From story-rich adventures to games filled with dark mysteries, there are many deserving games that I think got overshadowed by the big guns of the industry.

We have scoured through the depths of the internet to find all deserving games that got pushed under the rug but shouldn’t have. Escape Academy 

If you love escape rooms, you will be delighted to play this game. Released back in the July of 2022, Escape Academy lets you join the most prestigious academy for escapists. The game is filled to the brim with challenging escape room puzzles, each hiding its own secrets and mysteries that you have to uncover in order to solve the underlying puzzle.

The game has received a ton of overwhelmingly positive reviews from both players and critics alike. But the best part is you get to enjoy the whole thing with your friends in multiplayer co-op mode. It’s much more than just a plain escape room experience, it’s a way to learn and become the best master escapist. If you love escape rooms, you can’t really go wrong with Escape Academy.

FAR: Changing Tides

Next up on this list, we have FAR Changing Tides, one of the best atmospheric action-adventure titles I’ve ever played. It’s an experience worth living, at least for once. Far Changing Tides puts you in the shoes of Tao, a boy left stranded in a flooded world looking to piece together the remnants of his past life as he explores this unforgiving world.

The game has you sailing a make-shift vessel through the flooded city, towns, and villages. You come across a variety of different puzzles that need to be solved before you make your way out of unusual situations, underwater perils, and much more. The further you travel, the more you learn about the mysteries of this world and the secrets of your own vessel. 

Neon White

Neon White is probably one of the best Indie games to have released in 2022 but it just couldn’t get the attention it deserved. It’s a fast-paced speedrunning FPS title inspired by the popular SuperHot title. The game has you playing as White, a devil who has been hired from Hell to exterminate other demons from Heaven in hopes to get a permanent place there.

The game lets you parkour your way in this speedrunning FPS title as you jump, shoot, and grapple your way out of trouble to kill other demons on sight. Neon White features an a variety of different cards that you can pick to gain unique powers or weapons. You can combine these cards to get a massive boost and acquire shortcuts. It’s well worth every single penny you spend.

Nobody Saves the World

Now, some of you might have heard about this game and I can’t blame you either. Nobody Saves the World is probably the strangest but super fun game that deserves all the attention. You might have already guessed from the name what this game is all about. But if you haven’t Nobody Saves the World is an action RPG game with thrilling hack and slash combat where you play as… Nobody!

A shapeless creature who can morph into anything and anyone you want, from fierce dragons to crazy donkeys, the choices here are endless. You goal is the save the world from a Calamity using the powers of each of these forms. I know it all sounds lunatic but once you jump inside the game, you will know just how addictingly challenging this game can be.

Thymesia

Last but not least, we have Thymesia, one of the best action-RPG games of the year with intense soulslike combat. If you love dark fantasy games with gruesome fighting, you are definitely going to have a great time playing Thymesia. Harnessing the power of a mysterious plague, you have to hunt down monsters through the dark streets of this realm and rip them apart with your feathered arms.

I have had a great time in Thymesia and apparently, I am not the only one. In the same vein as games like Bloodborne and Dark Souls, Thymesia scratches that same urge with its challenging and equally rewarding combat. If you haven’t played it already, I would highly recommend you do so!
