  I bought this because I want to support the developer of this truly awesome game, but for the love of god quit releasing visual only block options as your DLC! Add new *official content* instead of relying entirely on your mod community for this. The BASE game sorely needs: more manufacturing options, more ore distribution options (i.e. deep core mines), more PvE options (both vehicles and NPCs), more weapons, shields, more sensors, an economy, more reasons to explore, etc. There's so many places you could take this awesome game but you release these visual only block packs. To call this "Heavy Industry" without actually adding anything to manufacturing is a real miss. Visual options only. Thumbs down.

  Sure, I agree that the devs should put some effort into adding more free things to the base game as opposed to exclusively making DLC like they have been. However, I personally really like this DLC and am surprised to see the mixed reviews. While the devs should work on the base game, I'm reviewing this DLC for what it contains as opposed to what the devs should have been taking their time to work on, since this isn't a workshop page to discuss and criticize their prioritization. I like to create industrial-looking creations. Industrial-ness can give off the impression of raw power and utility. Going in order for each new reskin / item, these are my OPINIONS on them. You may disagree and that is fine with me. Rating them out of 5 stars for how much they add to a more industrial aesthetic. - The large magnetic plate can look good in larger builds where the normal landing gear could look a little small, however it is a somewhat rare use case. (3/5 stars) - The beam blocks are great for making builds look sturdy and help to make builds look more detailed. (5/5 stars) - The pipes may be my favorite parts, as the default conveyors can sometimes look a little odd with how square they are. The pipes fix that and can make builds, especially industrial ones, look so much better. (5/5 stars) - The cylindrical column is fine, it is nothing particularly special but does help add a bit of structure and detailing. (3/5 stars) - The vertical button panel is okay. There are situations where it works but in most cases you will probably find more use out of a more standard button panel. (2/5 stars) - The large hydrogen tank reskin can be a little awkward to work with. It has only a third of the default's conveyor ports and not many mount points to place other blocks on it, and it does not always work amazingly in builds. However, I definitely think it has some good potential depending on how you use it. Also spherical shapes help with structural integrity, so it could be a practical design if that mattered in this game. (3/5 stars) - I like the large cargo container reskin. It looks heavy and, well, industrial. It may not always be the most useful (especially with 2 less conveyor ports), but I think it works well and definitely adds to the industrial aesthetic. (4/5 stars) - The assembler and refinery reskins have a great level of detail and can add quite a bit to a build. They don't always work as well as their normal counterparts, but when you have room to spare they definitely add to the industrialness of things, especially when combined with catwalks. Plus the devs added little hatches to access the inventories from the catwalk areas, which is nice. (4/5 stars) - The industrial hydrogen thrusters can look very nice in the right builds and certainly make things feel powerful. However, just know that if you have OCD and care a lot about symmetry, those things are not symmetrical in any way. (4/5 stars) - The hazard armor paint skin is quite nice, and it can be used in a lot of places, not restricted to just industrial builds. Unfortunately the skin isn't actually applied to most types of blocks, its mostly only armor blocks that actually get affected, which is unfortunate. For that reason I can't really give it a 5/5 rating, but I still really like the pattern and its nice that you don't have to stick to a yellow and black design but can also do other stripe colors alongside the black stripes. (4.5/5 stars) Good DLC, though the devs still need to work on the base game more. At the very least they added a couple blocks to the base game alongside this DLC, the armor plates in particular are wonderful.

  I'm going to recommend it because it gives some content which I mean I can't say they lied in any sense, they tell you what you're getting. To Keen, hi I've been with you since Miner Wars. I like your DLC, it's decent but we're getting to a point where I feel like the team doesn't really know what to do anymore. You gave us a DLC of Industry but gave us reskins, items we didn't need, and in the end nothing for actual foundings of industry. What starts your creations of Space Engineers? A drill, small at first but eventually upgraded to a bigger drill either on a base or a vehicle. I would have loved to see you charge seven or eight dollars if it included twice to three times the content. Again, a positive review because you didn't lie and gave us what's stated but I'm saddened by the obvious disconnect the team is suffering from.

  Kinda sad that a majority of the new content for updates are re-skins that get relegated to paid DLC.

  I mean... It's cool and all, plus we support Keen as these help keep the employees paid.. But can't you include more content per pack or fix the bugs and engine problems first? Something like this seems to just be avoiding something the community is already mostly unhappy with, since these don't really fix the problems with the game. Please... Fix the endgame and the bugs, we will keep supporting you Keen but not if your game is unplayable or not enjoyable like it is in it's current state.

  It's not the content we need, nor is it the content we want. Some of us just buy these packs to hope, that one day, Keen will give us proper multicore support, or move on to Space Engineers 2, in Unreal Engine 5, with VR support....

  It's one of those DLCs that's worth the money, like the decoration packs and wasteland. I like you Keen, and I like supporting you, but you better start doing some better stuff with this cosmetic cash.

  A lot of the components are reskins, of which are actually downgrades from what we previously had. The refinery doesn't have a cargo access port on it's staircase in the spot that one would be most beneficial. The assembler takes up 2 extra spots on your ship in the name of decoration. The thrusters while more pleasant to look at are harder on my performance than regular hydro thrusters. The Hydro tanks are just a ball with a slab on it's bottom and an access port at the top, so you have 2 access points rather than the 6. Additionally, it's side mounts near the base don't look right when attached to other blocks. There aren't even tanks that are just the ball with no base, which is disappointing. Really the only useful items are the beam blocks which are honestly subjective, and the better looking connectors, which is just a decorative piece. The 3 button panel, while having it's uses, doesn't have a proper data pad and the buttons are very tiny, which can be a problem in a low latency server. This in all honestly is just a decorative pack with no real gameplay gains, so I wouldn't buy it if you want a more enhanced gameplay experience, especially when the workshop exists. While definitely better than previous Keen DLC releases, I do have to say it was a little rushed with minimal thought put into it, and only worth it if you buy on sale. Keen, we get that you have to pay the bills, but this DLC policy is a terrible business venture and will only slow down the inevitable. Please just make a new game or let this one die, because this move is very saddening to watch. That concludes why I am leaving a negative review.

  Perhaps the weakest DLC Space Engineers has released to date. The dev team is very clear that the DLCs are mostly decorative as not to give any one group of players an advantage. This DLC set holds true to that philosophy but is rather thin. Some models are extremely detailed but the girders are just simplistic geometry and lack details or depth. They appear to be a tacked on last minute addition that even the dev team is not proud of as evidenced by not showing up in the promotional material on the steam store for this DLC. Unfortunately low effort models are not the only issue. The reskinned refinery and assembler - which the assembler is larger than the vanilla one - have very strick vertical orientation with the built-in catwalks. The only redeeming features of this set to me is the new armor skin and a new thruster that updates the classic hydrogen thruster similarly to the atmospheric and ion thruster from the Sparks of the Future DLC.
