  Watched early playthroughs of the game on youtube, started playing the demo and was happy to find that the vibes are indeed apocalyptic (lol), followed the development on Discord. Dev is really responsive and bug fixes and issues were solved fairly quickly for a one man team. Only played 3 hrs so far but I can't wait to see what else is in store for me when I get further in, would recommend.

  I really love this game and its art style. But the game was too hardcore for me, and every death lowered character's HP. If it can add easy game level, then so much the better.

  The game oozes atmosphere and is one of the better looking GZDoom games. I hope that the developer will update it regulary and wil polished it to a flawless indie gem, as now there are some clunky mechanics and bugs that have to be sorted out. The platforming parts are annoying and when the enemies shoot at you they will never miss, but with enough patience you can get immersed in the game and have a great post-apocaliptic adventure.

  Sometimes, a man just wants to sit by the campfire and stare at the flames after a long day in the apocalypse... this game gives us that. 5 stars. Props to the devs for this game. I love the atmosphere and the 'Apocalyptic vibes' that it gives.

  The game is a mess, very buggy and janky. The dev does a very poor job of explaining and guiding the player. For instance I got softlocked because I didn't know I had to buy a gas mask from this one specific trader that was in this one particular area and he only sold it during the prologue so I couldn't go back realizing I made a mistake to buy the mask from him. He only sells filters by the time I needed the actual mask since my char was taking damage every time I would step outside. The writing and dialogue are terrible, full of typos and bad pronunciation. It's as if it was written by a 12 year old. The platfoming parts are pretty bad and are basically railroaded in which is a mistake since player movement is so restricting compared to other gzdoom games. Running and jumping feels terrible. On the plus side the visuals and aesthetics are pretty nice. The gun play isn't bad, it's decent enough to look pass the terrible writing. But overall I wouldn't recommend it for the price tag alone, which is pretty steep for a game of this caliber. Maybe if it was 10 euros I could give it a pass but even then I would still wait for the dev to patch the game up until its in a more playable state. Which is a shame since I enjoyed the demo when I played it back in the summer. The game left a nice impression on me and I was looking forward to the release.

  Apocalyptic Vibes plays kind of like a mix between Stalker and Metro2033. The combat is quick and deadly as in Stalker, but the level progression is linear similar to Metro. The player dies in only a few shots, but so do enemies, so it's important to use cover and avoid taking on too many enemies at once. It took me around six hours to finish the story. The difficulty ramps up toward the end as you have to adapt to more fog and rain conditions. I even found myself tuning to the weather station and waiting out the fog on one occasion. Health is regenerated slowly by eating or quickly by using an emergency medkit. Medkits cause you to take a bit of damage first, but regenerate most of your health and quickly as the trade off. Currently there are only human enemies, Apocalyptic Vibes has very few supernatural elements compared to its influences. I look forward to further updates and bugfixes, but what's here already is very cool.

  Seems very fun but it is an insanely buggy mess. Now i can tolerate much of it, like the game losing its mind should you dare do anything other than follow the path. But i just can't accept the fact that after having to re-install it like half a dozen times just because i made a mistake and pressed 'record' on a cassette that refused to revert back to default after numerous loading and even new games.. that after all that, making carefull saves, that now the game flatout refuses to load my saves! I have changed nothing, all i did was exit the game as it was working just fine at the time, and an hour later i wanted to play again and now it refuses to even load up saves. That kinda does it for me. Now for the game itself, it seems really fun from what i can get out of it, but i literally cant play anymore unless i start over for the 8th time and thats something i just dont feel like doing in a game that may or may not at some point decide to nope out on me.

  I put 4 hours into the demo and knew I'd buy the game at release, hell I even tried to get developer to let me pre-order it. The problem is that whilst I enjoyed my time with the game, I'm not sure I can recommend it to others. Let me list my gripes with the game first. - There are still quite a lot of grammatical errors and mistranslations on release. - Hardcore mode doesn't seem that well implemented when you can just manually save. - the game is VERY short, my playtime was 2.2 hours, but I spent a fair bit of time with the game running in the background. - Jumping puzzles. - cutscenes/transitions felt kinda janky? like I was still in control with a black screen and the game expects me to press W. - I would've liked more world building, or more depth in the story. - I wanted more brutal resource management, there was a point when I had maximum shotgun ammo and currency. - Even though I didn't buy the gas mask, I never encountered radiation during my playthrough. If you like games with punishing combat, single fire weapons, a nostalgia driven soundtrack, obvious influences from "hardcore" games like stalker whilst being wrapped up in a doom style chunky architecture, then you'll probably like this, but even then the price tag might scare you off.

  It does have apocalyptic vibes but not much else. The plot is super jarring and nonsensical, you slaughter a dozen enemies and then in the next room they're all friendly (same models and everything), the ending is super sudden and underwheming, and the game costs like $20 for a "story" 2.5 hours long. The gunplay is cool tho
