ميزات Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx

Borderlands goes to ELEVEN! You may have seen some games raise their level cap by 5, or maybe even 10, but with The Crimson Lance Assassination Squads wreaking havoc and Crawmerax the Invincible being all invulnerable and stuff we knew you'd need more than just 10. And that's why Borderlands goes to ELEVEN! The Secret Armory of General Knoxx adds new guns, new Class Mods, new vehicles, new missions, and increases the level cap by ELEVEN. Once you factor in all the new enemy types that need killing you're going to need eleven just to keep up. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is an add-on pack for Borderlands that raises the level cap to 61, adds new guns, vehicles, Class Mods, shields, enemy types, and missions. In other words...best add-on ever. Of all time. Forever. The End.

-Quick Review- The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is DLC for Borderlands, this DLC does a number of things over all for you, including giving you access to a new raid boss (Crawmerax the Invincible), raising your level cap, new items/weapons (Pearlescent), new vehicles, in addition to an amusing story with over 40 missions/quests. -Detailed breakdown review- Story: The basic gist of the story is that there's this guy “General Knoxx” and there's this girl “Athena”, they don't get along very well. There seems to be a theme in each DLC for borderlands games, the Secret Armory of General Knoxx makes you feel like you're in a spy/secret-agent action movie. When you show up at T-Bone Junction Scooter has a message for you from Athena, after jumping through a number of hoops to finally meet up with Athena, she tells you the plan to get into General Knoxx's Armory and bring him down. Gameplay: There are a ton of new content in this DLC, Crawmerax itself is a pain in the butt ...but in addition to the raid boss, the new weapons are “Pearlescent” which shows up as a cyan color rarity (“Pearlescent” weapons are a combination of Legendary and unique rarities), new story, new npc's, new bosses, and achievements. Achievements: There are 10 achievements you gain access too with this DLC, about half of the achievements are pretty straightforward and easy (unlocked through playing the story, or just killing the right NPC with the right vehicle), three of the achievements are time consuming and require all quests completed or level grinding, the last and toughest achievement in this DLC is killing Crawmerax the Invincible... to do this I had to follow guides, you definitely can't fight fair if you're a solo player. Price: Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is priced at $9.99, this game is easily worth it's price in content, but if that's not enough for you, you can wait for a sale, or simply purchase the borderland Game of the Year Edition $29.99. Conclusion: If you liked the core borderlands game... you'll probably enjoy this DLC more then the original game. The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is when you started to see foreshadowing for the borderlands2 gameplay/graphics/voiced-cutsceens/style experience... it wasn't borderlands2 yet, but it was getting there. I recommend this DLC for anyone who wants to experience the borderlands storyline, get some awesome loot, and/or work on getting all achievements for the game. ------Edits and updates------ Borderlands 1 Edit/Update September 18, 2015: Here's the URL to see my review for Borderlands Here's the URL to see my review for The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned Here's the URL to see my review for Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot Here's the URL to see my review for Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution

I have to be honest; this DLC pissed me off. If you hate games that constantly send you back and forth over a long and tedious distance again and again this DLC is not for you. Without the forced driving back and forth this waste of time would be maybe 2 hours long at best. Instead it took me a solid day, driving through the same stretch of highway again, and again, and again...

The best DLC out of all of the four, although I have to admit I'm not really a fan of any of them. Former assassin Athena wants to help the Vault Hunters put down Atlas Corporation which is planning to take control of planet Pandora. To do this you have to contact Athena but you find out she has been kidnapped by a leader of an old, rundown prison. There are lots of good things added and the best ones are the new boss, which is hardest in the whole game, and the amount of loot available. I don't know if I'm in the minority when I say this but I think all of the bosses in Borderlands are pretty bad and really easy to kill. But the the big crab-like monster Crawmerax is quite hard even with a full team. And when you kill it, it drops a ton of loot. Then there's the Lance troopers, which are more powerful than your average bandits, and they also drop a lot of gear. The whole DLC is one of the best places to look for good items. Other good addition is the new enemy called Drifter. They're big creatures with long legs and they crawl up from the ground without making a sound. When you kill one, another one comes up and takes its place. It's dangerous to get out of the car and loot their carcass because one of their friends could get close without you noticing. I consider Drifters the most terrifying enemies in the game. But there is one downside which majorly bothers me and it's the amount of driving you have to do around the whole area of the DLC. And there is no fast traveling either. The area you travel is like one big, straight and long motor road with multiple stops in-between and at the ends. At the middle is sort of a main hub: the place where you get most of your quests and return them. When you complete a quest you have to drive all the way back to turn it in. It's easier and faster to quit to the main menu and then go back because you always spawn near the place where you return your quests. It's the forced traveling, driving and going back and forth that takes so much time and really hampers your mood.

    Personal Rating: 3/5 - Mixed

Best of the DLCs but you should really just get the GOTY edition instead of picking these up one by one. They all add enough to the game to be worth playing though this one is definitely the most important one as far as additions go and the plot being a continuation of the main story also is nice.

The third DLC from Borderlands, this DLC pits you up against the familiar Crimson Lance that has been around since the beginning of Borderlands aswell as new enemies. Released in 25. february 2010, I only played this in late 2014 despite purchasing it atleast a few years ago. I was honestly worried I had grown out of Borderlands gameplay due to the large amount of other games I have played since 2010. I was satisfyingly surprised. This DLC has some amazing scenery despite alot of it being desert. The main quest hub is set in a town located on an old highway path system, high above the ground. Surrounded by sand, long gone bones of massive creatures that once walked (Or swam?) around Pandora and other debris familiar in the game, the world itself in this DLC is truely a one of a kind. I'd admit that I loved the scenery and main hub for quests so much, that if it were possible, it would be one place I'd love to live a life out, despite it's dangers. The quests also force you, through the highway roads, between large mountains of rock and into new zones of desert. All connected through these highways. Familiar faces from the main game appear again, aswell as former enemies and bosses. There are also new enemies aswell as creatures that haunt the vast desert. You will be fighting everything from the regular crimson soldiers and assassins to their robot warfare units, spider-like alien creatures to bandits, convicts and not to forget, midgets riding scags. While some of the enemies are clearly re-textured, it is well done and stays true to the classic humour the vanilla game offered. This DLC also offers the toughest boss battle in whole of Borderlands and is tough even with a four player group. Storyline wise, the DLC is rather simple and straight forward, with no unexpected surprises. It revolves mainly around the Crimson Lance and General Knoxx, which are linked to the original game's storyline, and leads to many insights into the Crimson Lance itself, without revealing too much. The DLC also increases your max level by 11 more to 61. Included aswell are new guns and class mods, but other than the boss dropped weapons that are specifically named, I honestly didn't notice what was new among the dropped loot. The only real big annoyance I had with this DLC was that you simply can't fast travel to the other zones. If you stop the game, next time you play, you are placed at the main quest hub, and must drive the whole way back to the previous zone you were in, whether you have a quest there or not. The longest stretch would be atleast five minutes or more driving around the same highways to reach your destination. If you can only play around an hour for whatever reason, then this is something you should keep in mind, as you will repeat it alot. There are also a few quests that ask of you to go to the very same place, atleast three times, and doing the exact same thing. If you are looking to get the achievements for this DLC, this small part might be an annoying drag of your time. Overall this DLC is extremely entertaining with lots of classic Borderlands content and humour, has a great and well thoughtout scenery. The story itself is simple yet when thought about more closely, perhaps abit sad. And whether you're lazy or have/when you have completed the DLC story, take a look at this link for more interesting information: http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/Admiral_Mikey

I'm only writing these DLC reviews because they can be acquired separately, but my suggestion is to buy the Game of the Year Edition will all content. I barely recommend getting this one, and only because if heavily features the Crimson Lance, my favorite and grossly underused antagonists from the main campaign. Also cool cars. And the only raid boss in the game, Crawmerax, the big fat alien lobster. But playing through the whole thing feels like a chore. Like a Peter Jackson film it feels like it's ending four times before it actually does. Travelling takes way too long and locations won't be saved so be prepared to do a lot of travelling if you dare to play this in short bursts. General Knoxx's really overstays its welcome.

Utterly tedious with driving around everywhere and getting sent back to TBone junction when you log out - forces you to do vast stretches in one sitting or pay the price in wasted time rinsing the same mobs over and over. How did anyone think this wasn't the worst idea ever?!

Very grindy, you have to run from point A to point B a lot. Are some funny moments, but overall not an impressive product.

None of the first Borderlands DLCs have posts you can teleport to like you can in Borderlands 2's and the Pre-Sequel's DLCs. Normally, this isn't a problem, but with The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, it was the kiss of death for me. This very well might be the best DLC of the first Borderlands when it comes to matters like comedy, story, loot rewards, fresh content, etc., but if you don't intend on playing the whole thing in a very small number of sittings, and don't play through a certain main quest, you will be re-hashing tons of travelling, and it got incredibly old. If you don't know to play through a certain main quest to completion on a later map, there is a highway map which you will have to drive through partially, and run through an enemy-filled area again and again. Imagine if, every time you wanted to go do a quest in Borderlands 2, you had to play through the Dam to its end each time before you could do any quest. If you complete a specific quest that the game never tells you clears the highway, then this is resolved so you can just drive right through the very long and enemy-filled portion, but like I said, the game doens't let you know this. I probably had to fight my way through that highway part 7 or 8 times each playthrough, because I tend to have a completionist lean when it comes to doing quests in games (side quests first, then main quests), so the highway remained a pain in the rear. Despite knowing what I know now, driving through the highway section every time would still be annoying. There is no legitimate reason why at least 2 teleportation spots couldn't have been put into the game: one after the highway, and another someplace else you'd visit frequently outside of T-Bone Junction. I cannot condone this laziness in design, and it caused me to have a crappy time with what could have been a favorite DLC based on its other merits.
