  I had a blast. Twists and turns galore. Really put me in the shoes of an internet celebrity. It felt REAL! Noel was my favorite character. My second favorite character was Nick. My son loves this game. My friend fear farted during the playthrough (he was watching). How are you guys doing after all this? Must be tough. Love you Arin

  [list] [*]It's always nice to see projects like this where the developer properly utilises the Unreal engine. You do not get the feeling of playing yet another asset flip. Instead, you are presented with a story and a theme that may already help with story immersion. [*]The underlying theme here is Christmas. One of the best ideas for the horror genre. Although it was already spring when I completed Irony Of Nightmare I was still happy to play it regardless of not seeing any snow flakes outside. [*]As soon as you check the Christmas tree inside in one of the rooms all lights go out. The initially positive (call it festive) atmosphere quickly turns to nightmare. Gameplay consists of puzzle solving and along the way you are presented with jumpscares and you also get the opportunity to see some gory stuff. You get to explore a house with its rooms - no more, no less. [*]The game is pretty short and you do not exactly find out who your uninvited guest is. Although Irony Of Nightmare is still in early access it's a shame that no updates have been provided since mid-January. The guys at Steppe Hare have since moved on to another project titled Mother Simulator. [*]I do not know if this will ever be finished, however, I recommend that you pick it up (it is very cheap and easy to obtain all achievements) if you enjoy a chilling, X-mas atmosphere. I was satisfied with the presentation and would love to see the story to its full extent. [/list]

  I got this game because of the high percentage of positive reviews, but I should have known better, it's just another soulless cheap cash grab, which misuses the Early Access flag . You walk through the house, grab some keys and solve an easy "puzzle" to get out. It's super short, there's no story, bugs, lvl design is abysmally poor and I could have sworn, I saw loads of the used assets in other UE4 games. If you don't get this game included in a bundle or just buy it because you want to have all games on steam - stay away. You'll find games with more depth and (horror)fun on gamejolt or itch.io for free.

  Holiday bit sized horror game. It has some suspenseful moments with a dash of fear. It has some puzzle solving and a few uniquer mechanics utilizing the PC in the starting room. I played around and got all the achievements in about an hour. This game, currently priced at 1 USD or less on sale, is completely worth it. The snack sized horror niche is a favorite for those of us who have busy lives and not a lot of time to delve into a complicated time consuming game. This hits that target and I enjoyed it. Thanks for the bite sized horror games SHS, I appreciate it.

  Cool. I did not expect this game to be surprisingly good... Yes, the game is low budget and the price is only 99 cents. Worth the 99 cents? Absolutely. Even though it is super short and only delivers roughly 30 minutes worth of gameplay, but the atmosphere is fantastic and something horror fans would love to check out. It builds tension very very well and uses a variety of things such as flickering lights, brief mysterious messages, creepy noises, and small bizarre events. It also forces you to be cautious of the mysterious killer lurking around the house wanting to get your head. That helped to create the jumpscares to be quite scary and unexpected. People have known jumpscares to be annoying and pointless in other games but is not the case for this game. The jumpscares were actually done well even with the obvious flaws of being a low budget title. To simply summarize the graphics, it is very similar to "Emily Wants to Play" and "Boogeyman" which both are under the use of Unreal Engine 4. I love the holiday theme used in the game and it brought me some memories of watching holiday horror films like Black Christmas, Silent Night Deadly Night and an unexpected Science Fiction film which I cannot explain further without spoiling the game. Overall, a very enjoyable cheap game worth to experience for horror enthusiasts. 99 cents do not hurt. 6.8 out of 10

  While I was so excited to play this, love the indie aspect and really want to support the developers, I simply can't for one reason: No matter what I did, I kept getting killed! I see the other reviews about how it's a great puzzle, but it's also set up to EXPLORE! Another thing is, without a map, many of the doors look the same and it's awkward opening them, so you can easily get disoriented and end up going in circles. Early in the game there was a very clever puzzle which added a major feature to the game without spoiling it, I thought that was amazingly inventive! So kudos to the developers for that, even including a self effacing in game joke! But overall why give players One Hit Kills in what's essentially an environment begging to be explored? At least let us run away or use an item or punch & kick to defend ourselves. What's this Dragon's Lair??

  Steppe Hare Studio showed us promise with this first outing, and it definitely feels like a jumping pad for what they'd inevitably conjure up in the future. Albeit short, I feel like it follows the rule of a "Snack Sale" This lil experience goes for the same price as a gas station snack, but lasts considerably longer and has more substance. There are some fun puzzles that will make you wrack your brain, an interactive webchat with a working text bar, and some solid sound design and ambience. The story is non-existent, (or up to player interpretation if you wanna be like that), there are assets you've probably seen before, and the jumpscares aren't very good, but you can't expect much for a $1 game. I say buy it! It'll run you a solid 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on how new you are to these sorts of games, and how long the puzzles take you. Always support indie developers who show promise. Who knows, maybe you'll find it scary too! 7.5/10 Not too bad at all
