The legend of La Llorona revolves around the specter of a woman who wanders around different places, near rivers, lakes, towns and cities, lamenting the crime she has committed, murdering her children.

Legend has it that, in the middle of the 16th century, during the nights of the full moon, the residents of Mexico City would wake up startled to hear the loud laments of a woman, who shouted: Oh my children!
