  For a physics-based puzzle game to be non-deterministic is just unforgivable. There's many levels where you can have the correct solution but need to retry it dozens of times until you're lucky enough for it to actually work, and it makes playing the game a chore.

  For what concerns games belonging to long series, like Zup! which is already at its 8th instalment, I'm not going to write every time 50 pages long reviews even 'cos well it's full of awesome reviews on one side and on the other side, these chains of games are all awesome but based on the same mechanisms so it's not that useful for fellow players and friends to see similar (if not equal) reviews for Oik 2, 1 and so on XD Anyways, you like Kongregate? Flash games? Puzzle/logic/physics games? Stacker games? Red Remover? Well, the Oik series is one of the best available through all the web in my opinion. Of course, it's nothing new: we've been playing these block removers/logic physics puzzles for ages on our Win95 pcs and onwards xD But the Oik series manages, like the Zup! one (but Zup is made up by blowing up pieces and getting the ball into the required space, totally different from Oik), to create new instalments with new small additions, and more than everything else levels all different from each other, entertaining, somewhen difficult and anyways greatly realized, without physics bugs (often found in poorly realized logic games) and such. What's the base of Oik? Well, you've got 60 different levels and trust me, unlike Zup! in which you can try to make explode everything until you get some hint, here physics are absolutely the most important part. You've got to bring the blue block on its blue ending platform, and how? Well, manoeuvering everything else! Some level will also have inverted gravity and other funny things ;) Yeah, actually, there will be lots of inverted gravity and rotating balls and such here if you're used to the previous instalments.. xD You'll have to create falling columns of blocks, to manage levers, to save green blocks from falling while mandatorily eliminating red blocks, you'll have to make smart use of every single white (i.e.: clickable/removable) block and also of the round balls - so that timing in these games, when realized well, is fundamental. Many levels, starting from the third one, will require lots of reloads ;) The music's also relaxing and soothing, perfect for this kind of minimalistic puzzle physics game! I'd recommend it to anyone, as I'm writing it's not even sold at 1€ but like less than 50 cents so.. there's really no reason not to buy it! Let me just add something. I think that reviews here often say Zup! because they haven't spent years and years on Kongregate, Newgrounds or Armor Games.. if they had been on those sites for years well, they would be aware that those are two completely different kinds of puzzle/logic games: block removing games are literally the opposite of block exploding/chain reaction ones. Of course timing is essential and of course they're both often minimalistic and such, but the mechanics are completely another thing. Anyways, as I always do when reviewing Oik-like games, I suggest you warmly if you enjoy these games to check out Flash games too 'cos you'll find hundreds of levels with similar mechanics but different graphics and purposes, I know I'm a Kongregate addict (become my friend please I'm always active there ahahah) but these games to me are so awesome that it's great they can be played in an unique way on Steam, but they also need to be played enjoyed and supported on Flash websites too! So, Oik is completely recommended for me - every new chapter of this series adds dozens of new levels and mechanics and many levels trust me, they'll prove to be very difficult and they'll need lots of patience and thinking if you wanna get the single small blue block on its platform, while saving the green block too! And there's also an awesome system of reload, both with R - instant - and with the on-screen button, so that the game is super fast and never gets annoying. Anyways, this is my opinion. As a long time logic puzzle player I think that physics in this game are really good. I've seen way worse games, but I've rarely seen "better" games. Every physics game that requires lots of block removing and such, of course, can be different from user to user, way to way, it depends on the second in which you click and if you see a Youtube solution you'll never be granted to get the same exact result, both here in Oik or on every other puzzle game. It's great and cheap, so let's support them :)

  I love puzzle games but this one had something special to it, I couldn't let go of it as soon as I picked it up. Finished the game in one sitting, it is a very short game unfortunately but I purchased Oik 1/2/4/5 right after I finished this one. Looking forward to play those aswell :)

  Beware, the physics in this game are HORRIBLE. Trying a puzzle exactly the same will yield different results each time. This becomes so frustrating when many puzzles require precise, even pixel perfect reactions. The first two iterations of this game are passable Zup clones. This one however is just plain not good.

  Decent casual puzzle game. Dev retroactively added thousands of spamchievements yesterday. Appalling. PS: The dev did respond to their reasons for doing so here https://steamcommunity.com/app/655100/discussions/0/1640915206455927114/ And also rounded the spam up to the full 5000. Well, at least the max is reached now. *sigh*

  Games such as Minecraft, Dark Souls, or Assassin's Creed mechanics are so good they can be copied and improved upon. I wouldn't class Zup as a game changer though. The first game was fun, because it was something we hadn't seen before, but once you got to terms with the game, every other Zup/Oik title since then has been the same thing, as far as gameplay and graphics are concerned. Adding a portal or making it possible to reverse the gravity isn't going to change the fact that this style of gameplay is going nowhere real quick.
