The King of Siralim, tainted by an unknown force, has brought war to the lands of Rodia, capturing all of the country's kingdoms and slaughtering their people in the process. Now, only one kingdom remains that can stand against this unlikely adversary: Nex. As the king (or queen) of Nex, it is your job to fight back against Siralim's tyranny and return peace to Rodia once more.

If you're in a hurry, we've written a short list of features Siralim 3 has to offer. You can read about each feature in more detail by scrolling down past this list.

  • Collect and breed over 700 different creatures to fight for you.

  • Explore randomly generated dungeons with 15 unique tilesets.

  • Craft artifacts and spell gems to equip your creatures for battle.

  • Infinite playability - there's not even a level cap. New features are introduced well-beyond the 100-hour mark. You'll never run out of things to do!

  • Rich end-game content, including Itherian Realms, super-bosses, arena battles, and much more!

  • Asynchronous player-versus-player battles. If you win, you'll earn exclusive items!

  • Content updates and patches are planned to add even more content to the game post-launch!

  • Take part in our community, contribute your suggestions, and let's create the ultimate monster taming game together!

Your primary goal in this game is to collect creatures to fight for you. There are over 700 in total, and each one has a unique trait that improves its abilities in battle.

You can acquire new creatures either by finding them in the wild, or by breeding two of your own creatures to make them lay an egg. For example, you can create a Gula Sin by breeding together a Wyvern Sonicscreecher and an Aaxer Apocalypse.

Keep your eyes open for ultra-rare "Singular" creatures, which are creatures that have a unique color scheme compared to their normal counterparts.

Each creature also has its own lore that you can read about in the library. In total, our creature lore contains more than 55,000 words. That's the size of a novel!

Take your creatures into randomly generated dungeons called "Realms". There, you'll fight against enemies that can be killed to increase your creatures' experience points, as well as drop resources and items that you can use to further improve your party.

There are 15 different tilesets for Realms, and each Realm offers exclusive creatures, quests, events, and much more.

Your creatures can equip items called Spell Gems, which allow them to cast the spells contained in these gems. You can enchant these Spell Gems to add new properties to them which change the way the spell works. For example, you can customize the type of damage the spell does, or cause the spell to activate an additional effect after a creature casts it.

There are over 300 Spell Gems to find in the game, and over 20 properties that you can add to each spell. The possibilities are endless!

Each of your creatures can also equip an Artifact. Artifacts are items that grant the equipped creature a wide array of bonuses. These bonuses range anywhere from a simple boost to their attacks, all the way to granting them new traits and spells.

Artifacts have randomly generated properties, but you can also utilize over 1000 different crafting materials to add, remove, or modify these properties. Different creatures work better with different properties, so you'll need to experiment to figure out what works best for your team!

There's an insane amount of rare items and accomplishments to collect. Here's a brief list... and believe it or not, this doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

  • Cards - these rare items have a small chance to drop from enemies after you defeat them. They grant bonuses to you and your creatures just by having them in your inventory. It will take a long time to find all of the 700+ cards in the game!

  • Talismans - these work a lot like Cards in that they provide you with passive bonuses. However, by completing certain end-game content, you can upgrade your Talismans to improve the bonus and even unlock new powers!

  • Favor - There are 15 gods in the game, and you can increase your favor with each one. As you do so, you'll unlock new game features, creatures, items, and more!

  • Knowledge - the more you defeat a certain creature, the more knowledgeable you'll become about it, which unlocks new bonuses when you're fighting against that creature. Eventually, you'll be able to see a creature's health/mana bars in battle, view their lore in the library, deal additional damage to them, gain more experience points and resources by defeating them, and increase their chance to drop their Card.

  • Singular Creatures - each creature in the game has a "Singular" counterpart. Singular Creatures are extremely difficult to find and have a unique color palette.

  • Achievements - the game has hundreds of achievements for you to collect. When you earn an achievement, you'll gain some Achievement Points which improve the quality and quantity of loot you'll find during your travels.

  • Wardrobe and Titles - you can unlock new costumes for your character to wear (such as a chef's uniform), as well as titles that change your name (so you might go from being called "King James" to "James the Drunk"). Wardrobes and titles can be seen by other players when you participate in asynchronous player-versus-player battles.

Don't you hate when a good game comes to an end? We do too. That's why Siralim 3 never truly ends.

There's not even a level cap. You can continue leveling your character and creatures forever, all while still finding new challenges waiting for you just around the corner. We've crafted every game mechanic around players who want to someday accumulate hundreds, if not thousands of hours of playtime.

Completing the game's main story quests is just the beginning. After that, you'll unlock countless new systems to keep you entertained for hundreds of hours to come.

Here's a brief list of some of the game's end-game content, but again, there's so much more to this game than we can possibly write here.

  • Itherian Realms - these work like normal Realms (as we described earlier), except these have randomly generated properties that change the way the enemies or even the Realm itself behaves. You can acquire and upgrade Talismans in Itherian Realms in order to bolster your party. You can even find the elusive Itherian Creatures here, which are rare creatures that have unique traits you won't find anywhere else.

  • Tavern Brawls - fight against other players' creatures in asynchronous player-versus-player combat. You can earn exclusive Spell Gems, creatures, and other items if you win!

  • End-Game Quests - a never-ending supply of quests and missions for you to complete long after you experience the main storyline quests.

  • Super Bosses - we can't spoil what these are or how they work here, but rest assured that you'll face plenty of grueling challenges by fighting these bosses... and you'll be handsomely rewarded if you manage to win.

  • Arena - draft a team of creatures and see how many enemies you can take down before your party is wiped out.

  • More is on the way! We're committed to bringing content updates that include tons of awesome, end-game content after the game launches.

Sometimes, the right question isn't "Can I do it?" but "Should I do it?". I don't think the creator of this game ever asked himself this question when making this game. Siralim 3 is simultaneously the most bare bones and most complex creature collecting game ever made. It has hundreds of monsters with unique traits, hundreds of spells, over a dozen different buffs and debuffs and item types, and... You get the idea. There is a lot of content in this game, but nothing really feels substantial. Monsters do have unique traits, yes, but most of them either require highly specific team compositions to work, or they are just generic cookie cutter traits. It's really cool to be able to get traits on weapons so you can mix and match traits in a specific way to suit your team, but it also means that monsters lose their identity. In the end, they are just stat blocks with slightly different appearances - they are grouped into species with a bunch of subspecies that have a slightly different colour palette and maybe two details that differ from one another - and a trait that you can also get from an item instead. I have never really felt a connection to any of the creatures I used. Breeding (/ Fusion) is a staple of creature collectors that follow games like Dragon Quest Monsters (/ Dragon Warrior Monsters), but Siralim 3 messes this up as well. Because creatures are all somewhat equal in stats and their traits are mostly equal in power - if you account for specific traits being more powerful in certain situations -, breeding also loses its importance. In other games, every bred monster is either significantly stronger than its two parents and so gives you a noticeable boost in power, or it is a monster that you need as material for one of the strong monsters. This pyramid-like structure of monster breeding progression has its own flaws, but in my opinion it’s much more fun that what Siralim 3 does. Here you just breed for tiny stat increases and to get the right monster class and/or trait and/or stat spread, which feels almost unnoticeable. Also, if you play without turbo mode, it will probably take you around ten hours to even get the ability to breed. The only way to realistically play this game without wasting a hundred hours of your time just in the story is by using turbo mode, which lets you hold down one button to make your monsters do what you told them to do in advance. This works really well for the thousands of regular battles you will have while grinding, but it also takes all of the fun out of it. And even with turbo mode on from the beginning, this second run of the story that I just completed took me 11 hours. The story is supposed to be a tutorial for all of the different systems but it never really forces you to engage with them and you can ignore almost all of it (even the breeding!) if you just use the two starter monsters and four of the monsters given to you from acquiring the gods’ favour and grind a bit (I was still forty levels below the story bosses when beating them…). And the grind, oh god the grind. You grind for levels, for cards, for items, for spell gems, for materials, for achievements, the list goes on and on. After properly having set up your team, which you will most likely do by going on the Discord and looking at spreadsheets for hours and maybe asking other people for advice, you will just hold down one button for hours upon hours and get ever so slightly stronger. And you are encouraged to grind because you need a lot of resources and you need a lot of exp because the realms ramp up in difficulty way too quickly, with a bunch of nasty difficulty spikes. This whole thing just doesn’t seem fun to me, it’s just a glorified idle / incremental game. It is super addictive, but not fun. I really tried to like this game, because DQM is one of my all-time favourite games, but it just doesn't work for me. Maybe I expected too much DQM and didn’t give Siralim a fair chance. Maybe I dislike it so much because it reminds me of my gacha and idle / incremental game phase. Maybe I played the game “wrong” and should’ve played differently. Maybe I didn’t play long enough to see the better parts of this game. Maybe I was mistaken and I’m just not the target audience of the game. But I can say one thing for certain: I hate this game.

After watching/playing some Pokemon with the kids, this feels like a logical next step. Great fun, and so much to discover, learn, and collect.

This game has been out for a little bit longer now, and it's improved 10 fold. I've checked in on the forums every now and again, just to see how the creator is getting along and taking criticism/advice. All of my original complaints, about crashing, or resizing windows, or ui can't be applied anymore, which I'm so thankful for. I've beaten it by now, the base game at least, but there is so much content that I could play this for as long as I want, and still discover more things about the game. If you've played any of the previous games, or if you've been looking for something to scratch that itch with monster collecting and complicated numbers and stats and lots of customization, I cannot recommend this game enough. Original review above! Can't really be applied anymore, since the creator fixed almost all of the problems <3 I had high hopes for this game, from what I have played of two, and so far... well everything is better than I would have expected. I had only played on the phone before, but 3 is exceeding all of my expectations placed by two. Perhaps there weren't too many people excited for this game, but I was waiting eagerly to play this, so I could play it the minute it came out! However... I've already had a crash. I've only been playing it for 20 minutes, and I'm not doing anything crazy. I turned on Turbo Mode, and was holding the attack button. I made it to the second layer, and then the game just crashed. There was also the problem that I couldn't really figure out how to change and resize the window settings? I feel like it should have been a lot more accessible, but perhaps I was just so excited I couldn't find it. It's very clearly an early access, but it shows so much potential, and I'm in love.

I'll keep it short: this is one of the most fun and addictive games I've ever played! It's basically an infinite and procedurally generated monster taming RPG, with 700+ creatures, 15 different biomes, no level caps, infinite inventory and much, much more. If you're coming from Siralim 2, expect a lot of quality of life changes, redesigned mechanics and a much faster progression - basically, everything that wasn't good in the previous game (like Power Balance and some battles that took ages to finish) is gone now, leading to a much more enjoyable experience. Also, the developer is extremely dedicated and patch the game with bugfixes as soon as they're reported. Despite being in Early Access, Siralim 3 is very feature complete, with all story bits and bosses implemented. 100% recommended!

This is so far the best "Mystic Quest-ish meets taming creatures" game I ever have played in the last about 30 gaming years for me! Awesome work, Thylacine Studios! :) (A more detailed review follows later when I have completed the game with 100% achievements and 700 found rare cards ingame!)

I don't review games often, mainly because i always feel like someone else has already said what i wanted to say, and honestly in this day and age there are usually better places then the steam reviews page to figure out if you want to purchase a game or not. Im breaking that rule because this game is not likely to break out in the mainstream but dose deserve more praise. I played the second game a bit, and i could really see what it was going for, but the slow run speed really burned me out of the early game to the point where i couldn't stand running around the realms anymore (i do know it gets better, just never got that far). This one though still in early access has me convinced i will play it off and on for at least the rest of the year, it fixes my issues with the second game and it feels like it starts faster as well as having a better pace to the battles. Even though i only have around 5 hours in it so far i can just tell its going to click with me this time, part of me wishes i had given 2 a better shot, but im also glad that i didn't as i fell like its a fresh new experience. If you like monster breeding and collecting along with team building and grinding you will love this, i love all the monsters i have seen so far and even with just the early ones you can come up with so many ways to synergize them its crazy. That combined with your class perks and no two players could even have quite the same experience. Also the pixel art is great, i love seeing what my guys look like once there on the team trailing behind me. the detail is crazy for the amount of pixels that are there. Sure its a bit grindy and you may burn out on it eventually, but by then you will have gotten your 15$ worth easy. Gets rid of the fluff and down to the meat faster which is what i want from something like this.

To my knowledge, I have never written a negative review for any game. Unfortunately, in S3's case, I feel compelled to make an exception. DISCLAIMER - long review. TLDR version; multiple grievances culminating in a big casual whine, probably won't make a lot of sense to people new to the series. I really liked Siralim 1, and I adored Siralim 2. Siralim 3 is still in early access, and as a result I pray that certain things are still being ironed out, because in the short time that I've been playing the game a lot of little irritations have been clawing at my scalp. I'm not sure what going on here, but I've listed 6 concerns (varying in severity) that I already have with this latest instalment: 1. Ahnkol Tremor aka The Worst Introductory Monster In A Game Where You Have To Hit Stuff Or You Die One of the first creatures you will encounter in battles is the Ahnkol Tremor (unless the creature seeding is random idk). You'll know it when you see it, looks like a green and white prehistoric squid on legs. Its passive ability is this: "When an enemy attacks, this creature has a 35% chance to interrupt it." I don't know if any of you remember one of the Pokemon games from about 10 years ago had a fucking bit in it where you went in a cave with permanent misty fog in it which meant that battles lasted three times as long because you had to sit there with your hands in your pants and a rock on the select button, watching your idiot pets (and the enemy idiot pet) miss every attack. That's what facing an Ahnkol Tremor (or two, or three, hey maybe even four if you're really lucky) is like. Missing attacks is not fun. In Siralim games, you make attacks constantly. 78% of the game is attacking stuff, so why have they dumped a Fun Police creature in the first pool of enemy encounters? You will get absolutely sick of watching your most powerful attacker miss and miss and miss as his allies slowly die around him. And this will happen at the worst possible time, believe me. Which brings me to... 2. If You Die, You Lose Your Stuff In previous Siralim games, you had a thing called Power Balance. Every time you defeated a mob, your Power Balance would go up. This would increase the rewards you got, but also increase the relative power of the mobs you faced. When you died, you lost a significant amount of Power Balance. Apparently people didn't like this mechanic so it was removed (it was a bit meta-gamey, but inoffensive in my opinion). In S3, with Power Balance gone. they clearly had to think about some sort of alternative death consequence (I honestly don't think this is necessary in a game that goes to such lengths to encourage experimentation, and also relies so heavily upon resource collection), and have gone for item loss - specifically, if you die in a realm, everything that you picked within that realm is lost. This includes creature cores. I repeat - It. Includes. Creature. Cores. I will be brief. I believe that going for this as a primary death consequence in this game is an awful decision. It multiplies the busywork involved (have fun extracting all those cores again), and it engenders a sickening Dark Souls esque anxiety as you play and see a monster heading towards you, and not in good way. Why not? Because.... 3. Siralim 3's Enemies Are Now A Wandering RNG Circus Troupe Once you get in the game proper, you will be facing 6 enemy creatures in every single encouter. Every single individual creature will have a piece of FULLY enchanted equipment, and will have a FULL complement of Spell Gems. What this means is that it is entirely possible that half your team will be dead before you get your first turn with one of your creatures (who by that time may well be stunned/poisoned/silenced). The worst part of this? This same wanton RNG also affects the BOSS BATTLES. Dear god, I used to hate the boss battles in S2 at the best of times, but now, you cannot even develop a sensible strategy against the bosses because every single time you face them, their ally creatures are randomized, their equipment is randomized, their spell gems are randomized. You want to know the best strategy now for killing bosses? Just keep restarting the battle until you get favourable RNG. Pathetic. Oh, but there is one bit of S3 that's not random..... 4. They Stopped The Randomization of the Realms (for the first 10+ hours at least) I'll say it again. I don't know what's going on here. Siralim has always been, and always will be a total grindfest, but an ENJOYABLE grindfest. For me, a significant part of what made the grind bearable in S2 was the fact that you were constantly encountering different realms, with different Gods, music, monsters, and color palettes. Not anymore. The realms you visit now follow a STRICT order of story introduction. First you go to Angry God's realm, and there you will STAY until you defeat the boss. Then you go to the Magic God's realm, and you STAY until you defeat the boss. Et cetera. You will use the teleportation thingy to start a run, and there will no longer be any sense of curiosity as to what realm you might end up in. Because you will already know. It's the same one as last time hype. But there's something else now, something making the grind even worse.... 5. Enemies Respawn In Realms Why? Why did this have to happen? The satisfaction of fully clearing a realm, now a bitter memory. WHAT IS GOING ON? 6. They Made Re-Rolling Stats With The Blacksmith More Expensive, Then Made Enchanting Materials Rarer Want to get that 15% chance to get Shell On Hit? Get grinding, bitch. Summary: No one big thing is making me give this game a thumbs down. I love the Siralim franchise - I have bought all three games, and left a glowing review of S2 previously. But S3 just seems to be proving itself inferior to its predecessor again and again. But one thing I do know is that the developers of this game are good people. Very good people. They are dedicated and responsive, and I believe that they read the reviews of their game and act accordingly. Maybe I'm just being a casual crybaby and need to go back to Slay The Spire or whatever, but maybe a couple of the things I mention are resonating with you guys too. If things ever improve, I will drop this thumbs down in a heartbeat. I really want to, after all. :)

First of all, this game is amazing! It needs to be said that, the story-line does not take itself seriously. At all. If you are looking for a story driven RPG, turn away now. I have some friends who were instantly turned off by the art and I can't say I blame them. Some of the creatures are, downright, butt-ugly. Some sound effects can be jarring at times, especially while playing in turbo mode. At first, I was hesitant to call it a 'sequel' and I had a hard time recommending it to friends who purchased Siralim 2 already. Simply because most of the core gameplay, art, and sound effects were just recycled from Siralim 2. After putting over 45 hours into the game and completing the main quest I have a greater appreciation for the upgrades that Siralim 3 has. The game runs much smoother and much faster. In Siralim 2 I was always needing to optimize my team of monsters just to keep the battles from dragging on too long. Now, in Siralim 3 I feel that I have even more freedom in choosing a strategy because the loading and what-not are quicker. There are now tons of Quality of Life changes that make the game that much more enjoyable. If you have already enjoyed Siralim 2 then Siralim 3 is an amazing upgrade That being said, the sheer possibilties of monster team combos is what makes this game awesome. You play with up to 6 creatures in your team each having at least 1 unique Trait/ability and can have multiple spells each. The amount of interactions between Traits and Spells allows for very unique strategies and gameplay styles. Your main character will also have the ability to level up and obtain powerful upgrades that will then interact with your monsters. The possibilities are nearly endless! One specific thing that I really love is that the game has the ability to share your team via copying to clipboard. A best friend and I would always try to come up with cool combos and show them off, now it's even easier. The game already has Cloud Save support, so when it gets a mobile release you will have a great time killer(I played Siralim 2 on PC and Android using my same save, AMAZING) Anyways... I grew up with Dragon Warrior Monsters, Pokemon, Digimon, Dokepon, etc so this game was a perfect match for me. If you enjoyed any of these games, I would definitely consider purchasing this game. I hope for the continued work on this title because I know it can only get better!

You know when people say something is a diamond in the rough? There has perhaps never been another game that exemplifies that phrase as much as this game does. First off, I have to be upfront. This game is not going to blow your mind with its graphics, its music, or its sound design. It's passable and not ugly, but it's no Hollow Knight, or Dead Cells, in that department. The game is buggy. Things sometimes act strangely or not at all. It's not balanced, either. But then, when you have over 700 different creatures, and there's one guy working on the game, what can you expect there? It is, by all counts, rough around the edges. And yet, what it lacks in polish, it more than makes up for in charm and raw gameplay. It scratches so many different itches at once, itches that many games focused on storyline or balance would leave in the dust. It's like a collectathon, a deck builder, an incremental, and a turn based RPG rolled into one. It has so many little pockets of absolute genius in it. It's a game that is simultaneously exceedingly complex, and blissfully casual. It's a game that has me excited for every little new thing I discover. Every new spell, every new monster, every new feature, I'm excited to figure out what it is, I'm excited at the prospect of this new thing to play with and fit into the already overflowing toybox. It drip-feeds a steady stream of new stuff at just the perfect rate, with just the perfect amount of challenge, the perfect amount of punishment, the perfect amount of RNG... It's an amazing creation, a revolutionary example of RPG design, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends. I have a hard enough time trying to get them to play any sort of rogue-like, and none of them like Pokemon, nor grinding out rewards from copious amounts of game systems all at once. But there is a very certain type of player that this would appeal to, and if you are intrigued at all by the game description, then this game may be for you! What you can grind out in the game: - Capture and collect over (apparently) 700 different creatures - Collect resources to summon them all, so they all slowly gain xp while in your stables - Level and breed creatures to optimize their gained stats per level - Collect breeding combinations from papers in game, thousands of them - Every creature has a unique trait; you can find and build crazy synergistic combos - Every creature has an associated card as a rare drop, that gives you tiny permanent bonuses - More than 50% of the creatures have a unique cosmetic variant to find and capture - You have a knowledge level for every creature, the higher it is, the more bonuses you get vs it - Every creature can hold 1 item. Items can have up to 6 properties - (Almost) every property on items can be modified and optimized. You can reroll each of them separately - Every item can also have a trait from a long list, buffing the creature or the team - Every creature can hold 3 spell gems by default, depending on the creature's element - Each spell gem can have varying properties, affecting their spell cost and more. Also can be rerolled - Find, collect, and equip runes, one for each element, out of a short list - Collect and upgrade talismans, named artifacts that give you passive bonuses for owning them - Collect and use skill points to globally improve your team's stats - 817 achievements, and each one ups your global magic find stat a little - Gain the favour of 15 different gods, each with 10 favour tiers - Uncommon emblems for each god, to buy stuff from their specific store - Costumes, a bunch of them - Titles, a bunch of them - Arena battles (draft mode), and tavern brawls (async pvp) that have their own currencies and stores And that's just the stuff until I beat the main story, which I hear is basically the tutorial, with a nearly endless endgame tail. Basically. I just unlocked Itherian Realms, which you have to collect sigils to enter, I think they're conceptually similar to Path of Exile endgame maps. I believe there's a concept around upgrading items by entering them and defeating everything in it, sort of like Item Worlds in Disgaea. I think. I haven't unlocked it. And I don't know exactly what else there is to unlock, but I know there are a few more. There's creature and artifact variants that can only be found in the Itherian Realms, potions that turn one of my six creatures that travel with me into a SUPERCREATURE, with an entirely separate levelling mechanism involving ritual sacrifice, Nemesis monster packs, and the gods only know what else. I've also seen screenshots with 10-digit or higher damage numbers - at the time of beating the final story boss, I'm only doing 3-4 digit damage totals! I also beat it while 30 levels under its level, probably due to a synergistic team composition. Anyway, the game checks a lot of boxes for me with its roguelike, spreadsheets, collection, and optimization aspects. It is a great game to tune out and listen to a podcast with. It has iOS/Android versions as well, though I find them a bit finicky on a small screen, but it has a great custom cloud save system that ensures saves can be transferred back and forth easily and also acts as an ingame emergency save backup system. The entire game is played with 6 keys, WSAD for movement and Q/E for menu selection and combat, and they can be remapped, Jah. That being said, the game can get a bit monotonous when you are levelling up your monsters, so you need to be okay with that. I found a combo that, at least through the main story, wins me a combat in 5 secs by holding down the E button, about 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time, half my team is dead, and I have to stop and see if the other half (my tanks) can either pull off an attrition victory or resurrect the dead dps. I usually pull out a win in about 60-75% of those cases too. There are apparently a lot of different "playstyles" and a lot of superpowered decks you can build toward. You can build insane tactics and combos based around lots of gameplay elements, like chained attacks or effects off of each other, being healed, your creatures dying, being resurrected, stacking buffs, stacking debuffs, summoning monsters, killing off your summoned monsters, inflating stats, deflating enemy stats, forcing your opponents to attack you, playing with the various element trees, autocasted spell gems, having more spell gems than your enemies, temporary 0-cost spell gems, reflecting attacks, super defensive decks, bomb decks, russian roulette style decks, infinite combo decks that never give your opponent a turn, and far, far more. You can also optionally program your team's AI with macros and just hold down a key and see how well they do, adjusting the macros as needed from post-battle reports. To round this off, a few cons that come to mind: - The music and sound effects are okay, but forgettable. That's fine for me as I prefer podcasts anyway. They're not bad, but not memorable. - Some concepts are just not explained well in-game at all. Like heredity. And the breeding window is particularly obtuse with this one. If one of the two you select has heredity from a random looted egg, that won't show up in offspring preview. Offspring preview won't show exact heredity stat. Lich Priests have highest int and lowest attack, but somehow gives +int and -health instead of +int and -attack when bred. Etc. Unexplained inconsistency, which is very bad in this sort of game. - Also a lot of stuff about what overrides what, or if wording is intentional or not, is left to experimentation. E.g. spells and attacks are separate, so a spell does not trigger "attack" effects, but "dealing damage" effects trigger from both of them. - There are some screens where you can see an item and its trait but not what the trait actually does, e.g. when actually picking an artifact to equip on a monster. Have to back out and look at it and then come in again. - You can't access the library in combat, so I don't know what some of my spells do sometimes, casting buffs and debuffs whose effects I haven't memorized yet. - There is no global message/event history, only a global battle one. I've accidentally zoomed past a couple "story cutscene" messages, and also forgotten where I was after taking a break from the game. The game encourages dipping in and out casually but fails to provide a message log to let me remind myself where I was. - The level map is poor. It needs a zoom out function and maybe better colours, or to let you scroll around the actual in-game world. - The game really needs a "fast forward until my next combat turn, then stop" option or button that you can hold down. The default Q does not fast forward anything. E fast forwards but will often go right past your turn (executing your default action) too. - If you are going to have destructible items or interactable NPCs, that you can walk through, then you need a "turn" button. If I'm facing south and there's an unimportant but interactable NPC west of me, I have to go east, then west, in order to talk to the NPC, otherwise I just walk onto his spot. I should just be able to turn west and talk to them. - You do a lot of side quests that claim to be for the improvement of the castle, but don't actually have an ingame effect. I think there's a missed opportunity for more grind there! Still, I stand by what I said at the start, I heartily recommend the game unless you're one of my friends! Er... wait.
