  I have 40 plus years riding motorcycles, and I was a motorcycle mechanic. I can tell you right now this game has no resemblance to real life motorcycle riding. I have to wonder if anyone on the Milestone's team has ever ridden a motorcycle. The first person views in this game are so wildly exaggerated, that it almost causes you to become sick. The motorcycles in this game are not able to hold their line, and making even small turns seems to whip your bike 4 to 5 feet from side to side. The A.I. balance is nonexistent, to the point that the A.I. seems to always be in top gear and running at top speed, leaving you behind while you're still in the process of shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Buy this with my warning, there is no real life experience to be gained; this is not a simulator, and it is extreme arcade.

  I tried Ride 4, and I now I've tried Ride 3. The controls are terrible. I assume after a lot of getting use to it you could manage to control the bikes, but its simply just not worth the time investment. I ride dirt bikes IRL, and it's easier to ride IRL than it is in this game.

  This game makes me wanted to actually ride a motorcycle in real life than in the game.

  I bought RIDE 3 on Xbox quite some time ago, enjoyed and completed it. The game hasn't aged terribly well, but still holds-up pretty well and i prefer the handling model over RIDE 4, so figured i'd double-dip on the Steam version.

  Ride 3 --> Bigger & Better than Ride 1/2 (MotoGP series too) PROS: - Graphics are awesome thanks to Unreal Engine 4. Bikes get as photorealistic as possible. - Livery Editor, this is best addition to this iteration of ride. You can add upto 1000 layers of creative desgins on your bike. You can share & also download cool desings. - Physics are more realisitc, you have to be more careful about your braking otherwise you go down. - Sound of bikes is good, what i like most is wind & rain sound effects that keeps you involved while going fast, both are just wonderful. - Massive Carrer, Lot of volumes & special events. More tracks more bikes more fun. - Multiplayer, finally devs added few useful features. Now it's easy to add someone who you race online & we can able to talk with everyone in lobby. We can now spectate online race while waiting to join in that lobby. - New customization options added like cylinder head porting,racing pistons, crankshaft balancing etc. CONS: - AI will give good challenge to you but they kind of sticked to a line pushing you away from racing line. Some times you might crash in high speeds cause of that aggressive push. - Multiplayer has some issues like sometimes whole race & results feels weird like your position, lap counts will be wrong & i did some races where best lap time of a player is 3 seconds lol. Multiplayer needs to be patched soon. - Sometimes AI looks like floating. Gap between ground & bike makes them look like floating. It needs a fix. Overall it's great improvement over Ride 1/2 in every way possible. Milestone did a great job keeping ride franchise alive by adding lot of new positive things in it. ---> I highly recommend this fun & fantastic game to all who love motorcycles.

  [h1]WARNING DON'T BUY[/h1] [h1]A full year and a half now without any fixes for the major issues[/h1] UPDATE 24-07-2020: Still no fixes for the game crashes! A full year and a half, yes a year and a half.... since it's release and there has still been nothing done to fix the major issues this game has. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I will keep updating the review as Milestone updates their game. Obviously they're not trying. (played it recently to see if anything had been fixed, but all i got was disappointment) Where to begin on this hot mess. I'm just going to jump right in and get to the points Good points: - Great graphics - More tracks including awesome street tracks like The Snake (Mulholland highway). - More types of bikes like: adventure, sport touring, classic racing. - Livery editor, which in my opinion is a HUGE plus! Already made some great liveries myself. You can share and download these liveries online with eachother. People are making the best stuff on there. - Bike models look a lot better and more realistic. - They added wind noise when you go fast and it gives you a bit more sense of speed. Not so great points: - Only 1 new motorcycle helmet brand in the mix of riding gear. - No other new stuff for motorcycle gear. - No motorcycle gear editor. They made a livery editor in the game, why not do the same so you can make your very own custom gear? - Not being able to change your riding outfit before the race. You have to go all the way back to the main menu and then change your outfit. In Ride 2 you used to be able to change racing gear before the race, so why leave it out in this one. If you match your leathers to a certain bike, it means you have to go all the way back into the main menu to change your riding gear. - Some bikes don't have an aftermarket exhaust option. This is a motorcycle game. Motorcyclists obviously like to put a nice exhaust on their bike. - Putting an aftermarket exhaust on your bike doesn't actually change the sound. - Some bikes have a horrible sound, unrealistic sound or a sound that doesn't match the bike at all. - They added a camera wobble when you're going really fast, probably to enhance the sense of speed, but it's just annoying as hell. Horrible points: - Game crashes on certain maps. Lots of players have this problem. So you can't even play through the entire career mode. [h1](1 YEAR and still no fix)[/h1] - You have to win every event in a ''block'' of races in order to unlock certain bikes. You understand how frustrating it can be to not be able to race a certain race, because it's one of the maps that will crash no matter what. Again leaving you unable to play through the career. - Some players have reported that they get stuck on the loading screen, so they can't even play the game at all. [h1](1 YEAR and still no fix)[/h1] - Stupidly horrible AI. They cannot be crashed, but when they smash into you, you are the one that crashes. Note that they tend to smash into you A LOT, because they will always try to outbrake you. - Physics that apply to you don't seem to apply to the AI. For example, when you have the RSV 1000 R, you won't be able to outbrake an AI on a GSXR 750, but when you switch them around the same thing happens. AI WILL outbrake you. - AI doing their absolute best to stay on their racing line. Even when you're there, they will just keep turning into you untill you move. - You either suffer with AI on high difficulty or you will outrun them easily when you set them a little lower. This is obviously no fun. - Quite a lot of awesome tracks from Ride 2 aren't in this game, too many to name them all. Most of the career gameplay is Isle Of Man tracks now. - Ride 2 had more realistic physics, this game has been dumbed down so that anyone could play this easily. - Some users have now reported that the game can crash after almost every race. This includes me. Thankfully, the games saves you winning the race, but it's still horrible. [h1](1 YEAR and still no fix)[/h1] - As you can tell there are a lot of problems, mainly with the game crashes and the AI. All of this combined really takes the fun out of the game. At this moment i highly recommend against buying this game. [h1](And still do)[/h1] If you are absolutely set on wanting to buy this, then listen up. Here's what you need to do: At the start go for the supermoto and do the first supermoto event you can see. If you can ride all of those tracks it probably means you don't have the problem that your game will crash on certain tracks (2 supermoto tracks are part of that list). If your game does crash, i strongly recommend refunding it. Why did you not refund it? Well because i already played it for too long trying to figure out why it kept crashing thinking it was a problem with my pc. There wasen't a known list of tracks that were known to crash your game when i bought it. I put in a report of all this on their official website and they responded, so lets hope they will fix these things soon. [h1](They didn't)[/h1] They had an update where they fixed some issues, but the track crashes are still there and so is the terrible AI. Just so you know. [h1](Still terrible AI)[/h1] All in all if you're looking for a proper motorcycle game with more realistic physics, buy Ride 2 on sale.

  Smashed out 70 ish hours right from the get go loved the game worked very well no issues minor bugs but nothing that would cause stress except the AI and online leaderboard wall cheaters of course. NOW how ever since the first ever patch came out its not playable, the game has more bugs now than ever, on ANY race i exit its will crash to either a black screen or just desktop or just hang and do nothing. Milestone have zero interest in fixing the game what so ever, its all about new bike DLC and you paying for it and thats all. im back to playing Ride 2 with an online that work with friends and a game that doesnt constantly crash. its pathetic how after the 3rd or 4th week from release its broken in such a way that you cant play it anymore. all we get on forums and steam is we are looking into it or we are working on a solution now,.,.. the next patch comes out and then ITS STILL BROKEN. utterly disgraceful work by Milesstone, do not buy it unless they fix the game to which i highly doubt that will happen soon if ever.   Ride 3. Should you buy it? Things you need to know: its an arcade racer with simulation aspirations, its aimed at people with an interest in motorcycles, and its not as bad as you may think. If you are looking for a realistic simulation of motorcycle riding and competition you probably will find yourself disappointed, but if you expect to be disappointed you might find yourself pleasantly surprised. That was a weird sentence to write as much as it was to read, but it sums up the game nicely. Ride 3 is developed by Milestone and in the past that would have been a warning light. However, Milestone have improved somewhat over time and not all their products are awful cash-ins any more. Some of them are competent games in their own right and some are actually very good indeed, such as their Isle of Man TT Racing game. So don't dismiss it outright just because its Milestone. It seems Leopards really can change their spots, if only a little bit. Maybe shift them a millimetre. Ride 3 comes with a new game engine (Unreal), so that means new graphics and new physics. Both are good but not great - the tracks feel a little flat and uninspiring, and the riders are way too wooden to look convincing. You can see they've made an effort, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The controls are very similar to previous versions with an enormous dead zone on your controller you can drive a bus through. With this deadzone subtle control changes are not going to happen unless you install a freeware piece of software that will remap the deadzone (see the forums for details). This brings me on to controllers in general. The thought of driving a motorcycle with a gamepad was hugely offputting to me at first. I have a wheel for driving games, but that's no good for motorcycles and the way bikes are steered with the riders weight means you will never get a truly convincing controller method. But a gamepad works surprisingly well, and I confess I was wrong to dismiss it - give it a go and prepare to be pleasantly surprised. The game is aimed squarely at people who have an interest in commercially available motorcycles. There are some wonderful machines included in the package, but as with all things, quantity is at odds with quality. While there are a lot to choose from the simulation aspect suffers. None of the bikes are particularly convincing - not even fuel levels are modelled, making its arcade-racer origins all too plain. But you get the feeling it wants to be a simulation but the developers lack the boldness to take the plunge fully. That's a shame, because if they pushed this into simulation territory it would be a must-buy. The AI is arcade-racer-lite. Its very, very hard to get motorcycle AI right, but so much criticism has been levelled at the AI by users that you feel that it is definitely a bone of contention. Some of the problem is that the Balance of Performance between motorcycles has been poorly implemented with some races unwinnable unless you have the right bike. But the right bike can often only be obtained by unlocking it by winning other races, which in turn need other bikes to have been unlocked previously to win, make it a puzzle-game as much as a racer. I'll confess I do enjoy this game and I say that as someone who is not particularly interested in motorbikes. Its nowhere near as good as it could have been with a more competent developer at the wheel, and its arcade origins are painfully clear at times. Milestone have obviously been so ashamed of their previous efforts they have had to try a little harder recently, and Ride 3 shows that they are able to improve. At the same time, Milestone is really all there is and I can only wonder at how much more could be a achieved if a proper racing-sim developer entered the market with a more serious offering. Until then, your options are limited. Give it a go. If you expect to be disappointed, you might end up pleasantly surprised.
