About the Game

This is the future - a world ruled by mechs.

Cars are long forgotten. The only thing that matters today are mechs - giant, powerful robots. And you? Well, you make loads of money on them. After all, you are a mech mechanic!

As a mech mechanic you will have to compete with the largest corporations of the modern world. Deconstruct, repair and improve giant machines. Create your own company and lead it to glory. Accept the challenge of creating your own state of the art mech - the most developed robot in the world.

Your job is to examine parts and find those that need to be replaced. Detach broken elements and order new ones... But remember, even the most damaged items can be reused. Renew, refresh and restore them, so they can be used again. Fix whatever you can. And the rest? Sell or melt it and craft into something entirely new!

Job offers can ask you to repaint some mechs, while others have to be updated and prepared for their new jobs. There are plenty of kinds of mechs in Mech Mechanic Simulator. And they all have different purposes. Increase your prestige and gain access to more complicated and state of the art machines.

Reputation of your warehouse constantly grows and corporations are less and less happy to see how well you manage to develop your business. It's about time to roll up your sleeves and compete with the biggest. Let's see who is able to create the most advanced mech of the future!

Expenses need to be covered. Your workshop could use some improvements and resources aren't cheap. Mech parts break all the time and your clients’ expectations are ever rising. Try to keep up if you don't want to get beaten up by your competition.

Gameplay is ok but nothing special, gets monotonous very quickly. I love the mechanic sim games (have hundreds of hours in them) but this is just cashing in on the genre without bringing anything new to the table in gameplay. Also the game has been abandoned by devs with no updates since April and it only had limited attention before that. Personally I feel this isn't worth it, there are better mechanic sims out there for a comparable price.

Got it 70% off (6 USD). It is a fun little distraction, but I wouldn't spend MSRP, the game has good concept but seems like development stopped so it is basically a really fun mini game

Mech Mechanic Simulator (MMS) attempted to inject a bit of sci-fi-ness into the "mechanic" genre, but a multitude of problems, lack of variety (only 9 mechs), UI problems, not enough reward for doing mechnical work, and so on ultimately made the game just not that much fun to play. You work as a mech mechanic with your own little... garage where you can maintain one mech at a time, as you take apart mechs, you can hold two pieces of its chassis in your two workstations. A tractor beam array keeps the mech stable while you remove limbs and whatnot to extract parts for repair, refurb, or replacement. The workflow is simple: take a job, get the mech washed (if needed), scanned for problems, and dismembered so you can get to the malfunctioning part. Find the piece(es) broken, replace parts as indicated (figuring out how is up to you). Re-assemble the mech, paint if necessary, calibrate if you want, and return the mech for payment. The parts you extract can sometimes be "repaired" at the various workstations around your garage that you accumulated. Structures can be welded for reinforcement. Rusted parts can be cleaned, software can be upgraded. Cables can be "repaired". Modules can be debugged. Power sources can be refurbed. But it's all just minigames, not much finesse to them. The problem is you just don't seem to be making any money, because a lot of the jobs asks you to replace a part. However, you are paid a flat fee for repair, instead of separate parts vs. labor. And replacing the parts can get expensive, eps. when a lot of the optional objectives were to "replace part X with new". Your 15000 pay (it varies, but averages about 15K) isn't that much when you have to pay for 10000 worth of parts. Sure you get to keep the broken / used parts, and you can probably "fix" them (if possible) and possibly sell them. But a bit part of your pay then is in broken parts, not cash. As a result of the aforementioned way you spend money, you get into a "cash crunch" very often, as you are paid by more and more used parts. Yet you CANNOT buy/sell parts from the "shelf", strangely, both downstairs and upstairs. Only at the workstations downstairs. And when you have an overflow of inventory, you have no idea how much you can sell them for. There is no "net worth" at all. There is a "black market" once you reach a particular prestige level, but it is very painful to use, as you have to search by part number. Speaking of black market, access to it depends on you doing some work for "Cyber Mechs" the less-than-legal and unofficial 4th mech company. Prices are supposed to be lower than the regular market, but since searching for the part is painful, you probably would not bother. The timed jobs are EXTREMELY tight on time. 3 minute 20 seconds to replace one part, with 2 more optional parts to replace. 5 minutes to to replace 2+3 parts. I tried doing 3 parts and it took me 4 minutes 8 seconds and there were no wasted motions. So the timed missions are ridiculous. Of course there's no onscreen timer to warn me if I'm going over (or it's so subtle I missed it?), or whether the timed portion was only for the required part and the optional objectives do not take up time on the timer... Nope, not told that. As you finish more jobs, you gain reputation with the various manufacturers / factions / corps, and when you get enough total rep, you gain "prestige level" which gives you access to more features and more workstations so you can do more sophisticated repairs, and eventually, your own mechs and participate in trials and such. It also lets you take out loans, get your own mech space so you can buy your own mechs, refurb them, and sell them for even more profit. You also get maintenance contracts, where instead of individual jobs, do multiple jobs for the same company and receive a contract bonus, provided you don't screw up. There's a small action game in the "calibration" but that is just a time waster for no appreciable gain. You basically play a minigame with the mech. If it's a mining mech you play combat mining with some "flamethrowers" in the tunnels simulating hazardous conditions. You have limited time to "mine" X crystals withotu being overheated. Bonus pay for having calibrated a mech is only a few thousand credits. Other mech calibrations may involve different minigames. It gets repetitive very early on. Diagnosis of a car at least require you to try a couple different things, like OBD scanner, multimeter, and so on. In MMS, there's only one scan tool. Scan and done. The UI also seems to fight you half the time. There's no separate "inventory" tab on your computer or tablet. You have to run to the "storage shelves" to access your inventory but you cannot buy or sell there... You must do it from the two repair stations as you pull parts off and put parts back onto the mech components. Heh? Some of the cables and whatnot are extremely obscure. There's one model with a TINY cable near the knee joint that's UNDER another part, and it is VERY EASY to NOT put it back as it's practically invisible. Except when you try to assemble it it shows as "broken -- missing part", then you pull your hair out trying to figure out what's missing because the part you put in has covered up the other part. Also, the game doesn't reward fixing the mechs that much. You can probably make money much faster with the "global market" (i.e. stock market of the 3 mech vendors) if you have like 50K to 100K of seed money. You can quickly double and quadruple that with judicious trading on the global market with simple "buy low sell high". (And the graphs are VERY wrong) One of the perks of being a mech mechanic is you can own the mechs (up to 4), and you can send them on missions that can gain you resources (for crafting), money, prestige, or mech parts. You need to open up some garage spaces (up to 4), buy some mechs to fill them, then repair each until they are ready, Then add some perks as needed for mission. Then when right mission (requiring specific perks(s)) come along, send them out and they'll return in 24 (real-time) minutes. It feels very... unsatisfying. It feels more like a mobile game than something you do on a PC game. Buying the mechs can be expensive, but if you have access to the black market and have enough tokens, you get get a deep discount on some of the mechs, and savings can be significant. A damaged mech that costs 500K on the open market can be bought for 300K and 10 tier 2 black market tokens. However, getting the tokens requires you to do jobs for CyberMech, which isn't always available. All in all MMS tried to be different, and it succeeds half of the time, but it lacks that "something" to keep it actually FUN to keep playing for longer. It does introduce things gradually by locking them behind "prestige levels", but it doesn't feel I was being rewarded... It feels like more chores for me. Repairing things is actually difficult, and not really rewarding. There are only 9 mechs in the game, so variety isn't really there, and the only customization option is paint color and some decals. The ability to own mechs wasn't really rewarding, and the only real accomplishment, the cash counter, is more easily increased by playing the stock market than doing repairs. And the companion android, i.e. your tutor / consultant, is horribly annoying. Good thing you can shut him up. Oh, and the tutorials are just not good enough. For example, you can order a mission table before you even own any mechs, making the tutorial useless. Given all these problems this game is certainly NOT worth full price. If you can find it on sale, give it a try, as it's a change of pace from the usual mechanics sim games. But I warned you, it gets kinda boring fast.

For a start, I want to say: I bought this game on -70% sale. Mech Mechanic Simulator is like nothing else that I could find. If you dream about tinkering with massive, complicated mech machinery on quite precise level, that's your game. Also, If you like Car Mechanic, but want some bigger stuff to fix, grab it. Is it perfect? No. Far from perfect. Is it finished? At it's core, it is. But it's unpolished product abandoned by the devs. Is it wrong? I've got nearly 40h of 100% fun. For the price I've payed, i'ts a lot! I would even recomend it for 20$.

It has some nice mechanics and as a huge Battletech fan, it realls scratched that itch but sadly the content is shallow and the game has been abandoned by the devs. Some claim it has been a money grab to get some cash for their next project but honestly I think it was just too niche to be profitable. Sadly those devs lack experience in building a fanbase and will probably just vanish in due time. As for now, just avoid this and get something else like Car Mechanic Simulator or Hardspace Shipbreaker.

Ok, bit of a mixed bag here. Let's start with the good. It's a fun game overall. Not perfect. But fun. If you like the idea of repairing and refitting mechs out of a start up garage, then this would be perfect for you. It was awesome at first, with enjoyable gameplay that wasn't too simple or too convoluted. There are a lot of different mechs, upgrades to your garage, stock market stuff with the companies that make said mechs. Lots of good stuff. On the whole, I loved the concept and was fully prepared to sink untold hours into it. Gameplay wise? 7/10. It's good stuff that could do wonders with expansion and development from Polyslash. Notice the "could"? Yeah... we're covering that now. Here's where it gets messy. The game does have some bugs. Such as when you choose to upgrade a mech's software (like the tutorial said you should if you want to get better payouts) but then get a negative mark and a pay cut because you "stole" their software. This doesn't happen all the time, but when it happens in a contract string of 3 mechs? Oh it sucks. That pay cut hurts. The game is fairly bare bones beyond the repair elements. Paint jobs are a mess, your robot assistant is annoying as hell, the stock market is kinda janky. There are also missions you can send your mechs you've bought and refitted on... but they're clunky and take ages to even break even on the cost of bringing said mech up to speed... let alone making you actual profit. All of this, plus some minor bugs, could be fixed with a bit of dev team work. But... take a look at the update history and you'll see it's been over a year since it's seen any kind of attention from the devs. In short, it seems they've abandoned it and moved onto other projects. A great concept tossed aside as soon as they made their money back with a bit of interest. My advice? Don't buy this game, on sale or otherwise. It's fun, but not perfect, and the devs will not be touching it any time soon to fix said issues. Don't support people who don't support their own games.

I don't recommend it unless you enjoy the same minuscule game loop of taking it apart, buying new part, and placing it back together, with the only variation being washing the mechs every now and again or trying to "refurbish" parts you're gonna forget about later anyways because there's tons of them and no quick way to tell which parts are refurbished, new, or old. There supposedly is some interesting gameplay where you can pilot the mechs a bit later on but honestly it's such a slog to even get there. It's not a bad game, just a boring one for an extremely Niche Audience.

If you really love mechs then get it on sale. If you don't have a huge passion for mechs, don't bother. The game is fun until it isn't anymore and unfortunately that happens fairly quick. There just isn't enough here to keep the game fun. These types of games live and die by the attention the devs give them and this game got abandoned. Sad to see it happen, especially to this game because I was so pumped to be able to virtually work on mechs (huge Gundam fan).
