  You can ignore "Mixed" reviews status. Most of the issues have already been resolved. New story, bunch of new challenging monsters, new weapon moves, new weapons and armors, what else could you ask for? Must have for everyone who enjoyed MHW.

  Most of the negative reviews are about old issues that have been fixed, so you can probably ignore most of the ones that are from early 2020. While the game still doesn't have the best optimization, even my very low spec computer can run this game at a playable level. If you enjoyed the base game, this is definitely a must purchase. It adds a huge amount of new monsters and quests, over doubling the amount of content to play. The clutch claw is the newest tool that players have access to, and while it might not be the best part of the DLC, it is certainly is still fun to use. The new moves allow you for more variety in how you can play your weapon, without changing any of the fundamentals. Master rank is also where the true endgame begins, where you can really start to get a lot of customization options. The armor designs also continue to be beautiful, and with the help of layered armor in master rank you can even work on customizing how you look. The minor things also make a huge impact on the overall experience, such as the personal room you can decorate. Again, if you enjoyed World, Iceborne is a must buy, as it adds so much content to the already great base game.

  dont let the mixed rating and the negative reviews scare you away, iceborne is in every way better than base game and you are missing out. almost every negative review is from when iceborne first launched and there were alot of issues on pc, but these have been fixed for almost over a year, so if you have an okay computer theres nothing to worry about. with that out of the way- iceborne adds every monster that you wish was in base game, layered weapons, multiple new mechanics, new moves for almost every weapon and more. there really arent any reasons not to get this if you enjoyed base game. and even if you didnt all that much, which was the case for me, i can almost promise you that you will enjoy iceborne. this kinda sounds like an ad, and it basically is, because if you just play base and not iceborne you absolutely are missing out and i dont want you to. so summed up; if you play base, get iceborne. i can guarantee that youre missing out. (side note: ive seen some both old and new negative reviews criticizing the clutchclaw, saying that it makes hunts feel more "scripted". this is because you can use the clutchclaw to send monsters flying into walls making them fall over. and while i do agree that this can make hunts feel less dynamic, if you dislike that feeling just dont do it. the game does not force you to, neither directly nor indirectly. its obviously going to make the game easier but if it makes it way too easy you can just refrain from doing it, its that simple. dont let that ruin an otherwise great time. this is however just my personal opinion so do take that into account.)

  Most of the issues from the negative reviews from 2020 are all patched and fixed now. The only thing you should be worried about is the difficulty curve and new mechanics coming from World to Iceborne but other than that, the game is fantastic and gives more content than base World.

  Ignore the mixed overall reviews, as most of the negative reviews cover the DLC when it first came out, which had a tons of glitches/issues that have been fixed. Don't worry about the game-breaking glitches that are listed in the reviews, the game runs smoothly now, and rarely has performance issues. If you loved the base game, then you should definitely get Iceborne. It adds a new mechanic that is super fun to mess with and comes with more challenging monsters to fight. At this point, I honestly can't see the base game without the DLC, it is quite honestly the perfect match up in terms of addon content. Iceborne is a little bit pricey (POV base game is cheaper), but it is still worth the $40 although I would wait for a sale-

  With almost 1000 hours as of writing and responsibilities to procrastinate I think this is a prime time to review Iceborne, especially for anyone who's looking to get the DLC after the negative reviews from the start. Short version: Iceborne will be more difficult and also very fun. I 100% recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the base game. Almost all performance issues have been fixed and patched, the game runs smoothly for me without any issues and many recent reviews seem to have stated the same. As for the anticheat and modding, I have yet to meet a cheater (considering that most my playtime is solo that is not surprising I suppose) and I have never modded the game, so I can't comment much there. The difficulty: Yes, Iceborne is hard. Not Dark Souls difficult, but you might get stuck on a few monsters in the early stages, since the transition between ranks is sort of painful and you'll also run into issues with some of the very endgame bosses since those are tailor made to kick your ass. You will be tested for your skill and you'll need some advanced skills to get through some of the tougher monsters. The clutch claw: With some new mechanics and decorations being added it really doesn't feel bad? Although I never actually understood all the hate surrounding it. Softening is a great way to get more damage out of your weapons but in casual hunts it won't really matter all that much if you spend an extra 3 minutes beating up whatever it is you are beating up. I personally never really had any beef with it anyways. The Grinding Lands: The grind isn't that bad, unless you really really want to min-max. The layered armour and weapons it provides is a huge plus for me, since I care about fashion. The leveling mechanics can be a pain in the ass and if you don't want to go into a lobby where some guy will land you his place for that tempered Namielle than you'll have to grind it out to level 7. And now something bad: Guardian armour. Gosh I just hate it... If a new player skips the tutorial on it and just sees big numbers for a low price they'll breeze through the base game only to realise that monsters have the means to fight back later on. I'm not sure how many people thought the game was "too easy" or got slapped in the face by Iceborne and said it's "too hard" but if I could, I would remove that armour for first time playthroughs. Oh yea one more thing: Activity is still very nice. I can still find full lobbies of people grinding Siege monsters and even some of the tougher challenges, so multiplayer is still active until this day.

  i dont get all the negative reviews... iceborne is a must-have. its fuckin GOOD bro. thats all i can say. im almost to 2k hours, and im still loving it.
