  Bought this for the multiplayer. Now it's gone. They don't want to support multiply fine, but they could have left it in with no future support, at least.

  They removed multiplayer after we bought it to play with our friends. I would recommend not buying anything from this company.

  I'm so disappointed that they've removed multiplayer. It seems to be rare that you get event cards anymore and I agree with what others have said about the lack of difficulty settings having an impact. My main annoyance is the layout. I can't look at my own cards large enough to read while the bots are having their turn. This is extremely frustrating and slows everything down. Going to have to stick to the physical game (which is great).

  I love this game! it's creative and the voices are so wonderful! I have found a few bugs but that can be expected from such a new game. the music is great and it's so visually appealing! I recomend it big time!

  I bought this for myself, and my best friend, with the hope we would play together, but to be honest it's actually unplayable right now. Online play is glitchy to the point that it's difficult for either of us to get online, and then once we're able to get into the game it has issues playing cards and freezes a lot. We were 4 turns in and the game said it was my turn on my friend's end, but his turn on mine. Niether of us could play cards because it would say it wasn't our turn. I had to leave the game, and it made me kind of sad wondering if I've just wasted my money. Please fix this! I own the physical game and all the expanisions and simply LOVE it, it would be great to play with people who aren't local to play in real life.

  Edit: The developers have now removed multiplayer entirely. What a joke. Ask anyone what the best part of Gloom the card game and they'll tell you it's the cool stories you make up with your friends while playing. Excited for the digital version I bought 4 copies for me and my friends and we got on Discord to tell some stories. Red flag: even the maximum turn time limits are very tight. We could live with that. However the real issue is what happened when one of our games crashed. They were AUTOMATICALLY REPLACED WITH A BOT WITH NO OPTION TO RECONNECT. Completely ruined the game and the product as a whole. Not recommended unless you enjoy playing against the computer.

  Buggy as hell and very very unstable in online mode. There is no chat (which is curious because Ticket to Ride has it) and the game crashes in online mode kicking players out (without notifying the other side that their partner just left the game) or getting stuck telling each player it is their turn. It is a pity because it is a very good game otherwise.

  The complaints about this game in other reviews almost kept me away from it, but as someone without a lot of people to play this with in real life Gloom Digitial Edition is a welcome addition to my library of board/card games. If you're looking at this review it's because likely you already know what the game entails and you'd like to know if it's worth your money and for this reviewer, I believe it is. First off the pros - This game is utterly macabre and delightful, the animations the characters make when you afflict them with a malady are cute, and the gameplay is smooth. Any reviewer saying the game runs slow isn't being honest with their definition of slow, the animations the characters take are 3 seconds at most, and there is even an option to turn off this feature for quicker more streamlined gameplay. The game plays well and it's well worth your money. The cons - While this game has an online function, currently, the rooms are ghost towns and you'd be lucky to get in one game a week with someone random. The AI in the game is tricky but after a while of getting used to how to game it, the AI can be tricked into making some bad moves. Finally, the sound sometimes loops when a character dies, for instance when Balthazar the dog takes a dirt nap, the person being afflicted after him may make the same noise the Dog made which is a little odd. Some functions I wish were in the game are glaringly missing such as the ability to look through your discard pile and to see the order in which the modifiers on your cards were placed. While they have a history function it isn't as simple to read and often slows the game down in regards to flow, not physical speed let me be perfectly clear about this. This is a good game, pick it up if it's ever on sale, and you'll play it every once in awhile to kill the time but I highly suggest getting out into the world and finding some friends to play the physical edition with because the expansions far exceed anything currently offered on Steam.

  I like this game as a card game, and the dialogues given the the Addams Family style characters is entertaining (and Mr. Giggles is properly disturbing). However, the game needs a back-up function. It is incredibly easy to accidentally drop a card on the wrong character (aka YOUR character) when you were aiming to make your opponent's life difficult. There is no confirm function at the end of the turn or a back up button to say "No, Game. You put that card in the wrong place." So, the game in principle is fine. The video game controls are not.

  I love the card game. Bought a whole bunch of expansions and played it a hell of a lot. So I was super excited to find a digital representation on steam. Sadly, I just couldn't play it for more than twenty minutes. It took a while to figure out the controls. I misplaced a couple of cards and couldn't go back. Forced to wait through AI turn segments with forced time-between turns.... Wasting time without any benefit... Great voice-over work. That's a fantastic touch. But it's not enough to bring me back. I just couldn't play the game as a solo-player as quickly as I'd wished.
