  [h1] Disclamer: I changed my review based on developer feedback in the comments [/h1] Here are my reasons why you should wait on this game and check back in when more updates are released. I've been around the block when it comes to TD games in every genre and this game is pretty straight forward. Some positives to take away are that the art direction and the general 'feel' of the game are pretty neat and the concept is definitely one of a kind. 1. [b] Bugs [/b]. I've encounter a total of 34 bugs having only played for 10 hours. With each new revision of this game it seems like the devs add new bugs while not addressing any previous issues. The talent tree is completely broken (clicking on talents sometimes does not work), enemies get stuck on everything and can be bugged out of the pathing area, etc. 3. [b] There is no game balance [/b]. I can't tell which tower type goes against which enemy type. Even if that were apparent the game throws so many enemies at you it makes all single target towers irrelevant when there are 100+ enemies in one wave. Some enemies have special abilities when they get hit a la speeding up when hit by an aoe, but this just causes the game to become needlessly tedious and frustrating. The aoe tower is essentially the only one you will ever need with one occasional single target tower. 4. [b] Difficulty is just an illusion [/b]. The harder the difficulty the less lives you have to spare for each wave. However, the same amount of waves and enemies are thrown at you. So the enemies will still be just as tough on wave 8 on easy as they are on wave 8 on hard. You'll just be able to get to the next wave on easy before losing all your lives because you have more to spare. 4. [b] Less is not more [/b]. The game leans on the fact that you are playing in 2000 B.C. and no written language is given. Thus, menu options are given as caveman (and cavewomen!) artwork to help navigation, as well as what enemies are vulnerable to. This is a very neat and cute concept [i] AT FIRST [/i] but then gets old real fast real quick. I think if the menu options and the story overall were given in the show don't tell format that would be I would just want what the different enemy types and vulnerabilities are to be laid out in plain [insert your language here]. 5. [b] The talent tree is nonsensical [/b]. There is too much going on in the talent tree, with the placement of progression nodes I can't tell what leads into what or how many points it takes to get there or what's even good. I can't tell if the sniper tree attribute in the aoe tree will also to help with the actual sniper tree in the single target spear tree. I can't tell why I'm not able to progress past a certain point in the tree with the cost of all talents being 99 when I only have 18 thus far. I don't get what the hints are or how to figure them out I guess. I understand that I can be a bit of a caveman myself when it comes to grasping some of these concepts but this game needed to be polished quite a bit more before it was released. TLDR; Game needs some work; developers are working on it and are responsive (see coments); I'll update my review in a few months with the updates coming out.

  A great game, with interesting mechanics and nice graphics from one famous game, will drag you out for more than one hour, I advise you to buy

  I understand Early Access and completely support indie developers. Especially TD games, which is a genre I've loved since the Starcraft/Warcraft custom maps days. However, I can't support this trash. - Game launched as Project77 executable. It has No Menu, No Text description for anything. - After completing the first stage 3 times. It will not let me advance to the second stage. Either this is a bug or the game only has the first stage completed at the moment. - The "Build your tower anywhere" is a false advertisement, I've played enough TD games to know I've been lied to in this regards. Towers snaps to certain location, and objects (trees/rocks) block other locations that the developers don't want you to build towers on. So, NO, you cannot build towers anywhere. - This isn't even Early Access, its like Very Early Pre-Alpha Access.

  Game Name: Age of Defense Release[Early Access]: 27 May, 2019 Game Type/Genre: Tower Defense. Theme: Cartoon, fantasy, Stone Age. Difficulty: Average. AI: Dumb as a rock. Pros: +Funny cartoon style graphics +Background music is enjoyable +Several different towers. +Several different enemies. +Did I mention Boss fights?:) +Easy to learn. +Can Run on a potato. +Price. Cons: -Too short (only 4 missions available atm) -No achivmets. -No trading cards. Overall it is a fine game to skip some time.

  A new game from the already familiar team that specializes in Tower Defense games. A little strange graphic menu, drawn in the style of ancient cave drawings, but after a couple of mouse clicks, everything becomes clear and simple. Cool animated intro before each level, drawn in the same ancient cave style. Music - made with high quality, it is unobtrusive. The gameplay is a little bit similar to other TD games, but all the same has differences. The player has several different game units with different speeds and different defeat strengths. Units can be put on almost any place, for them there are no fixed places. Still, the player has access to various additional means of killing monsters, for example: you can drop a stone on them or put sharp wooden stakes in their way. And the stone lying on the road prevents the monsters from moving forward, and your units have the opportunity to destroy them while they are standing still. In the game there are many types of sympathetic monsters that sometimes come out of the most unexpected places. Sometimes bosses crawl out, which is not so easy to destroy. One of the most important advantages of the game - the minimum requirements for hardware. The only things that did not like: the blood of the monsters which is not absorbed into the ground and slightly acidic and very unusual colors of the environment. Otherwise, I was very pleased with this game and recommend it for purchase.

  Tower Defense. Looks like Kingdom Rush. - Features - No buildfields! You can place towers anywhere you want. -- Welp, yes. You can place towers everywhere except obstacles and road. And you must place near road to kill mobs, so... Hard game, spent 1 hour for second level(before notice about changing difficulty). The main disadvantage - no menu with settings. Early access, keep in mind.

  Very promising and beautiful implementation of "Tower Defense". I'm giving this a tentative thumbs up. A good game with a lot of potential and even though it is in early access. I wish the amazing, friendly devs lots of good luck! this game deserves to succeed.   I'm afraid I rushed to buy this new game from Battle Cruiser without really checking it out and I was disappointed. Tower placement not pre-set? Yes, but it's so constrained that it doesn't matter. Cool graphics as usual? Yes, but critters are designed to be so primitive-looking that it's hard to make them interesting, and the music is decidedly banal . Good game play? Yes, despite a very frustrating location of "special weapon" icons that often prevents you from using them for a last minute save. Overall, not a bad game but no reason to spend 20-30 hours on it either.

  Enjoyable defense game, very similar to others by this publisher. The only negative I'd say is whilst they think it is 'cute' to have all icons/upgrade/etc. done as caveman-esque paintings, it does make it difficult to tell what upgrades you're actually going for, etc. (conveniently you can open a webpage which explains what the differences are, etc. but as the default game is full screen this isn't that useful)
