  Despite their being achievements for stealth and assassinations these mechanics are so badly done that it can be nearly impossible to avoid/kill some guards. The lack of an easy way to retry these rooms just adds to the frustration of playing this game. There are also several times where you have to endure long, unskippable cutscenes that have a challenge after them and you'll automatically get a bad end if you fail this challenge. However there's no way to save after the cutscene so if you fail you have to watch the whole thing again. Another frustrating thing about this game that removes all the fun from it.

  Disclaimer: I have beaten the game twice. Once without the patch and once with the patch. With the patch installed, this game contains ryona/brutality and lots of other content. Without the patch, the game is short, and uninspired with nothing worth noting. Gameplay has several mini-games amongst the combat with guards and half-oni. All of the mini-games are as unique as mini-games can get for something made in RPG Maker.

  As a big naruto fan I was very interested in this game, kunoichi botan tells an exciting and immersive story about loyalty and honor. The gameplay is very strategic and you can solve situations in many ways, you don't have to rely exclusively on fighting, there are also diplomatic or stealthy ways. I was particularly taken with the different endings and interesting storylines after each game over, which results in a really high replay value. In summary, I can really recommend the game!

  You need to install the patch since it adds the h to h-game. https://www.kaguragames.com/product/kunoichi-botan-steam-patch/ The controls are: X = Menu/slow text, Z = Enter/fast text, directional arrows = Move, Shift = Dash, Ctrl = Speeds up dialogue, F1 = options, F2 = fps count, F5 = doubles the screen size (originally 646x509) but the image isn't as sharp, F12 = returns you to the start menu. The game's about 3-4 hours long. It's uncensored, there are a good number of scenes, and you have a certain control of the direction of where those scenes goes; which makes this game worth the purchase. Make sure to save frequently. You might want to try something different - like fighting the swordmaster instead of submitting to him. Or you might deliberately let Botan get ejaculated in, which will result in a loss. If you lose, and you've already seen a scene and don't want to watch it again (because they're usually very long); hit F12 and it'll take you back to the title screen. If you're having a tough time with fights, select gifted instead in the options - and you can use her ninjutsu to spawn shadow clones outside of combat for battle preparation. When you finish the game, there is a gallerymode. It's done a bit weird, it'll use up one of your other saves. There's 3 different levels - you do everything from view events to fight every enemy in the game. I like this game.

  [h1][b]A WORTHY PURCHASE FOR THE 'CULTURED'[/b][/h1] Let me begin by saying that I purchased the original version long ago. With that out of the way, let me begin. Kunoichi Botan is an H RPG with no clones(to my knowledge). The main catch to this game is how different it is to the standard cut-and-paste H RPG. The majority of the game has the player attempting to stealth by guards and either assassinating or engaging them in combat. Certain portions of the game includes 'minigames', or quick time events that may lead to game over with a scene to go with it. Kunoichi Botan is a purchase most H RPG players will appreciate, both in scenes and in overall design. [h1][b]The Story[/b][/h1] I doubt anyone really cares about the story, but the basic rundown of the story is told at the very beginning of the game. To summarize, Kunoichi Botan is a story about a Kunoichi named Botan(surprising, I know) who is assigned the task of killing "The Merchant", a bad guy who is rumored to be able to enslave women and is creating half-oni. Botan was assigned this task, because her master, "Kaede", was thought to be captured. In this mission, a younger kunoichi named "Yasuzu" is also ordered to participate, but instead of assassination, her job is just to gain information and return. During the game, the story turns in predictable ways, because as we all know, nothing ever goes as planned. To find out the rest, just purchase the game and play-- Kunoichi Botan is a relatively short game that can be completed within 2-5 hours, depending on the player. [h1][b]The Visuals[/b][/h1] Spectacular, though the game uses common assets from RPG Maker, the way the game is setup is vastly different from its kind, and the art both standing and during scenes is nothing short of amazing. This definitely includes the animations as well. Unlike most H RPGs which changes 1 CG with another CG to show scene progression, Kunoichi Botan differentiates itself by providing the players with animations on par with 30 fps GIF images, which is impressive, especially compared to other H RPGs. [h1][b]Sound/Music[/b][/h1] Nothing to write home about, most of the game uses stock RPG Maker assets, and other Royalty-free sounds. For those wondering, there are no voices, which may be disappointing to some. [h1][b]Controls[/b][/h1] Pretty basic, nothing outlandish or different here. Quick time Events mostly just involve pressing Z key rapidly, or holding down the Z key and letting go, or using the arrow keys to move. [h1][b]The H Content[/b][/h1] Let's be real, most people looking into getting this are going to install the R-18 Patch included for free at Kagura Games' website. Anyway, the H content in Kunoichi Botan can range from tame/basic to extreme(for most). Most if not all the poses are pretty tame if you've been around "the hub" or "the haven", if you know what I mean, and to make up for the basic stuff, the art is the main selling point of this game. If the player doesn't like the art, the player might not like the scenes, either. It's a mixed bag, really. [h1][b]The Verdict[/b][/h1] Maybe i'm a little biased, but I would whole-heartedly recommend this game to any "cultured" man or woman looking to increase the size of their... "collection". I'd say purchase this game whether it's on sale or not, as it is worth your time due to the quality of the art alone. The gameplay is good, for what it is, and you won't find much others quite like Kunoichi Botan in the H-RPG realm.

  A game that is rather unwholesome, pretty easy to play if you know how to use a keyboard, it also requires a patch. Otherwise, it is an alright game.

  Don't pay more than $5 for this trash. This game doesn't even have an options menu. I don't understand how it gets any positive reviews at all. The stealth/combat systems are basic to say the least. The H scenes consist of static images with A TON of pointless text to scroll through. If there were any good bits, I must've accidentally scrolled past because I was spamming through the boring bits. The animated scenes have like 3 frames. I'm unhappy with my purchase.

  This game is okay but the long and difficult minigames will very quickly make you dislike the game. It gets worse with long unskippable cutscenes also make you want to stop playing when it is continuously combines with the damn minigames.
