In this world all shattered, a group of people gathered together, wanting to disperse the darkness, and bringing lights upon this world. They created a transmigrate trial, so the chosen ones could find the key to save the world in their transmigrating trials.

Devil Slayer - Raksasi uses Roguelike mechanics, you will face different enemies in our random generated levels. Countless relics combinations will give each runs a fresh and interesting experience. Challenging & down to the core action game

Rid of the grinding gameplays, you will face down to the core battles in Devil Slayer - Raksasi, in which the most essentials are your dodging, timing, and rhythm skills. You need to practice with your weapons, familiar with your enemies, choose the right moment to unleash your strikes. Kill or be killed is often one blink away.

You remember when you were younger, and you put all the soda from the soda machines together at Pizza Hut to make what, by all accounts should be delicious omnisoda, but instead it was kinda gross? Devil Slayer Raksasi is the jungle juice of games, you've got Binding of Isaac room traversal with Monster Hunter weapon movesets, Slay the Spire map progression and Dark Souls dodging on top of Dead Cells item unlock method. This only difference is that unlike the jungle juice, Devil Slayer is good.

Really fun roguelite, ESPECIALLY for the low price The beginning is tough, but that is to be expected from this genre. Once you get the hang of the controls it feels very rewarding and once you get a few upgrades for the character and the levels it starts getting better and better. A big plus are the devs imo. They did a very good job at balancing and adding new things during EA so i'm looking forward to what else they cook up. They did announce further content.

Believe it or not Devil Slayer isn't just a waifu gallery with half assed combat mechanics sprinkled in to justify calling it a "game". It actually has good gameplay. TLDR: Binding of Isaac style randomized rooms + Souls-ish combat. Dodge, parry, sprint, dash (with invincibility frames), manage stamina and finite amounts of hp and mana, unlockable characters, different fighting styles, itemization, passive bonuses, gradual permanent meta-progression, bosses, the kind of stuff you'd expect in a game like this. Controls are smooth and work well with mouse + keyboard, keys are rebindable. The full on top down perspective is uncommon but blends well with the gameplay in a practical way (easy to judge distance and relative position). Derpy lewdness aside the art style is nice, vibrant but not obnoxiously cartoony or caricatured. Music is pretty repetative and merely ok, I barely notice it. The English translation is imperfect but still very good for a non-western game, not that the story matters much. Overall very good game for how cheap it is.

There's a lot to this game does right, or rather there's a lot it 'almost' does right. For a rogue-like there's a good amount of variety, in both enemy types, bosses, and items. There's definitely enough content to justify the price tag. The combat is similar to souls-like game except from a top down view. You attack, your enemies can attack, you can dodge or dash and that's limited by a stamina bar (the stamina bar is not drained by attacks) it's pretty straightforward. Unfortunately there are two major problems that make me unable to recommend this. 1. Enemy (mostly boss) design is not 'tight' enough. This is the most important factor for this style of game where incoming damage can be very large and it's expected to be the player's fault. There are a couple different examples of this: -'Elite enemies' that can spawn in place of regular enemies are enhanced with bonus stats and permanent Super-Armor (meaning they will not flinch from your attacks). Some very fast and aggressive enemies are not designed around this and become incredibly annoying when you no longer have proper windows to attack them safely. -Some Bosses are very inconsistent about providing windows to safely attack them. For example, right after an attack, 'Boss A' will normally let you safely get an attack combo off, but they also have a chance of immediately starting an attack with Super-Armor properties (making it unsafe to go for more than 1 hit). Since this kind of stuff isn't react-able, the fight can play out in a tedious fashion where you wait for specific attacks, poke the boss once or twice, and repeat. There's no room to approach the fight differently or be more aggressive after you've understood the boss, you'll always be risking unavoidable counterattacks if you do. -Some hitboxes are a bit sketchy. For example there's a boss with a spear who is normally safe to stand right next to when he's doing a wide swing (since only the blade does damage not the handle), but sometimes you'll just get hit anyways because the safe spot is small enough that minor variations in angle can ruin it. -Bosses are not designed around all the weapon types (quite evident with some of the slower ones). If there's a boss that's a 'bad-matchup' for whatever weapons you have you're expected to just take a different route on the map so you never have to deal with it. 2. Absolutely horrible power-based meta-progression. Each individual character has their own talent unlocks, progress is not shared between them. Since most of their defining characteristics are behind these talents, deciding to switch characters is basically a major handicap until you get most of their talents unlocked. This takes longer than I'd like, but it's only the icing on the cake. After you unlocked all character talents, you unlock a Soul-Idol system: you unlock up to 5 slots you can place "Charms" that improve various attributes. There are 5 different tiers of Charms (ranging from Wood to Jade), and they drop randomly from either a full Clear or by spending large amounts of gold at a shop in the final area. You can craft two of the same tier together to get a new one of a higher tier. These offer gigantic power bonuses, a single Jade charm can provide a +60% attack bonus (and that only takes 1 slot out of 5). Without enabling large amounts of challenge modifiers and having unlocked all other items, you can expect at best 5 wood-tier charms from a successful run (of which you need at least 16 for a max-tier charm, though the upgrade process can randomly fail). A full run can take upwards of an hour and if you die before the final stage, you get absolutely nothing. Even for someone that can win consistently, it's going to be 100+ hours to unlock most of these. I have no idea why such a big power spike is locked behind being able to beat the game enough times that you won't even need it anymore, assuming you aren't just done with the game entirely by then. It's just inane. It's a shame because the game is a relatively unique experience, I just cannot recommend it in this state.

So far i love the game, it's a ton of fun and reminds me of Slay the Spire, except this is an action game. The rogue element and randomness is so fun! so far i didn't manage to beat boss 2 yet (3 hours into game), but i still grow stronger and will do it one day :) (i just did it now and it felt goooood! :3 (at the end of a chapter you have to spend your soul points you have collected, those makes you little stronger permanently for that character you play, even after a death) At first the controls was confusing to me but after some play time, i have gotten used to them and likes them now. (i play with mouse and keyboard) Also the characters are really amazing styled. Overall i really love the game and the concept and i think i will put alot of hours into it, i just want to play more of it already.

I wanted to like this game. I really did. But I cannot, in good conscience, recommend it. TL;DR: It looks great, feels stiff to play and has mechanics that hate you just as much as you hate them. On the surface, it looks pretty swell! It's got a plethora of items, the dead cells system to unlock more, a bunch of weapons to pick from, a unique art style; it has it all! And when you get down to it, the items and the weapons? Not much of a problem with those. The problem I have is with everything else around it. The game is honestly fairly janky in gameplay. The animations are puppeteering 2d images, and, in itself, I wouldn't have a problem with this, but it plays so stiffly. The weapons have a light attack, a light hold, a "heavy" attack and a "heavy" charge. This sounds fine on paper, but there's no like... momentum to attacks. Everything moves so clumsily, like it's constrained in this very specific format (because it is). But again, I could deal with this, it wasn't the deal breaker. The deal breaker was the gameplay. Now, I had no issue with the progression at first, even if the difficulty curve gets a little steep in the end. In essence, I can say this is a skill issue on my part and I should just get good. However. Once you beat the game for the first time, they introduce this wonderful concept called "dangerous". Dangerous levels make enemies faster and stronger. Which would be a neat mechanic if it didn't turn everything into a hellish sponge . Dangerous levels on their own? Manageable, if not extremely hard. But dangerous bosses? It's honestly unfair. They are so tanky. It's not even funny. Did I miss a mechanic? Are those bosses supposed to be so nigh impossible that I get funnelled into a path avoiding them like the plague? And then you get curses. As a mechanic, I don't have a problem with these. Binding of Isaac does it, and it turns out fine. But. This game is heavily based around stamina. And when you have this awful curse of "seniority" that hacks your stamina regen in half, on a level where you can't avoid it (read as: the final level), you get a recipe for a fight which isn't going to be even a little bit fun. Now, I'm not amazing at video games. I can handle myself, I've finished dark souls, I have 200 hours in dead cells, I can do okay. But when the game gives you 5 revives per run by default and all of them get consumed on the last boss? Doesn't that feel... wrong? On normal difficulty? The rest of the run felt hard but fair, why am I getting trounced here? Point is, this game was doing great at keeping me, until its own mechanics did everything they could to alienate me. So, yes, I would've loved to be able to recommend this one. But honestly, it made me so mad at how unfair it was, that I can't. If you made it this far, I'm sorry I made you read my essay. But this game just left me... disappointed. And if I can avoid that happening to other people, this is for that.

This game is the definition of "bang for your buck". The amount of depth is unhealthy, and the translation is solid. It manages to reward both slow and methodical as well as quick and technical gameplay, and there's enough variety in the heroines and, eventually through progression, enough customization to fit most people's preferences. Chinese Roguelikes are something I never expected to love so much. This is not my first, but it's definitely my favorite. Update: The new content from the update is great, with challenging new mechanics, bosses, and enemies. If you're on the fence about buying this game but are a fan of roguelikes, then I will guarantee that you'll find something in here that's worth your money. There is a specific character available for any play style, and a new one that adapts to the weapon you're using. I cannot recommend this game enough.

Wow . A blend of souls like combat from a top down view mixed with some rogue elements a la binding of isaac . This game is absolutely awesome for an early access. Every warrior has thier own initinal weapon fighting style that changes how you approach enemies and also they each have a unique magic skill to help them along the way. You can find a blacksmith in the dungeon that can allow you to switch to new upgraded weapons(for a price) if you find him. You can find random items to boost your character during your run a la binding of isaac altought they are a bit more rare here. You have some permanent upgrades for each class that you can invest souls in so you have some sense of progression in between runs. Good atmosphere. Music is nice but i kinda felt like...Hmmm maybe slightly repetitive in style maybe? Graphics are suprisingly nice for a top down game. The combat feels really tight with mouse and keyboard, have not tryed controllers yet. Sincerly this was the most fun i had in a 2 hours gaming session lately. Highly recommend if you like souls games and roguelike games. This seems like a perfect blend. Update 10h in: Game just seems to get better as you play it. With the new items/classes/ and passive skills that you unlock as you play, it just gets better and better. Every class is so damn op in thier own way. Escpecially once you start unlocking some of thier passives . Just like Binding of isaac you sometime get that godly run where you get tons of items that works well together and it feels great. Also i take it back. Items are not more rare than in binding of isaac once you use the shop properly. i'm pretty sure i'll end up putting above 100h in this game . And it's only 10$ what a deal.

This is my first ever steam review, because I feel like this game really deserves it. TL;DR: In my opinion, this game, even in it's current state stands miles above most modern roguelikes, especially in it's price range. It has a lot of variety and depth to combat, a plethora of unlockable content, and attractive art, which all complement each other and result in a fun, challenging game that you can sink tons of hours into before mastering. As a long time fan of the genre, I can highly recommend it. First of all: the game is absolutely worth the asking price of $10, it is far better both in terms of quality and amount of content than many $20-30 games out there. It has everything you could want from a roguelike dungeon crawler: different characters with different stats and skills, procedurally generated areas, a vast amount of content to unlock and explore, extra optional challenges, etc. With a game like this, the most important aspect in my opinion is the core gameplay, if that is flawed, the rest of the game will have a very hard time absolving it. This game in particular shines in that department. Once you unlock them you will have a decent variety of characters with slightly different stats, but more importantly a different active skill and starting weapon to choose from. While some of them are similar they still feel distinct enough to warrant trying them all out. What makes every run unique and interesting is the items you pick up along the way, and the areas and bosses you decide to pick after beating the previous one. Since you can semi-freely switch weapons every other level, you can complement the random items you are given with whichever weapon you feel is the most adequate, which allows for different fighting styles. There is a decent amount of depth here, and figuring out what works the best for every new boss you face is always fun. The top-down view works really well, the enemy attacks are telegraphed enough to make it fair, but still difficult and punishing if you make mistakes. Another core aspect is the randomly generated areas, enemies, and items at your disposal. I haven't unlocked nearly everything by the time I'm writing this review, and there are already a huge variety of items. While some of them are straight up stat changes, there are some really interesting ones out there too, and the sheer number of them really helps make every run feel unique. On top of unlocking items and characters, you also get to unlock new room types, bosses and areas by meeting certain conditions, allowing for even more replayability. The system incentivizes taking on more and more challenging content, which keeps the game from feeling too easy after the initial learning phase (the game also includes a hard mode and certain extra challenges for players who want even more, and even an easy mode for the other end of the spectrum). There is a ton of content to explore already for an early access game, and it's only going to increase. I think the art is also worth mentioning. It's all very pretty in my opinion, every overworld item, enemy and hazard is easy to tell apart, the animations work well, and it's just all around pleasant to look at. It's a great addition to an already great game. While we are at it, the procedural generation works well, there are quite a few different room and enemy types for every area, and they look and feel different. Being able to choose which boss to face next for the respective areas is a great design choice too, since it allows you to plan and prepare in advance. Since this is an early access title, there are still bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking for the most part. The worst I've had so far is an explosion pushing an enemy out of bounds, making a room an uncompleteable limbo, but quitting and reloading fixed it. I also feel like certain items, weapons and characters aren't balanced all that well, but that's really up to personal preference, and it's something that's almost a staple for roguelikes, so it's not like it wasn't expected. Altogether, I can highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a roguelike dungeon crawler with more depth to gameplay than just mashing buttons, and enough content to keep yourself busy for a very long time.

A roguelite in the style of Hades and Binding of Isaac, but with a more Dark Souls-ish style of combat. Still in early access, but it's quite fun and challening, with many weapons, powers, enemies and boss battles.
