Willy-Nilly Knight خصوصیات

Do you ever dream of being a real hero from a fairy-tale about dragons, sorcerers and knights? If the answer is yes, then you're in luck. Because you are in a fairy-tale right now! Moreover, you are the Knight by yourself! You are fearless, you have sharp sword and your destiny awaits you. But… There is always a catch.

First of all, you don't know what's going on. Secondly, local Gods have a plan for you. They want you to be their living weapon. To be someone who shall carry their will upon this world. Yes, it's unfair. It's absolutely, completely unfair.

So this is where your journey begins. In Willy-Nilly Knight you have to be a knight in the middle of strange and unpredictable events. If you want to find out the truth, then you should do your best in fighting and tactics. At least it's a tactical RPG.

What should you expect from Willy-Nilly Knight? It's a great story. It takes place in a wonderful world. You will meet many attractive NPCs and build friendships with them. You will master a unique tactical battle system and crafting. And it's just the tip of the iceberg. Really.

  • Exciting adventure of the true hero:

You will be a vital part of the great adventure and witness many different things. Do you want an example? What about confrontation with Gods? Or do you want to be a part of English folklore? Anyway, this journey will last more than 20 hours of gameplay so there will be plenty of events for sure.

  • It's real-time and turn-based all in one:

You could discover points of interest in this world in real time. But then it's time to fight game switches in turn-based mode. So you could keep your pace and plan your action carefully. Your action points is your only restriction there.

  • Surprises and references:

There are so many surprises and references... Could you catch 'em all?

  • Friends Will Be Friends:

In this journey you will meet many different characters. Some of them will be your enemies, but you could find friends too. Even a true love! All your companions will have unique skill-set so it's your right to choose with whom you want to be on one side.

  • Real handyman:

There are so many useful things in Willy-Nilly Knight… Armours, helms, boots, gloves, weapons, scrolls, potions. You could buy it. You could loot it. You could craft it! Take your chance to let your imagination run wild!

Is Willy-Nilly Knight a great game that is going to be remembered in the annals of gaming history? No, but, if you are a TRPG fan and pick it up for under 10 USD, it is worth a playthrough. Does it have a great story? No, the story is at best mediocre. It is interesting enough that you will not get bored and the ubiquitous pop culture references, while somewhat ham-fisted, did manage to elicit a chuckle or two. The game does not take itself seriously (the name of the game should make that obvious), and the plot is suitably light-hearted, if bare-bones. Does it have great gameplay? The gameplay is good, and really the reason I am giving this game a recommendation. You play with a party of initially 2 and eventually 4 premade characters that each have their own class. Each class has its own skill tree and equipment (although the Warrior and Knight share armor). It is a turn-based game with action points and skills with cooldowns. You also have your standard consumable potions and scrolls. The problem is that the skills are lackluster compared to the standard attack and consumables. There are some good abilities (passives, heals and CC abilities) but it's a shame that most of the damage, buff and debuff abilities aren't worth using. That said, there is a fair amount of tactical variation in combat, achieved largely through a mix of melee and ranged enemies, and a mix of magical and physical attacks/resistances. How is the difficulty? I played the game on the highest difficulty setting, Demiurge, and it was on the easy side for the genre. Positioning and use of CC to stun-lock tough opponents was necessary. However, I only had to use consumables while I had a two-person party. The battles with multiple opponents were harder than the battles against single opponents, and unfortunately the final battles were largely of the latter type. The economy is tight enough that you can't equip everyone with the best equipment, although you can equip everyone with the best weapon and keep your tank in the best armor, which is really all the game requires. By end game, with the exception of 3 pieces of gear, everyone had the best equipment.

I wanted to wait til Willy-Nilly Knight was release and I have some hours under my belt to post a review. It is a single player top down RPG made by a small indie studio who put a lot of love into the game. Combat is turn based, not unfair and done rather well, you level up different skills and stats, get armour and weapon upgrades from combat, crates or quest rewards Pretty standard fare, but it just has a certain charm to it and alot of funny humor. Graphics look good and the soundtrack is on point. At it's price point it's a steal, hidden gem, glad I found it.

This is a good attempt, but the execution is lacking. It feels unfinished. There's a partial crafting system and the game hints via tooltips or text associated with some items that you can craft things with them. You never get a blueprint, recipe, etc. using any of them. You can craft potions and scrolls, and that's about it. Arena mode - tacked on and boring. You select your team, so you can have a team of all one character, two of each, or whatever you want. The AI is so bad if you wait on the first turn you can kill 1 or 2 of the enemy team before they can barely scratch you. If you take all rangers you are guaranteed to win every single time unless you try to lose. Combat is repetitive and dull. The graphics are so-so. Sound is repetitive. The music seemed okay, but I turned it off very early into the game because I got tired of it quickly. The GUI needs work. There's no drag/drop of items to the quickbar, you have to go the inventory, click the item, send it to the hotbar, exit the inventory then drag it where you want it. If you don't aim properly when dropping the item or skill it'll disappear and you have to repeat the process. Clunky pretty much sums up the whole game including the writing. The game's written as if the writer was youth writing for a child or another youth. Sadly with a bit more work this may have been a decent game but it seems like it was rushed out before it was done. It's also glitchy. Sometimes a character's turn won't end. You'll be out of action points that you use to move, attack, use items, cast spells, or do anything else during a fight but if you keep clicking you can move anywhere you want for zero cost. Combat is very rinse-repeat. The ranger is overpowered, critting like crazy. It's too easy to stun/lock one enemy at a time because of multiple skills that stun/root the target. This makes fights dull and drawn out for no good reason. I don't like the skills. Too many skills do nothing more than slightly bump damage or effects on one or two other skills. One character has a skill that boosts health and armour and another that reduces it but bumps damage. I'm not going to waste time going over why they're poorly thought out and why you wind up using the same 2 or 3 things repeately. Also, there are not very many active skills per character and by the end of the game you will unlock nearly everything. Some skilsl are pointless. You can waste a bunch of action points guarding with the knight but it only lasts 2 rounds. You're almost always better off killing something instead of getting a 10 or 20 percent damage reduction for 2 rounds. Same goes for the mage's protection spell. Maybe if it lasted longer, or if the spell worked on the whole group it might be worth it, but damage output and stuns are all you really need. I know I said I wouldn't talk about it but I really didn't like the skills or system used. Stats. Uh.. classes get 1 free point per level to spend, but get +2 if they spend the point in a class stat, or +1 if they spend it elsewhere. It's almost useless to put points into anything but dexterity for the ranger, and anything but intelligence for the mage. For the other two characters you can benefit from a few points in strength, constitution and maybe a couple in dex - but not really worth it. To use MMORPG roles in describing the characters - the knight tanks, the dwarf is kind of a DPS/off tank, the ranger and mage are dps and dps/heals. The knight and dwarf (warrior class) share armour types, and you can only buy *ONE* of each type in the shops. As in one tier 1 helmet. One tier 2 helmet. One tier 4 armour. So, one character can use the best gear, the other gets the dregs. Yeah, you find a few things here and there that they can use so they don't always have hand-me-downs, but the other two characters get gear that only they can use. Want two archers? Nope. Only the ranger can use a bow. Want your knight to use a hammer instead of a sword? Nope, only the "warrior" can swing a hammer. Want your mage to jump into melee? Nope, she can't swing that staff, only shoot magic from it. I also really disliked the story, especially the "love story" aspect because it's so cheesy and poorly written, and the ending. I won't spoil them for you. Also, too many pop culture and gaming references. Too many cameos. It got to a point where I wanted it to stop, but it doesn't. There's far too much running back and forth over the same areas. Run speed should be increased a bit, it would make the game more bearable. So, anything good? Yeah, at first the combat is semi-fun but it drops off quickly. The graphics are passable. Load times are low. Glitches aren't game-breaking and very few and far between. Animations are so-so, but not bad. There is fast travel which helps considering how often you're going to go back to the same places. The economy seems fairly balanced, you can't just buy everything at the beginning of the game, however by the end I bought just about every great item I could. I think if I held off and didn't waste money on low level stuff I could have purchased *all* of the endgame stuff the game offers. Maybe I got my money's worth since it was on sale, and maybe you'll find it's worth it at a hefty discount but I can't really recommend the game in its current unfinished and unpolished state.

Nice! Very nice! Cons: - Found a couple of mistakes in translations. - Missed unusual screens resolutions support. But on the second monitor (16:9 1920x1080) it runs in full resolution. - Unable to move camera by WSAD or Arrow buttons. - Camera moving not smoothly... Profs: + Interesting story. Can't wait for tonight to continue the game. + Easter eggs! Very funny, already found two. ;) + Midcore tactical combat system, easy to learn and joy to play. + Simple, but very charm graphic! + Arthur and Excalibur. Just saw the Legend of the sword yesterday, but here we have the completely new story. + Old-School atmosphere! Not like Divinity OS, but like Icewind Dale or Baldur's Gate. Back to the roots, i like it! + HUGE POTENTIAL! If you, Guys, will fulfill all your promises, it will be the GREAT game! Way to go, Guys, way to go!

First impressions: This game's mechanics are extremely similar to Divinity: Original Sin. So if you're familiar with that game, the tutorial won't teach you anything new. AND, a bunch of the things that aggravated me about Divinity are absent from Willy-Nilly Knight. Merchants don't have limited gold. Your characters share an inventory so no having to switch items back and forth. Equipment doesn't break. And HP heals automatically after battle so you don't have to spend time healing everyone up with your skills. However, on the down side, the game is very simplistic when compared to Divinity. It's Divinity-light! The art is cutesy. Which is no bad thing in my book. The big bummer though is the movement. It's often hard to get your character exactly where you want them and allies can block each other easily. Many times I've gone into an alley to search for loot or talked to a merchant in a corner and I couldn't exit with that character because the other one was blocking me. So I'd have to switch to the other one to leave. That aside, I'm having a very fun time. The hero is a young boy who lives in our time but wakes up in the fantasy world of King Arthur. Actually, the boy's name happens to BE Arthur. When he immediately sees a sword in a stone, he figures he must be dreaming. But when he has to rescue Guinevere from goblins shortly after, he finds things to be just a tad too real to be a dream. So.... I shall play to see what happens. I'll update this review if I feel the need. :) P.S. Just like in Divinity, if you approach an enemy as close as you can without triggering a fight, you can get in a free hit with a long range attack before the battle sequence begins. Addition after playing 5+ hours: The story and dialog is silly and not always in a good way. If you're looking for a deep and involving plot, you won't find it here. However, the battles are fun and there are a good number of side quests so I'm happy.

Whilst I initially liked the game and found it quite good, the combat leaves a LOT to be disired. There is no strategy involved. Having placed my characters behind a huge rock, the enemy could cast spells straight through the rock and damage my characted. Not area of effect spells, but individual spells ie. magic misile. My intent was to force the ranged enemy to come closer by having to navigate the obstacle, but no, they did not need to do that. They just got within the required range and blasted my characters strainght through the huge rock. Why have any obstacles at all, just a blank game screen would have sufficed. Disapointed to say the least.

So far i'm extremely into the game. Its a fun and challenging game. The combat system reminds of divinity original sin and anything above that no. But it has it own kinda feel, its a very basic idea of an rpg but somehow it also strikes me fun and addicting. And for 15$ its almost a steal. AND If a Dev reads this, i love the idea of the jokes about games and movies in the game. And i kinda dig it because of the main character.

Great game so far. Will be playing it alot more. Dev's got some work to do but there doing a great job atp. Really loveing the turn based combat, not to hard to pick up on. The quests could be writin alittle better (a work in progress) A Dwarf wanting his watch...Really. Should be wanting his axe or a piece of armor. All in all buy the game and support this Dev team. They are doing a great job putting this little gem together.

if you like divinity original sin, you'll love this not near the scale of divinity, but I picked this up on sale for 12 bucks combat is exactly like DOS minus the elemental stuff fun game, nice artwork, music is decent, simple crafting the gear is a little thin, it would be nice to find more random treasure totally worth the money

Definitely the game you want to play. Some of the parts are still in work but it looks like RPG fans will soon have a chance to try a really beautifull, fun and old-fashioned game. Looking forward to see: ENG dialogues, voice over, smooth click-to-move. Good luck to all people who took part in WIlly-Nilly creation, definetely you have a sense how to create an oldschool turn-based RPG!
