Before I start the review I just want to say that this game was RARE. I have played NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 FULL BURST, I played Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations, and lastly NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. I never played Storm 2 neither Storm 1, I didn't have a PS3 at that time, I had a XBOX 360. I always heard people say that this is ''THE BEST STORM GAME'' I kept seeing that over and over the more I would look up Storm 1 stuff. Finally, from the power of Naruto Storm Legacy, I am able to finally test out ''The best Storm game'' Did it suprised me? or did it dissapoint me? This game suprised me... This game is a really god damn good Storm game. The game has a few things the future storm games removed: Jutsu Clashes, Wall Running, Longer Ultimate Jutsus, Button inputs for Ultimate Jutsus, and The super punch. In terms of the game port. It's amazing, It's an improved version from the PS3 version. Not only does it give the game 60FPS but some more graphics settings. Lets talk about the gameplay. I've seen alot of people in the Naruto Storm 1 and 2 Discussion forums say the games are ''slow'' The game doesn't have to be fast to have good gameplay mechanics, whenever I play this game, I get a feeling of thinking before acting. Which I mean.. that's essential for EVERY fighting game. The players that complain about Storm 1 being slow are probably players that just straight spam Chakra Dash in Storm 4. Just because the gameplay is slower than Storm 4 doesn't make the game bad. Character movesets are unique in this one, some of the characters don't have the same movesets in the future games. Not only that, but in this game, everyone has a side combo which the future games removed. The Ultimate Jutsus are amazing, they're cinematic, long, and really cool looking. I also love the way the Ultimate Jutsus work in this game, from my knowledge Storm 3, Generations, and Storm 4 whenever you would press Y Y B to do an ultimate jutsu it would make it so god damn obvious. What I mean by that is, for example if you do an Ultimate Jutsu in the newer Storm games, you see that the screen turns dark and freezes MAKING IT WAY TO OBVIOUS THAT AN ULTIMATE JUTSU IS COMING. In Storm 1 however that's not the case all that happens is your character will get a blue flashing aura around them. I also love the way you use your ultimate jutsus, In the future storm games it's most either Spamming the Ultimate Jutsu and praying that it hits while your opponent's substitution is all used up, or combo cancel into an Ultimate Jutsu, However in Storm 1 landing them is pretty unique, I think a great example is Sasuke's Ultimate Jutsu, He appears behind you and kicks you, Ofc spamming it will make it obvious, However If someone is charging their chakra, casting a ninjutsu, trying to awaken, that opens a great oppurtunity to use it and deal some damage. Speaking of damage, the Ultimate Jutsus in this game do a SHIT TON of damage, I think it takes 2 or 3 Ultimate Jutsus to take your opponent out or get their health extremly low. Anothor thing with the Ultimate Jutsus is that there are button inputs, Theres a type of clash once your opponent gets you into a Ultimate Jutsu. Depending on how fast you and your opponent are inputing the buttons correctly you will be able to dodge an Ultimate Jutsu. However, there is a catch. The person who catches you in the Ultimate Jutsu can mess up 2 or 3 buttons and still get you into a the Ultimate Jutsu, The person who got CAUGHT into the Ultimate Jutsu mess up even ONE button they won't be able to dodge it. So don't try rushing and mashing buttons randomly. In this game, you can still combo cancel, you can cancel into a jump dash for an air combo or a ninjutsu. Now for the big thing that bugs alot of players, the subsitution mechanic, oh boy... I'm saying this now the substitution mechanic is not broken, neither is it hard to do. The way you do substitution in this game is once you get hit press the guard button. Alot of players always say to spam the guard button until you get out of a combo. That is SO NOT HOW IT WORKS. You learn the rhythm of a character's combo, the timing is pretty crucial but practice makes perfect. I found myself substituting way more often if i followed the characters combo rhythm rather than spamming the damn guard button. I know beginners will feel like it's crap and pretty much say the game is trash just because of this but it just requires some timing and practice, don't expect to master this mechanic in a simple day or two, it takes time and practice but trust me, you will get a feel for it. As for game content, there is a fair amount, the one thing people love to bring up about this game is the free roam. My goodness is it amazing. Yeah sure, you can only move around in the village. But the stuff you can do is pretty cool I always do find myself going back into Ultimate Mission Mode just to mess around in the village. Overall, this game is definetly worth 20 dollars, atm I seriously can't put this game down, I'm playing it everyday at this point, I have Storm 4 in my library as well, but I sure am not having much fun with it as I am with Storm 1.

After Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, Revolution & 4, back to the Roots 11 years ago. Sure not so many characters, not so many moves, many boring running for treatures, food, many boring missions, jump behind , run tree above and the same fights with a few other requests again & again, but i enjoyed it, even if its old, even if the mission repeating to much. I had my fun somehow with me it has charme. Get it for 5 Euros & its fine

I recommend this game as long as you know what you're getting. I saw a negative review saying something like 'this is the worst one of these they have made so far.' Yes that's not wrong. Because it is the very first game in the STORM series that originally came out exclusively on the ps3 back in 2008, and each new game since has improved a lot. So if you want to experience the origins of the series as it was back then, I recommend this game. If you want the most polished fighting engine, and complete character roster, try a different entry in the series. Here are some other caveats you might want to know as well. #1: this game is really light on the story compared to all the other games in this series. It just skips the Zabuza Arch, and there's very few elaborate quick time cutscenes the series is famous for. And the most you get for context many times is just a couple paragraphs of text explaining the story before the fight. I think you can unlock some OG Naruto story moment in STORM 3, so check that one out if you want. #2 the open world and the forced sidequests are bad, and they waste a lot of time. So I'd also recommend waiting for a sale and getting it in the bundle. Since I owned STORM 3 previously, I got the 'complete your collection' bundle with this and STORM 2 on sale for $13. You could do worse.

The original UNS game, this game covers the original Naruto saga before Shippuden, the main adventure mode might feel slow and grindy but if you love the series this game offers enough to be worth the purchase, from the original voice acting, to the spectacular animations on the attacks. Known Bugs: more often than not the game will simply not close, your steam will show you as playing the game and it will acumulate playing time, in order to fix this the only solution so far is opening the task manager and ending the game's EXE.

Let me be clear here, as a Game overall, it is fine more or less, boss battles are cool, though game play in battles does feel somewhat stiff compared to the other games, but what do you expect from the first one. The Leaf Villiage is fun to run around, and it does look pretty good graphically. but there is a few things about the game that genuinely piss me off that I can't give it a positive review. First, there is no real tutorial for the battles, it just expects you to figure things out, which is fine for someone who has played the other games, but the newbies will want to start at the first one, and the first one doesn't teach you at all on how to fight, which is pretty bad for a fighting game! Second, The AI in the story fights is, for the most part, Brain Dead. Seriously, it's more or less a punching bag most of the time, I had to LET IT hit me just to fulfill a few bonus conditions, like enter awakening mode, which you need to be either on your second or last health bar just to access it! Lastly, and what Pisses me off The Most, is the LACK of details to the original story of the anime and manga! Yes, I know the story pretty well, but alot of people who never watched Naruto will want to play this game to get into it, and they will be lost! it COMPLETELY SKIPS The Land of Waves Arc, Hell Zabuza and Haku aren't even in the roster at all! it gets through some of the Chunin Exam Ark at a break neck pace, hardly mentioning Sasuke's Curse Mark, Kabuto wasn't even mentioned at all, and only said who lost or won in the prelims, not even mentioning Hinata's or ESPECIALLY Rock Lee's Injuries, and hell they don't even explain who everyone is at all! Yes I know them pretty well, but a new fan won't! and it's because of all of this, that, as JUST a game, it's fine overall, but as an ANIME Game, that does follow the main story of the anime, and that it does a VERY poor job of telling that story, hell it doesn't even have any real cutscenes for the story, it fails HARD. If you want to see how Naruto's Story Began, you would be better off looking elsewhere.

The age of this game shows... I love naruto and all the characters, but all the "battle conditions" and unfair fighting mechanics ruin the fights. If you aren't fighting, you're doing copy/paste minigames or running around the leaf village and I hate to say it, but the freeroam is the best part of the game. The fact that you're required to win fights in a certain way is enraging. You can destroy somebody in a fight, but if you don't keep a third of your health, or 70% of your chakra at the final blow? Nope. Go through and do the fight over and over again until you do. This game is infuriating and I truly hope the next games fix some of these issues. I'm fighting gaara right now, and his kankuro will ALWAYS land his move, whether I hit him or not. But when I put kankuro on my team, he runs away when he gets sneezed on. Lame first installment.

I adore this game, I think it's fun and charming and varied. By no means do I think this is a masterpiece, but not every game has to be. The Naruto cast has a huge range of characters and this game effectively skims down to a varied roster where you can feel differences in each character you play. If this game had an online fighting system then I would probably complain about balancing - some characters or moves are objectively better than others. But as stated there isn't an online mode so it's not a fatal flaw for the game. Speaking of moves, there's plenty here to experiment with - you've got your basic combos but you also have your Jutsu and Ultimate Jutsu which come with beautiful cutscenes that capture the feel of the show's animation really well. There's nothing more satisfying than landing an Ultimate Jutsu on your friend first try and then watching their horror as their character of choice is absolutely decimated in the cutscene. Which is all well and good when you're playing in local multiplayer but, even I have to admit that watching the cutscenes can get really repetitive in normal gameplay. And that's not the only feature that's fun at first before becoming repetitive, your hub area of the Hidden Leaf Village has a fair amount of empty-ish space that you will do nothing but run through. There's stuff to do in the hub for sure and with the Naruto Cannon movement can be intensely fun but going to and from places can really begin to drag the pace of the game and your potential enjoyment down. So with all the flaws present, why do I love this game so much? Although it may sound like I have a case of Stockholm Syndrome, in actuality it's just because of how fun it is to pick up a controller and pull out some fancy Jutsu. It sounds ridiculous but the game is tailor made to make you feel awesome, the punchy sound effects and win screen with grinning characters really do create a feeling of epicness when you take down your foe. In essence the game works perfectly as fan-service in regards, play as already established characters and take down the big bad, or just any friend you can rope into playing with you, and have fun doing it.
