  One of the most enjoyable Bullet Hell Shoot Em Ups I've played. As you slowly lower the girls HP, they start to lose their clothes, eventually becoming full nude, if you 100% the girl, there will be a bonus scene that you can interact with under the "collections" menu. The difficulty slowly spikes up after the 3rd girl, well to me it felt like it. !READ BELOW TO REMOVE CENSORSHIP! For those that care, there is a a way to remove the censorship Go to Steam folder > steamapps > common > SekaiFrieden > Epido_Data> Remove Cover.png file. There you go, enjoy the game uncensored!

  [h1][b]EPIDO - A Pleasant Surprise[/b][/h1] [b]*I didn't expect much from this game, but it has ended up actually surprising me and I would be lying if I said that I haven't enjoyed my time with the game.*[/b] [h1]Gameplay[/h1] The game is a top down bullet hell space shooter. There are plenty in terms of enemy bullet types and it's fun to play and avoid the more complicated bullet patterns. The game features an upgrade system where you can upgrade your Power, Health and other forms of stats as well as purchase special abilities that you can use during levels. Each level is centered around a different girl and each level also has 5 different degrees of difficulty each with more and more money being rewarded for completing them. [h1]Visuals/Artstyle[/h1] The games looks are pretty appealing, at least to me. I like it. It's nice and clean and the colors also blend pleasantly together. It's clear that whoever drew this, knew what they were doing. It looks very crisp. I really like it! And since we are in the visual section of the review I might as well toss in the fact that the game also features a gallery with animated sections with yet more nice art. So that is another plus! [h1]Controls[/h1] Now, the controls are not bad at all. The controls that you are given are responsive and work perfectly fine, though there is a few things that I think could be added. Nr. 1 - It would be great instead of being forced to use the arrow keys to move you could be allowed to customize them and set them to W-A-S-D instead since that would allow for more precision which is crucial in a game like this. Nr. 2 - Also, I think many would appreciate there being controller support for this game, since using the keyboard can feel a bit awkward sometimes, again this is just my opinion, it's fine if you disagree. [b]Maybe I am asking too much of this game. It doesn't even cost 2€ so I don't want to be too demanding on it.[/b] [h1]Story[/h1] Let's be honest. You don't buy this game for the story, and if you do, you will be disappointed. There isn't anything to it really, but it does try and tell a story through a few little pictures that were also nicely drawn. [h1]Conclusion[/h1] I really didn't expect a game such as this to be this much fun, but I am very glad to say that this is one of the few cheap hentai games that are actually both fun to play as well as being pretty sexy. If my review has peaked your interest in the game, I strongly recommend giving the game a chance! You can always refund it if you don't feel it. But to me, it's very clear that the developers certainly gave it their best shot at making an enjoyable game, and in my eyes, they succeeded! I strongly recommend!

  Epido is an ero shmup along the lines of DEEP SPACE WAIFU, 7 Sexy Sins, or so, except much more trying to be a real shoot-'em-up. It even tries to be hard at times, with the later stages on max difficulty (or arcade mode, which is set to max difficulty) having a few tricks up their sleeve. However, generous hit points and special abilities make it still not all that hard. Anyway, while not as aesthetic as Deep Space Waifu can be when that series was on its better moments, Epido was still pretty decent, especially for the all of $3.60 or so it and its expansion cost at full price. Recommended to anyone who likes this silly subgenre, though as a warning it actually does expect you to be capable of playing shmup games.

  This is a great shoot'em up game, and not because only of the anime boobs. How this game works is simple, you have to fill up a love meter for each boss/girl by clearing her level. If you are very good at bullet hell games, you can just chose the harder levels, which will make it faster to fill the love meter (you will only need to clear it 2 times with the hardest difficulty). But even if you suck, you can just clear the easiest difficulty 10 times, and you will enjoy both a CG (50% clear rate) and an animation (100% clear rate) where you can do nice things to the girl a little bit like in Mirror. Beating levels will earn you gold, that you can use to level up your character, make her more powerful, give her more HP or MP, get her other shooting patterns and skills that you can use during the level. Compared to Deep Space Waifu, where you have to clear each girl only twice for all or most achievements, here you have to go the same level many times, but each time you go, you will be a little stronger, which will make it easier. For that reason only, the replay value is way better here. The best thing in this game is that you can enjoy it whether you are good at shmups or whether you suck. The bullet patterns are really crazy in higher difficulty levels, plus you can earn a lot more gold if you time the destruction of clothes right when there are many bullets on screen. You also get a gold multiplier at the end of the level: the less damage you take, the higher it will be. For the nude part, the graphics and girls are cute and getting not only one CG but also an animation for each girl is great. There are some minuses: there is only one BGM for the levels, and no pad/mouse support right now, but that's all I can think of. Considering the price, this is a really great shooter game. Highly recommended. Now I need to go buy some more tissues, great.

  This isn't another "trash" hentai game, it's actually very good and challenging, cool aspect about game is that it rewards you *wink wink* when you complete 50% and 100% of stage.. "Stage is basically level aka one girl and % you get by completing stage on different difficulties (20% each difficulty), it stacks so you can play 5 of 1 star difficulty (20%)." .. on 100% you get EXTRA "mission" on collection tab. Gameplay is classic space shooter where each level (stage) has different Boss (girl) with unique abilities and before boss is classic shooting enemies to collect abilities and collect gold, every stage is upgrade of previous stage pattern is similar of enemies spawning and attacking but its starts to be more and more difficult even if you pick lower difficulty. With gold you buy different upgrades in Shop, such as max HP, max Mana, power upgrade, different shooting styles and abilities that u can select before starting stage and those has cooldown and don't use mana (slow time, double power, heal, invincible). "You mostly get gold when boss switch phase, then all her projectiles become gold, also depends how you perform you get game stars at the end of the level (stage) and every star multiply gold for x1 (of max x5)." Mana is for using slash ability to destroy enemy's projectiles. Few tips for the end of the review: First play game and finish stage then "watch girls" FAP , cause you get in collection same what you see on background while fighting boss, also remember you get extra mission if you get 100% of stage (will not spoil that but you can imagine what it is). Maybe you played few similar games with keyboard only, but if you are kinda not good with keyboard or new to this type of games I would highly recommend that you use *Mouse Move Mode* its located in options (maybe its personal thing but for me you dodge easier and for sure you move faster cause keyboard has limited speed while mouse speed depends on your sensitivity and dpi). I would recommend this game to all coomers and those that loves being rewarded after hard challenging games. P.S. Real challenge: TRY NOT TO COOM!

  MAJOR EDIT: So, a few days after this review, they added mouse support and adjusted the affection system. It's almost as if they listened to their customers... What a thing to do! So uh... I really don't have anything bad to say about the game now. I'll keep the previous information as a sort of log, but otherwise, I'd say the game's great! :MAJOR EDIT END There are 2 major things that really irk me about the game, and that's No Mouse Support and The Affection System. I'll go over those first, and then I'll go into the games good points, and it does have good points. Quite a few, actually. For a bullet hell game to NOT have mouse support is just terribly stupid. When you have hundreds of projectiles in a confined screen, moving slowly with the arrow keys or with a controller just isn't gonna cut it. Sure, it's still possible, but when you lack the precision of a mouse it's gonna be a lot less fun. EDIT: Waddaya know, they added mouse support. Even better. As for the affection system, this ties into the no mouse support a bit. In order to unlock the next stage (or girl) you need to reach a minimum affection level with the previous stage/girl. The easier you make the difficulty, the less affection you get. At the least, you'll need to beat the stage once to progress to the next stage and twice to unlock all that stage's "features". The problem is, that if you aren't good at bullet hell games to begin with and you then have no mouse support, you won't reasonably be able to beat the hardest difficulty for the stage to progress faster. Therefor, at the very most, you'll need to complete a stage 3 times to progress, and a total of 10 times to unlock all it's "features". Failing a stage grants NO affection. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The good points: -The bullet hitboxes are very fair, it's not often that you feel cheated out of your health. -The music isn't annoying, it's actually rather nice. -The girls actually have varied designs. -It doesn't bother with a convoluted story, there's a prologue and then you're off. -You can upgrade you abilities, and gold gained during levels stays even if you fail the stage. -Upgrades are varied -You can remove the censorship or keep it if you want. It's just a PNG file in the game data folder. -Controller support -Auto fire option -Fullscreen -Multiple language options -7 Stages + Extra stuff -A dedicated "collection" area for people who bought the game for... more carnal reasons. In the event you want a decently good game, or if you want some "material", this will satisfy either way.

  Long story short: this game have the potential to be good, but poorly implemented progression system and repetitiveness keeps it from becoming one. As for the H pics, few of them are quite good, others are... "ok". Progression in the game represented as a shop where you can upgrade your stats (Attack, Health and mana) up to 20 if you have the base game or up to 25 if you have a DLC, buy another projectile patter for you weapon (straight line or homing) and buy secondary skills (Time slow, Invincibility, Doubled Power, Heal) . Since your attack will increase as you progress through the game enemies hp had to be adjusted to increased value, which makes replaying earlier bosses extremely unsatisfying (since you're just killing them before they can do anything (you basically [b]forced[/b] to replay them, because to unlock all H content and achievements you have to complete arcade mode) and beating stronger bosses too hard or outright impossible if your stats are too low. Leaving you to either grind gold to get upgrades or grind affection points by selecting lower difficulty... The possibility to customize secondary skills and firing pattern is good, but it should be the part of basic features rather than a position in the shop. Because locking it not only increases unnecessary grind, but also leaves you disappointed after you waste you money on the skill or firing pattern only to discover it unfitting for your playstyle. It is empovered even more by the fact that "heal" is useless in it's current form, because boss battles usually last around 2 min and you tend to get hurt only in the last 30 seconds (2 last parts of bosses hp bar), heal has the cooldown of 40 seconds, giving you bonus 2-3 hp at best, alternatively you can get 5 seconds of invincibility with 45 seconds cooldown or 5 seconds of doubled damage with 30 seconds cooldown; in the arcade mod you get full heal and mana regeneration from powerups dropped by normal enemies in-between bosses. Regarding repetitiveness: Most of attack patters used on the multiple occasions (easy example is starting wave used by every single boss, except 4th and 6th bosses in DLC), and pre-boss stages feel mostly the same meaningless gathering of powerups to either upgrade your gun or heal for the arcade mod. The game would be much better without the unnecessary padding: pre-boss stages, progression system and… arcade mod (doesn’t bring anything new to the table, because you heal back to full between bosses anyway). You just spawn with a fully upgraded gun and facing the boss, which is balanced around a fixed stats to make you experience enjoyable, having fun beating it, claiming your “reward” afterwards and going for the next one. That strikes me even more, since dev have given us a really good example, that sometimes less is more: his idea of making exposition to the game in a form of wordless 4 panel comic is great, it would be even better if every single boss would get the same half joking basic backstory instead of cut content.
