  The graphics are annoying and distracting, making the game unnecessarily more difficult. The paddle gets stuck and doesn't respond when you need it to the most. I feel this is done intentionally. The sound effects are pretty annoying.

  The main reason I got this game is the pack with all four (Mahjong, Brick Breaker, Solitaire and Tetraminos) were on sale for under $3. With that in mind I will give this 4 stars. If it cost more the score would be lower. For the lifetime price for no ADs it is worth the buy.

  Unfortunately, this game has a huge issue. First, let me say that if you're looking for the type of action you remember from Alleyway and similar games from the arcade and NES days, Brickbreaker has it. The problem is (and I can't confirm whether this is a problem with the game's programming or somehow had to do with my particular controller) that the controller goes absolutely nuts whenever you're in the menu, making picking game modes and levels nearly impossible. It scrolls through options constantly and selects things without you pressing a button. I've never had a single problem with my controller on any other game, so it's 99% sure that it's a problem with the game. If it weren't for this enormous issue, this game would get a positive review from me. As of now, I've refunded the game. I hope they can fix this issue in the future so I can purchase the game again, because it did scratch the Alleyway/Brickbreaker itch. EDIT: just so you know, I was using a regular X360 controller, which has worked with every other game I've ever tried with it (and that's dozens of games). Brickbreaker has controller support, and the controller works when you finally get past the dysfunctional menus and into the game. The problem is the menus.

  This is a pretty brick breaker. Very well put together. The only thing I don't like is that it's too flashy and when you hit the bricks, it's hard to see the ball because it's just as flashy. Other than that, i recommend. 8/10

  I usually buy all the arkanoid type of games i can find and at this point i would reckon myself as a fairly experienced player of this kind of genre so i had quite high hopes for this game unfortunately my expectations was far from met. Pros: Relly nice looking game for an arkanoid. Can be played on mouse (eventhough releasing the ball and shoooting is done on the keyboard). Can be played on controller. Cons: Screen flashes when bricks are destoyed which makes it harder to focus on where the ball is. Sluggish and somewhat unresponssive controls. overpowered survival mode that pretty much makes it impossible to 100% the games achievements. No card drops after 3 hours of play made me wonder if they was actually ever implemented and they hasnt according to the community market. My advice unless you are a masochist or a super human arkanoid player look elsewhere.

  Don't waist your money. DX Ball is 1,000 times better. BrickBreaker is flashy and that's it. Spent your $10 somewhere else.

  as a casual and very amateur breakout player I liked [b]brick breaker[/b]. great presentation, both the graphics and audio, rebindable controls (enter to launch balls, why?), fun power-ups that stack, so you can have multiple fireballs bouncing around, for example. [b]100 single player levels[/b] to complete with 5 lives each, a 3-star rating system based on score, local and online leaderboards, but only one level unlocked at a time. [b]survival mode[/b] is the same but you only have 5 lives altogether and get more at the end of each level, see how far you can get. there are [b]3 multiplayer modes[/b] as well (versus, rush, base defense), with steam's remote play they're not local-only anymore either, but I don't have friends, so couldn't try them. only 4 issues: - no volume settings and turning off sound still plays voices - no toggle for particle effects and the ball is really hard to see sometimes - ghost bricks giving you inverted controls and other nasty stuff - I suck at breakout don't think it's worth 10 eur even if you're capable of completing all the levels or have friends to play multiplayer with, but I picked it up for 70 cents, had some fun with the first few dozen levels (couldn't get past level 35, ghost brick city), and now I'm gonna play something else.

  So. This game. Its both great, and incredibly frustrating. I purchased it because it was A. 99 cents and B. Ive always like brick breaker games. This game however is just irritating. Not because of the difficulty, not because of the game play or anything that would normally make a game irritating. No, this game is irritating because of the graphics. Everything looks like it was made in the 80's when neon and flashing lights were the best they could do. This game has SOOOOO much going on when you hit a brick that if you get anything near "max combo" or "Max speed" its near impossible to follow the ball any longer because it gets caught up in all of the other neon lights and flashing orbs and moving lines and EVERYTHING. Its utterly frustrating to lose a ball simply because you could no longer see it behind everything else. I cannot recommend this game simply because it was dumb luck that I made it to level 4 after playing 48 minutes. This should be a casual experience. Something that is simple and easy to get into to and put down. But i find that im putting it down for the wrong reasons.

  I fucking hate this game, words can't truly describe how terrible this is but I'll try anyway. Paddle speed is limited & often delayed which which makes using the mouse garbage. Dumbass effects are constantly blocking your view Garbage physics throw your ball in random directions CONSTANTLY, hitting a corner in this game is like random direction roulette. There's absolutely no ball control, later levels in this game are just 20-30 minute RNG battles while you try get the ball in some 5 pixel width gap between 2 unbreakable blocks. Achievements are impossible, they require doing the whole game in survival mode which is 100 levels in one sitting starting you with 5 lives... I'm losing all 5 lives every single fucking level TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN multiple times. I like brick breaker games and I'm generally good at them but this is a massive piece of shit, buy something else.
