  This version attracts you with it's name 'Max Payne', but its Max Payne (FR);, which means you are forced to play the game only in french - if it ever gets launched.. Yes, that is another issue with this version. You have to download a lot more patches only to realize that gameplay is corrupted and its in french.. voila!

  Max Paynes a great game, but Steam sells this game in a broken state and it will not work without downloading fan made fixes.

  Game doesn't function on newer versions of windows. You have to modify the game with 3rd party files in order to get it to work since microsoft nerfed the shit out of compatibility mode. Steam doesn't give any warning about this and rockstar damn sure won't, so I will.

  [h1] [b] Buy this game before its gone. [/b] [/h1] To anyone that is interested in buying max payne 1 or 2 I recommend doing it now before the remake is published. When gta definitive edition launched rockstar removed san andreas, vice city, and 3 from steam forcing you to buy the $60 remaster on the rockstar launcher. That remaster was an absolute disaster and you can't even get the original games anymore. Rockstar has shown that they don't care about fans and only care about money so you should expect 1 and 2 to be pulled from steam soon.

  60 year old, youngins dont care what I say but ive been playing Maxpayne for over 13 years on pc, no, I am not great at it but it has provided me with many happy hours after a days work. To me, its a great stress relief tool, couple pints and a joint and I love it. Got all 3. Halflife is great too, a little slow for the youngins out there but a good mind therapy relax session. simply enjoy and try to enjoy the simple things in life....

  Despite its age, Max Payne sets the tone for the series in such a convincing way, that it becomes timeless. The story telling its incredible, the novel styled approach resists the test of time with much ease and perfectly captures the dark tone of Max's story. The gameplay serves as the base of the whole series and it's as fun as ever. The following changes need to be made in order to fully-live this experience on modern hardware: - The audio files need to be decompressed, look up Max Payne Audio Fix or follow a community guide. - Lock the framerate to 60fps in order to preserve the physics stability, or avoid going beyond 120+fps. - Install the WidescreenFix to correct the game's aspect ratio. - Install the Max Payne Remastered textures to further smooth the experience. "They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark on everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger, and it was over."
