About the Game

This is the future - a world ruled by mechs.

Cars are long forgotten. The only thing that matters today are mechs - giant, powerful robots. And you? Well, you make loads of money on them. After all, you are a mech mechanic!

As a mech mechanic you will have to compete with the largest corporations of the modern world. Deconstruct, repair and improve giant machines. Create your own company and lead it to glory. Accept the challenge of creating your own state of the art mech - the most developed robot in the world.

Your job is to examine parts and find those that need to be replaced. Detach broken elements and order new ones... But remember, even the most damaged items can be reused. Renew, refresh and restore them, so they can be used again. Fix whatever you can. And the rest? Sell or melt it and craft into something entirely new!

Job offers can ask you to repaint some mechs, while others have to be updated and prepared for their new jobs. There are plenty of kinds of mechs in Mech Mechanic Simulator. And they all have different purposes. Increase your prestige and gain access to more complicated and state of the art machines.

Reputation of your warehouse constantly grows and corporations are less and less happy to see how well you manage to develop your business. It's about time to roll up your sleeves and compete with the biggest. Let's see who is able to create the most advanced mech of the future!

Expenses need to be covered. Your workshop could use some improvements and resources aren't cheap. Mech parts break all the time and your clients’ expectations are ever rising. Try to keep up if you don't want to get beaten up by your competition.

Gameplay is ok but nothing special, gets monotonous very quickly. I love the mechanic sim games (have hundreds of hours in them) but this is just cashing in on the genre without bringing anything new to the table in gameplay. Also the game has been abandoned by devs with no updates since April and it only had limited attention before that. Personally I feel this isn't worth it, there are better mechanic sims out there for a comparable price.

Abandon game. Do not buy. A Great concept with heaps of potential that has been abandoned after the developers cash grab goals was achieved.

So have you ever wondered what it would be like to create or repair mechs? Well that's what this game says it will do. But the question is does the title match what the game does? (If you want my short review check the bottom) Firstly I will point out that this is a simulator which is a bit strange since most simulator games will be based on jobs or professions that exist right now. And while it's true that robotics is something that does exist, it's certainly isn't on the level that this game shows. However that said, rather than basing this game on the present, the focus is on the future. In this future, three major companies have control on making new models of mechs. This mechs are used to for mining, scavenging, as well as for combat. But of course because of the value of these mechs there is a black market where criminals will steal parts, mechs, as well as use those mechs in order to get there criminal work done. To me this scenario makes the game go down a route which opens a lot of options. You see when you start the game your focus is on repairing mechs for these companies, as well as for the criminals if you wish. When you do a good job you will get a good repetition with the companies or if you are helping the criminals, they will give you access to 'acquired' parts that can be used for repairing mechs. Later on you will have the ability to get your own mechs which can be used on missions, which in turn helps you to get more money, repetition and parts. But lets talk about the mechanical side of things. If you have played Car Simulator you will have a good idea on how fixing and repair will work in this game. However I will add that there are some differences. Firstly before you can start doing any repairs you will have to clean the mech (if it is needed), as well as scan of the mech. When you do a scan it will tell you which part/s need to be fixed. Now this is where it gets interesting. You know how in Car Simulator you can remove the engine from the car after you remove a few parts attached to the engine? And then move that part away from the car, so you can get full access to every part of the engine? Well that's what you will be doing a lot in this game. For example if there is a problem with the mech's right arm, you will have to remove the right arm to a station. From there you can find the problem in the arm and fix it. To me this is a great way to get the player to fix the problem without the headache of trying to find what the problem is. However this does make that game a bit easier when compared to Car Simulator, so that could be considered a good or bad feature depending on your preference. That said unlike like Car Simulator where you can try to repair a part by clicking on the repair button, in Mech Mechanic Simulator you are given a mini game to fix the problem. I do feel that this makes the repairing side of things better because it's more based on the player's input rather than relying on a RNG roll. This also means you will be spending time on both repairing parts, as well as removing/replacing them. The game also gives players the ability to buy their own mechs which can be used in missions. This makes having mechs more useful as a way to make money rather than just buying them, fixing them and selling them off for a slight profit. That said, if you do plan on doing this be prepared to do a lot of repairs because your mechs will be taking a bit of damage each time you send them out. Still it's better than just storing in a garage to gather dust. Now while I do like this game there are some problems which I do see with the game. Firstly when it comes to painting your mechs, you cannot choose what colours what you want. You have to have to choose a group of colours and from there choose the colours in that group you want to use. While this is meant so it's easier to choose the right colours when a company asks for them to repaint a mech, it does limited how you can design them. Speaking of designing, painting a part is tricky. Sure you can do a full colour on a mech as a whole, but you cannot full paint on a certain part (or group of parts) of the mech. Instead you have to spray what you want to be covered, which makes it very difficult if you have two or three parts right next to each other. Also trying to do calibration is annoying. The problem I see with this is that it doesn't really explain it well. After a few attempts I figured out what I just did, however I do feel that it could be explained a bit more clearly. Then there are minor things like repairing mechs can be repetitive, which sure could be said about any game which allows you to repair vehicles or machines, but it's worth noting for those who are not used to playing these types of games. The android that's with you can be kinda annoying after a while. I also found a bug where if you don't have the wiring room and you enter the empty room, you can fall out of your site and fall into the city and beyond, so that needs to be fixed as a heads up. Overall, I'm enjoying the game. I did manage to get a 30% off which to me was a nice price for me to get this game at. Do I recommand it? Sure it does what says it does. That said it has some flaws here and there, but nothing that has ruined my experience. So I guess I would say that if you have like what you have seen of the game or you want to try a game that like Car Simulator but with mechs, then I think you will enjoy this game. Short review: Game is like Car Simulator with mechs. I have enjoyed the game, has features which make the game enjoyable. That said this game does have some flaws, but overall a good experience if you like this genre of games.

Got it 70% off (6 USD). It is a fun little distraction, but I wouldn't spend MSRP, the game has good concept but seems like development stopped so it is basically a really fun mini game

I enjoy games where I grow into a role. Car Mechanic, House Flipper, Euro Truck Simulator... they're all about getting to know a line of work, improving and expanding. For example, I got really good at Car Mechanic Sim, and actually learned a lot on the way. Buying a rust bucket and fixing it up into a high-end racecar end-product? That's satisfying. Here's an in-depth review of why I wouldn't recommend buying Mech Mechanic. I might update this later on if anything else is added. When I got into Mech Mechanic, I wanted something similar to those games I listed earlier. It starts out with you doing some basic mechanic gigs and slowly unlocking more repair stations for various parts. Welding, de-rusting, an electronics puzzle minigame (with three minor variations). Later in the game you also unlock a crafting station, but I've honestly never had any use for it. When you're supposed to remember 3-4 parts with names like Centurion-CH AH/2/3/7 or similar and type it all into your manual search, there's just no way. I'm not gonna take notes, especially when it all saves me is pennies on the dollar. [EDIT: This seems slightly harder to achieve in later patches] See, the game economy breaks easily. There's a stock system where you can invest in your favorite company. That means that whenever you do a repair job for them, you get a stock bonus. This bonus quickly adds up to way beyond whatever savings you can do by playing minigames. In no-time, you save more money by just finishing jobs with minimum effort than you do by spending 10+ minutes fixing every part and calibrating. Why spend 10 minutes saving 15 000 when you can finish the job and get 100 000 in 3 minutes? Then there is calibration. Every mech has a minigame where you actually get to use your mech. How cool is that? Not very, unfortunately. Most of the calibration amounts to either a jump puzzle or a timed maze. The levels repeat (a lot), and it rarely amounts to any bonus over 3-5k. It just isn't worth it, time-wise. I got really good with the Sakura mech jump puzzle, and it'd take me about 1 to 1 ½ minutes, but when you can get through an entire job order in 3-5 minutes that just isn't worth it. There is no incentive to calibrate, especially when the levels are repetitive and the controls quite frustrating at times. The "Hack, Launch, Fight"-video on the store page is intentionally misleading. What they're showing is calibration missions, and you'll stop doing those quickly once you realize they're repetitive and add no value. The hacking minigame is just a small logic puzzle. The fighting, mining, jumping, etc... that's just a minigame. You'll stop doing them once you realize how little they add. They're more trouble than they're worth. There is a paint station as well. It is pretty basic with only two tools (fill all or manual brush). Would be nice to have more features like fill a specific part or masking. There are a few stamps you can apply, but not that many. A suggestion for the developer would be an in-game shop where you can order more stamps, patterns or colors for your paint shop. Painting is also done by pre-set color schemes, so you can't go painting your mechs bright pink with little ribbons. I know, I'm disappointed too. Don't expect to make a D.Va's Tokki mech cosplay anytime soon. The color station seems like an afterthought or a developer checkbox. It is rarely relevant, but when it is it gets frustrating quickly. Imagine you're on a 3 minute timed mission, and they say they want the mech painted with CP-04 with colors W005, W003, Y002 and R006. You have to memorize that. Get one thing wrong and you get a prompt telling you something is wrong. You have to exit out of the interface, check again, and then go back in and try to set it again. It is just frustrating. How can we be so far into the future and not have work orders integrated into our shop computers? Also, when you do get into the paint station with the right colors, it doesn't matter what you do. Just go crazy, there are no demands apart from you remembering what color scheme they want. I usually just make polka dots. You can buy "rust bucket" mechs and fix them up. This is what I was most looking forward to. Sadly, it is not as fun as in most other sims. Your mech might be missing a cable or a screw in each of it's major limbs, but that's it. It is just like any other repair job. You can paint it, sure. You can calibrate it (for what reason, I have no idea). Then you have it, a mech. You send it off to your garage with the same animation as when you finish a repair job. Then that mech becomes a static inventory item that you can "send off" to missions. Missions are just a timer. You send your mech off, and depending on what passive abilities you've installed (up to four) you get a varying chance of it coming back damaged. Even if you do everything right, it can come back damaged. Have fun spending 10 minutes breaking apart it's right arm to fix a joint only to send it back again. There is a lot of potential here, but it feels like an incomplete game. I love the mech designs and the fantasy they're building up, but it is just not a well-designed experience. It is shallow. I mean come on, we can't even visit our own garage and SEE our custom mechs! There is no photo mode! We have to manually call them in, one at a time! You can't exchange the parts of your mech in any way, it WILL have those arms and legs. The parts are only a measure of damage, nothing else. You can't install the "turbo" version of anything, or the "battle" variant. No, a knee joint is just a knee joint. There are no other knee joints. At 13 hours (as of writing this), I'm done. I took a lot of time doing nothing and wasting time with minigames trying to get into the spirit of the game, but you can easily finish this up in an afternoon. There is no endgame, so just... enjoy what little is there. If you're really into mechs you'll enjoy the detailed models, but please be aware that the game is a lot more shallow than it seems. I hope the devs expand on it. Not through paid expansions or DLCs, but with actual updates that makes the game live up to what was promised. The entire "Personalize" part of the store page is misleading. There are four passive bonuses for you to install and an optional paintjob, that's it. Same with the "Grow your business"-part. Compete with the biggest? There is literally no competition, at any point. And when you're raking in 1.7 million per job, parts ARE cheap. Give us a the option to drive our mechs. Sit in the cabin (maybe personalize it). Hire a crew to help us out in the workshop. Customize our mechs with optional parts. Have a rival mechanic mock you when something goes wrong. Please just do more. Thank you for your time, I hope it helps you make an informed decision. EDIT: Other issues to look out for; - Fixing up trash mechs actually cause them to lose value (!!!) from their original trash value. Imagine that. You can buy the most expensive mech in the game, fix it up, and it loses 300k in value in total. This goes for all types of mechs.

Really enjoy this game. Really the only pure mech building and repair game on the market...to my knowledge. Would love a test run feature, but it's early and the possibilities are truly endless on this one! Well worth the wait time in a world of TBA and coming soon games. (Thank you for being true to your word devs!)

It has some nice mechanics and as a huge Battletech fan, it realls scratched that itch but sadly the content is shallow and the game has been abandoned by the devs. Some claim it has been a money grab to get some cash for their next project but honestly I think it was just too niche to be profitable. Sadly those devs lack experience in building a fanbase and will probably just vanish in due time. As for now, just avoid this and get something else like Car Mechanic Simulator or Hardspace Shipbreaker.

First, I love the HELL out of the idea and it has a ton of potential, but enough things felt under-cooked that "Do not recommend" is still where I landed. There was some enjoyment to be had here, though it's a pretty shallow and repetitive experience that boils down to a series of mini-games, some FAR less fun than others. That type of thing has its place (like giving my brain a rest from studying) but when I need that I can get the same thing from mobile games. If it looks interesting, definitely give the Prologue version a shot. I don't have any experience with the other mechanic simulator games and have no idea how it compares.

So close and yet so far.... This game was onto something - it could've been great, but it always seems to fall just short of achieving its potential. Here's what I mean: You can customise your workshop - awesome! Oh, wait, there are only very limited options and some elements of the colour scheme will always stay the same and clash with certain other picks. You can pilot the mechs you repair - awesome! Oh wait, the controls feel clunky and the tests are really basic. You can paint the mechs by hand - awesome! Oh wait, the colours are restricted by a weird palette system. Loads of different gameplay systems that boost immersion - awesome! Oh wait, most of them are very shallow and you can actually get by just fine totally ignoring them. So on, so forth. I almost want to recommend it anyway, given the relatively low price...Alas, I can't quite forgive the flaws, however cool the concept is.
