'm sad to say it's not the best piece of work out there, and isn't worth what it is cost. The game is in early access so things are subject to change (obviously) but the game itself right now does not reflect it's pricing...however before I get into the cons let me start off with what I do like about the game: - Cute atmosphere and graphics - Cute character designs - Nice horse models - Tiny quality of life things such as your character leaning forward or leaning backwards when going up or down a hill respectively on their horse. I wish there was more, however these are the only things I have found enjoyable. Now for the reasons why I don't think anyone should pay the asking price for this game as it stands right now: - Bad camera angle. The camera is either attached to the horse causing you to have to steer with the camera, which doesn't even work well by the way. You turn like a bus and can't even turn quick enough to jump. The other option is turning it to free cam mode, which allows you to turn a lot easier, but you can not use this if you are someone who suffers from motion sickness. I don't even have motion sickness and the camera made me feel sick. - Empty empty world. Despite the vast colourful world, it feels very empty. There are only six main npcs so far after unlocking three areas. The rest of the world is empty minus one or two spots which has some kind of cute little animals running around. - Unique character designs, but bland characters. The writing for the characters is absolutely atrocious. They are just exposition galore. No personality. They only exsist to either give you a quest, give you horse care tips, or to sell you whatever it is they have in their shops. - Visual bugs. Floating sheep and random nameless npcs...the usual things you'd see in an early access. Hopefully they are fixed in time. - False advertising. Despite being brandished as a horse ranch builder/farm sim; you have VERY little customization on anything. You can only 'build' by paying to expand your stable...or for an indoor arena. You don't even get the 'farming' part of it. You just throw down your seeds and leave em. That's it. No choosing where to place your crops, no being able to place things down for however you want. You can only place things in it's assigned place and not even decorate your farm area leaving it once again...empty looking. - No tutorials. The game doesn't show you how to do anything. You are basically on your own. Took me a full hour to figure out how to breed horses after unlocking the fertility pen. - No story. If you want something with an interesting story, this game is not for you. What little story there is, is dry, boring, and doesn't even stand out. I really had high hopes for this game, however it's just been a huge let down. Also there is the fact that the creators other game, 'Alchemy Story' which is basically abandoned...so question is if this game will meet the same fate after a point. TLDR: Don't bother buying the game unless it is on sale. It's not worth it in the current build of the game, hopefully things are resolved as it moves out of early access. Pros: -Cute atmosphere -Cute characters -Nice Horse models -Nice attention to detail when it comes to horse riding. Cons: -Bad camera angle -Bland, empty, world -Bad character writing -Bad writing in general -Falsely advertising features -No real tutorials leaving you confused for a good portion of it
