  For the love of god DO NOT BUY THE FULL DLC VERSION, there is no need. Buy this much cheaper version and go to https://help.ea.com/ca/help/faq/dlc-for-classic-games/#dragonage where you can find click and download ALL the DLC to this game for FREE!. Its an official EA webpage. Do it and thank me afterwards with upvotes and awards :)

  Game itself is great...The Origin launcher you're forced to use, not so much. Be prepared for failed launches and the joy of continuously re-installing Origin. It's ridiculous (and completely unnecessary from the player's point to view) to make users install, update and troubleshoot a second launcher just because Steam and Origin can't learn to share and put their focus where it should be, which is on the user experience. Sometimes I miss the old days when you could just insert a disc, double click a file and play the game...

  I was emotionally neglected as a child and now I am cursed to play all Bioware's rpgs through every year to get me some emotionally healthy found family time. This one scratches the itch particulary well.

  I really love the DA series. So seeing it back on steam is awesome. FYI if you owned this pre-Origin, and had all the DLC then, even if you have it -in- origin, you CAN get it to work on Steam; You just have to log into Origin separately and access DA2 Steam and poke it to sort out your DLC. Then you can launch it with DLC stuff and -don't- have to re-buy everything! Right click -> Game details -> Extra Content... Ignore the 'buy the DLC' bit and keep scrolling down and you should be able to queue everything, including the hi-res pack.

  I use to watch my grandson play Dragon Age II on X-box several years ago and enjoyed it very much. So he helped me set up a character and I was hooked. Now several years later I'm still playing all 3 dragon Age games and are waiting "patiently" for the next version. I really can't decide which I like the best.

  So apparently I can't play my single player offline game I bought on Steam, because EA Origin's ownership verification system is down or something. For 2 days in a row now. The game cannot be played on either Steam or the Origin launcher until THEY resolve the issue. I legitimately thought we'd moved past forced online verification for every time we want to launch our single player games, but I guess EA is run by absolute boomers. Edit: 7 days later. Origin games bought via Steam are still not playable. """Customer service""" tells everyone to turn it off and on again. EA never made an official statement. At this point I don't even care if they ever actually bother fixing it. The fact that you can lose access to your single player games in 2020 for a week straight through no fault of your own is completely ridiculous and inexcusable. Remember when everyone tried to warn us of the dangers of online stores? Turns out Electronic Arts over here is doing their best to make that dystopia a reality. I don't recommend anyone buying this game here. In fact, I can't reasonably recommend anyone ever buying an EA game anywhere. What I do recommend is setting sail!

  Bought both Dragon Age II and Inquisition for the sale, trying to play both of them gave me the same connection error. I contacted EA support and spent about 30 minutes to try and get the game running, technician told me 1000's of others are having the same issue and it will be fixed shortly. This is a warning to anybody buying EA products that requires the player to log into their 3rd party app, I have had an issue with every single game I bought on steam that required the EA app to function. DO NOT BUY EA GAMES ON STEAM THAT REQUIRES YOU TO LOG IN ON THE EA APP IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SPENT HOURS WITH SUPPORT TRYING TO GET THESE GAMES TO WORK. If this is not fixed within the next 7 days I am refunding both games.

  Can companies please just F*CK the HELL OFF with these 3rd party apps and launchers and everything else and just let us people play the games we have paid for without having to install their F*UCKING SPYWARE b*llsh*t. I am sick and tired of coming back to one of the games i bought here on steam years ago, only to find them unplayable because they suddenly require some app or launcher or other piece of SH*T software that doesn't work and serves no function other than show wich dev studio has the biggest nutsack. any company that makes these 3rd party applications should get bloody *SS cancer.

  I was so happy at first, finally DA2 was on Steam, and with "FULL CONTROLLER SUPPORT!" Except it's not, and it doesn't. It's just like Ubisoft's bs Steam releases in that it requires Origin running in the background anyway, and the controller support tag is a COMPLETE lie. Neither this game nor Origins has controller support whatsoever, even though they both had console ports. DA2 especially has a very streamlined combat system that's perfect for a controller, but nope, they refused to include that functionality for the PC version, and now lie about its inclusion for this release. Don't buy this, or the DLC bundle that's more expensive than the base game (for some reason). At least Origins has the decency of having an Ultimate Edition that comes with everything. I had hoped EA was doing some good by releasing titles on Steam that they kept locked away in god awful Origin, but it's just a half-assed money grab for good PR.
