  So I played the pancake version a few years back. Then noticed awhile back they have a VR port. Finally got around to it, its GREAT, graphics amazing, gameplay is great for VR and best its free add on! UNIQUE, Good Stealth, Solid Story. Slow paced as its intended to be more strategic. 10/10

  Excellent Played using the HTC Vive Headset, No problems, No issues of any kind. The Graphics are wonderful but there is a small learning curve for the operation of the controllers. Think this is based on a True Story 🤓 Love the story behind the game and remember big brother is watching you so keep your head down when playing this game 😉 Smiles to all my VR Gaming friends 😛😎😁😵🥴🤠👽

  I love Deus Ex and I was excited to try the game. Unfortunately the 3rd person aspect, constantly changing camera angles, and awkward joystick controls take away from what looks to be a promising concept. If I could play in first person, I think I would really like this game. But as it is, it doesn't work well for me personally.

  (If you plan on streaming this game check PSA at end of review) I was very surprised to see this come to VR!. Years ago, I remember playing Republique on my iPhone, as this game was available as a mobile game. (Not a bad one, it was not a microtransaction type of game, it has an amazing story!) This is a 3rd person point movement puzzle game. You aren't quite the main character, but a hacker helping the main character. I am shocked at how well this plays in VR! The concept of viewing from the camera angles just works SO WELL in VR (Definitely play seated). I think this was what made this experience the most enjoyable for me. It definitely feels like a game that belongs in VR and not a game that was just ported for money. Visually, the game looks very good (from a graphics quality standpoint) and I must say, using the cellphone as a means to display cutscenes was a fantastic idea!. If you've ever tried to watch 360 shows or music videos you'll know what I mean. It's so annoying to be placed in the middle of all the action and keep turning around all the time to keep up with the story. That is NOT AN ISSUE in this game. The camera point of views paired with this cutscene implementation really kept me involved with the story. There was an option to do joystick movement as well (as opposed to point ant click). While I really appreciated this addition, I found it to be a bit odd in usage. This game was originally designed for point and click. I can definitely say it is a much more enjoyable experience playing it as such. Now, I do disagree with the style of saving in this game. But this is not exclusive to the VR version, it's how the game has been. You can easily find save rooms, but, in order to save you have to first find video tapes and can only use them once each to save your progress. I purchased this game today, popped in a 4 hour session, and when a friend asked to play something with me, I had to either give up A LOT of progress(not all 4 hours, but about 25 mins worth), or, look for a video tape. This was so dumb, it took me forever but I eventually I found one and was able to save. Overall, this game is a fantastic buy, especially at $10. I guarantee that the story is there. The gameplay is definitely different, but was implemented VERY WELL for VR Streamer PSA: - The game will auto close/go away from your desktop if the mouse leaves & clicks anything outside of it. This can be a problem for streamers using OVR drop or similar tools for chat. I was able to stop this by simply disabling input from OVR drop. Then I was able to read chat without any issues and without the window going away. Not sure how to do this in ovrtoolkit as I use drop, butt here is how on drop: (Additional settings->Mouse Settings-> VR Click API "none") Hope it helps!

  Wanted to like it, really I did. The story was interesting, and it's a good game when I'm in a more "passive" mood (requires more contemplation, in addition to reading and listening to audio, watching video, etc). But the problem I had wasn't with the content or gameplay, it was the sudden and seemingly random audio cut-outs. I see that others have had audio issues as well, supposedly the developer resolved them somewhat. But despite checking all my hardware and drivers and settings, this game would cause my screen to go black and audio to cut out, and then when the video came back, the audio would still be out; it *might* randomly turn on again later, but anytime it did seemed more of a fluke. It wasn't until Chapter 3 when it started happening a lot that I realized it had to be the game, not my setup. Very rarely in other VR titles do I ever have audio issues, and if/when I do, they're very brief and resolve themselves in-game. Not so with Republique, unfortunately. FWIW

  Love this game, but I do like a good stealth game, so it's a no-brainer. Very reminiscent of the old Metal Gear Solid games

  I wasn't very impressed with this but I decided to see it through to the end. The problem is the movement method, which starts off novel and becomes annoying by the latter half of the game. Also, the main actor is replaced for part of the game by a children's TV show host.
