  I'm giving it a thumbs up because the game has little real competition if you're looking for a horse game with a proper story and adventure game feel. Unlike many competitors, this one actually has likeable characters and an interesting narrative. That being said, it has a ton of massive issues: the controls are janky as hell and the horse visuals are honestly horrifying, even for 2007.   I was looking forward to this game so much. I was a massive fan of the original Horsez, and really wanted to revisit my sub-par childhood game with it's sub-par sequel. What I didn't see was the "Windows® Vista / XP (only)" system requirement. I have a brand new gaming PC and never bother to check requirements; I guess never thought about older games and expected that someone trying to legitimately sell a game on Steam would at least make it compatible with current, supported OSs. I couldn't even get it to work in compatibility mode, and I decided it's not worth me mucking around on a virtual machine to try and get it to work. I have requested a refund. Only works on XP and Vista you guys. You have been warned.

  This is the best horse game I have ever found. I played it to death as a kid, and as an adult I go back to relive my childhood. The storyline is intreguing, the characters intresting. If you have played previous Ubisoft horse games, you will recognise some characters, but it is not necesary to have played it's predicessors to enjoy this one. I remember being blown away with the graphics when I played it the first time...But times change and compared to modern games the graphics suck. (Still playable!) The horses look a bit silly at times, but the scenery is lovely. Compared to previous Ubisoft horse games this one has the best dressage and horse grooming.

  I do not recommend this. This game has one of the worst user interfaces I have ever seen in my entire life. You are required to use the arrow keys AND the mouse, for example. Even if the game allowed complete key re-mapping, it would still be clunky, hard to navigate, confusing, and unintuitive. They do not remind you how to perform actions (coming back to the game after a while? I hope you have a good memory!), the clock/time of day system is insanely confusing, navigating the world is beyond ridiculous, and the horses look like weird mutants. Get the console version instead. It's a completely different game and way, way better.

  I recommend this game for the nostalgia if you have played it as a kid. All of the reviews claiming that it did not run properly likely did not read the extra installation instructions. It was black for me initially, but I was able to download the needed software to still run it and make it work from the file instructions, which were available for safe download online at no extra charge. The fact that there are multiple story endings makes it amazing. I appreciate the attempts at humor this game had.

  Sadly, this game is up to this day still the best single player game about horses, also the best one of the german "Abenteuer auf dem Reiterhof" series. There is a huge storyline and also a lot to do around your horses. Also, you can play with your horse and lounge it, very nice. The riding is exactly as "hard" as it has to be. The lessons are sometimes repetitive, but this is what you do with young horses: repeat, learn, and then show it. I could spend days at the breeding center! I love that you can continue the game after finishing your story. Also, a lot of old characters from the series "Abenteuer auf dem Reiterhof" are included, that's lovely.

  Honestly the game would be better with no plot as an adult I am very concerned about how these folks just casually lie to and kidnap a young adult and just assimilate her into their farm???? Game play itself is w/e I would have rather been able to set wasd as the movement keys but that isn't an option in the key binds menu. If you ignore the plot t's an OK game I bought it because I have a lot of nostalgia for the original DS Petz Horsez, and was deeply disappointed that this version wan't anything close to the version I grew up with :C
