Top 3 reasons to play Disaster Report 4: 1. Captivating environmental storytelling 2. The quirky and charming presentation 3. (spoilers) The fact that you can trick people in the shelter into thinking the normal water you sell is actually magical and gain a lot of money and popularity from it and with that popularity you manage to trick the mayor the same way you tricked others and tell him to change the title of the game to Disaster Report 5 or you won't give him the "magical water" and the mad lad changes the title. So basically this game is an outstanding achievement and you should play it.

While i really loved Disaster Report 2 (aka Raw Danger), I honestly can't say the same with this game. The game sure is good ol disaster report game but feels... more confusing. If you want a roleplay in this game, forget about it, you can't do much in it, besides the game makes you railroaded to some story section. And you will know which option actually changes the story. In comparison to Raw Danger, a game i really liked, that game provides multiple options but mostly they can impact the course of the story for a lot of characters, this game isn't like that unfortunately. Like in certain section, you unfortunately have to agree on something that obviously a huge scam, in order to progress the game. Also i find the characters in this game are... stupider than in Raw Danger, in this game, the characters like just goes on in daily lives in disaster situation, and most of them are a-holes. Like the shelter with exchange student, I guess good deeds goes unpunished is the huge theme of the story huh? But i gotta say the ending i had, which blowing up the trafficking ship is very satisfying. Altho it gives me 300 immoral points but I didn't give a shit anymore. I had enough with these people. If i have to rate this game, its 5/10.

I'll just ignore the localization because it's pretty typical NISA quality. It's the gameplay that's truly frustrating. The game features a morality system that nominally punishes or rewards you for the actions you make, but then it also forces you to do immoral or moral things in order to progress the plot...which entirely defeats the point. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to stay moral, but then being forced to do something immoral to continue the plot. I guess I'll just wait out the recovery effort in that tiny blocked off intersection near the canal.... Edit: Decided to give the game another chance and if forcing you to steal to progress wasn't bad enough, the game forces you to recruit people into a cult later. Seriously, why even have the morality system when the game turns you into an immortal tool by force.

Do not buy this game at any price. It is garbage. I like the Disaster Report series. This entry is not even in the same league as the others. Don't trust the demo. The game gets worse the longer you play it. Almost everything about the game is phoned in. The only people who put in any effort were the graphic artists and voice actors. Apparently it was delayed for years because of the 2011 earthquake in Japan but that doesn't account for the actively ridiculous decisions that went into this game. In addition to the long list of aggravating technical shortfalls I could mention, the game commits the cardinal sin of asking you to be invested in choosing your character's actions and then not only making those choices meaningless but forcing you to commit immoral or moral acts to progress. And not in rationally justified ways, no - you have to steal, swindle and indoctrinate one minute and then act like a saint the next for the sole purpose of triggering abstract progression flags - usually because your character refuses to climb over a pile of rubble that's one foot tall. And then there's complete nonsense, like being forced to beg for food despite having plenty in your inventory. They sacrificed a proper narrative for this milquetoast choose-your-path nonsense and then proceeded to systematically strip it of any meaning it could have had. It doesn't respect your time. Despite being completely linear, it forces you to wander aimlessly to find what to do next. Navigating around is cumbersome and takes forever. Saving takes forever. Skipping scenes takes forever. The credits, which actually don't take forever (compared to most games) cannot be skipped. Oh, and you're forced (again, despite the pretense of choice) to carry an injured stranger through multiple streets at a snail's pace for 15-20 minutes. Compared to other Disaster Report games, barely anything happens. When something does happen, 9 times out of 10 it's utterly stupid, and you have no option to do something sensible in response. The rest of the time it simply tries to emotionally manipulate you with characters you have no connection to, or else will scrape the bottom of the barrel with failed attempts to exploit shock value. This might work in a better game, but this game does nothing to earn it, and instead actively works to destroy your investment in its narrative. This game is terrible to an utterly baffling degree. Given how unfinished and badly-made it is, it should be 10% of its price at most. The price it is being sold for is nothing short of predatory. (The epilogue scenario is a nice touch, and it's free, as it damn well should be given the price of the main game. But you soon discover that you're not allowed to enjoy that either. It makes you load a save file but clearly doesn't remember anything you did, it continues the "wander around aimlessly to find the progression flags" model, and then after the first couple of chapters allow you proceed at your leisure, it starts forcefully booting you out of them while you're still exploring. It ends by turning a serious event into a joke sequence - during which there is a good chance you will glitch through the ground, like I did - and then shows a nostalgic montage from the game... featuring the default character instead of the one you created. Amazing.) Stay well away. Even if you like the series, skip this one - I'm begging you - and hope that Disaster Report 5 is better.

God damn every time i hear a crack or am under something i shit my pants! Game looks and play well for me. Was expecting a worst release on PC. Now if they could release the previous games while maybe doing a DR5 if possible, would be great:) Edit:Sure it needs some work and if we could mod it, it would be better. Aside from clunky gameplay, good enough graphics and well for optimization it isn't easy with how much it renders on screen etc...and UE isn't easy with some stuff. Overall it fresh and fun, wait for a discount if you can't and if not sure try Demo. Immagine if we had a magnitude 7+ Earthquake on top of Covid-19...sure its interesting playing this lately lol.

Before You Buy! This game is a story player-picked adventure. It won't be for everyone, but I personally enjoyed the Raw Danger game. So I gave this game a try. Put in your mind that you are expecting to read a book going into this game. Not full on Natural Disaster watching simulator. Pro: The soundtrack is relaxing piano musics. Make your story Fashion goldmine Cracks!!! Con: Animations feels nonexistent [Ex] People will just phase in or out of certain scenes. The controls aren't really pc friendly; it's best to have an xbox controller plugged in. No English Dub Span of 8 to 10 hours The outcome is the same no matter what choices you have chosen. The story is meh Tons of bugs Overall 3/10 Not Worth Full $60 for ps3 game that was delayed nine years. In my opinion, I believe that this game had a chance to be good during those years of being delayed. Wait until $20 sale and mods that bring better experiences while playing the game. I still recommend for fans that have played every release in this series. (Fun Fact) This game was released on March 10, 2011, one day before the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

I am new to the series, I am enjoying this game, story deals with the aftermath of an Earthquake. Player gets to interact with some characters and can choose how to handle the situation, I don't know if all the choices I made were needed to progress and the choices I made were correct, Player has an option to steal money or not, have to be mindful of things that a human have to do daily like eat food, etc. I am using a controller to play. Had no crashes etc the game plays well without any issues. Update I finished the game got the main two endings, have to get five more achievements. For me I enjoyed the game, after the game ends player can play Epilogue and it gives conclusion for the main story. Player can interact with lot of people and do things that's outside the main games plot, also choices made that's outside the main plot, rewards player with moral or immoral points, items, money, achievements etc, So If a player want to just enjoy the story no need to do this side quests they are not relevant to the main plot. The game is all about people and how they act when a disaster/crisis occur, player gets to meet different types of people during the time of disaster and experience how it all plays and also the player has a choice either to do good or use this situation to their benefit and make profit etc. I heard in previous title there were more situation of danger, and player had to escape many dangers, but in this game dangerous situation caused by environment is less than previous title. I played for around 20 hours first time and if possible might play a second time to get the achievements I missed. For this game getting achievements is not very hard it's possible, I am not an achievement hunter but when I find games that I can complete achievements I try to get them all.
