  One I've been waiting on for a good while now... bought on first day and not too disappointed, price is excellent and it might be the most fun and artfully well directed shmup since Tyrian in the late MS-DOS days. Excellent music and graphics and gameplay too. Once they work out all the bugs it will be legendary. Also the online leaderboards are fun to watch.

  Just getting started with this game but I've been waiting for it to come out, and so far I'm in love! If you enjoy old Sega-like aesthetic/sounds and cute-em-up games, you will love this game. The music and entire presentation is just so spot on. I think my only "complaint" is I wish the hitbox for your character wasn't so picky about picking up items. A little leniency with those would make the game feel just about perfect to me. Looking forward to playing more!

  Today was a wild day at work. My paws were killing me after going on a fish-catching spree and barking up a storm at all those fruits. My keyboard got busted, but it was worth it.

  Though there is some "fishy" business going on in the first stage, I believe this game was more than I expected. === STORY === (7/10) - The opening video gives a clear image of what's going on. - Taking Gravity Station Stage as example, the mystery given by the plot is good enough to get the player engaged and invested in what's next. The way the antagonist is shown throughout the game is pretty solid for this purpose. > The only drawback might be that at times the storyflow feels kind of obvious. The storytelling might be needing some surprise elements. === GAME MECHANICS === (8/10) - Classic sidescroller SHMUP. Excellent for old school vibe lovers like me. - A touch of space fleas (the debris that ends around the doggo) - Lot of yummy food that gives score. Even with multipliers if these are consecutive treats. - Interesting how the B.A.R.K. mechanics let the player press to fire a powerful BARK, but the autoshoot let the player rest its hands while shooting weaker beams. It is quite balanced and gives freedom of choice on how to confront certain situations. > The drawback I found is that great part of the weapon upgrades location are predictible, giving players with a good memory a huge adventage over those who cannot memorize the position of such items. It might be interesting to find a way to balance this aspect of the game. === MUSIC === (10/10) - I know this music composer. No words needed. === PERSONAL OPINION === I've been following this project for years since its development stage. And the current state of this game is something that I expected on launch. I was well invested on how this would turn out, and I'm happy that it didn't dissappoint me. I only hope that the little bugs here and there are corrected in time. But this was a hell of a good job. Congratulations, Kemono Games. Overall score: 8/10

  A promising cute-em-up on first sight is heavily dragged down by some downright bafflingly bad game design choices. It steps in pretty much every "Euro-Shmup" cliche trap it can. Needlessly convoluted power up systems, bullet sponge enemies, key mechanics being unlockables, questionable player hitbox, scoring systems that feel like an afterthought to my absolute favorite: Putting invicible, shot blocking pick up dispensers in front of enemy paths. I was really looking forward to this game. The end result sadly was a massive disappointment.
