  When I was 15 my grandfather gave me an empty safe. I filled it up with skateboarding magazines and promptly forgot the combination. Twenty years later I'm still screwing around, trying to manipulate it open. I bought sketchy books online, translated Chinese PDF's, and got asked to leave more locksmiths than I care to admit. Then Sophie's Safecracking Simulator showed up in my Steam queue.... See, try as I might, I couldn't bridge the gap between my theoretical understanding of safe manipulation with an actual hands on success. This game was so perfect in helping me understand the internals, that I'm proud to say as of May 3rd, 2022, I successfully opened my safe by manipulation. I have a Transworld and an issue of Mad Magazine to prove it. THANK YOU SSS BIG FAT RECOMMEND @ FULL PRICE. Couldn't have done it without you.

  This is a very cool game, the tutorial while complex is quite comprehensive. As a developer myself the attention to detail and care put into the interactions are fantastic. Awesome game that I could see myself spending hours on. :)

  I did the whole tutorial, and I did learn how a safe works and how cracking it works. I'm not experienced enough yet to crack the safes in the game, but at least I understand the theory, which is great. This game is pretty awesome, highly recommended for the curious minds out there. I knew nothing about safes, I have actually never even seen a combination safe like these in real life, and I already know a lot about them thanks to this game. Amazing! Thank you Sophie! ^_^ The tutorial is well explained, but it does take some experimenting for the theory to sink in. I'll keep playing it to try to crack the safes, and I'll update this review later...

  Exactly as it looks, it teaches you how to open a safe lock. If you have a bit of interest in the topic, this is worth checking out.

  Learned how and cracked a my first safe in two hours. Great learning tool, and a lot of fun to play. Would love to see more types of locks and different types of challenges. But for the price it's a complete package as-is. Highly recommend if you have any interest in mechanics. Also, check out Sophie's other game Pumpking. It rocks.

  As a lock picking hobbyist I figured why not, and gave this sim a shot. I wasn't disappointed. The techniques used, the way the safe is manipulated, and the explanations given in the tutorial all translate well to what you could expect on a real safe. Not to mention for the price point, this game is well worth it for those like me that enjoy lock manipulation, or those that even just enjoy trying to solve a challenge.

  [b]Sofie's Safecracking Simulator[/b] is exactly what the title describes it to be: a safecracking simulator for basic wheeled safes. However, the instructions in the tutorial are lacking, and I do not believe this simulator can be recommended to anyone who does not already possess some basic knowledge of how safes and their mechanisms work. [b][u]The Good:[/u][/b] The graphics, animation, and mechanics are very well done. [b][u]The So-so:[/u][/b] I know that if you mess up a crack halfway through, you'll have to reset by doing All Wheels Right/Left, which is completely realistic. However, a RESET button in a simulator would have been nice to have... [b][u]The Bad:[/u][/b] The tutorial tries to take players through a safecracking course, and this is pretty well done until you get to the part on how to determine the Large Wheel's number. Apparently the writer(s) simply lost the plot and completely forgot to tell players how to properly transition from the large wheel to the Medium Wheel and finally to the Small Wheel. It took me over an hour of researching outside of the game followed by in-game trial-and-error to figure out how to do it correctly. This information should have been provided in the tutorial if it had been adequately written. In fact, most of the problems with the tutorial would have been alleviated if the developer(s) had simply provided an animated example of the entire process. As it stands, the instructions are difficult to follow for anyone who has never used a safe mechanism before.

  26 October Update : Still have same opinion I really tried to look somehow that I recommend this game to the others but I can't . This simulator wasn't the same thing I thought before buying . It didn't explain locks very well and there is 1 model lock only . The atmosphere is very simple and dark and it could be very better .There is no music in the game . At least the price was fair . 4/10
