Train Simulator: Nuremberg & Regensburg Bahn خصوصیات

Take charge of vital passenger and freight services over stunning Bavarian terrain with the famed Nuremberg-Regensburg Railway, which is exclusively available with Train Simulator 2020!

The cities of Nuremberg and Regensburg were linked by rail as early as 1859, however, the route was unnecessarily lengthy and with traffic levels rising, the decision was made 10 years later to start exploring a newer, more direct route between them.

Eventually, a route via Neumarkt was chosen, and a single-track line was constructed in stages between 1871 and 1873, shaving some 40km off the previous journey and cementing the line’s importance as a long-distance link to Austria and Eastern Europe. One track became 2 in the 1890s, allowing for further traffic flow that didn’t interfere with oncoming services.

In order to modernise the route and prepare it for the future, the Nuremberg-Regensburg railway was electrified in 1950, and then in 2007, it was made suitable for higher-speed rolling stock. All this work has made the line essential for inter-city services, as well as turned it into a major freight corridor. The line also shares its tracks with the S2 and S3 lines of the Nuremberg S-Bahn network.

With plenty of traction every day and a diverse range of services to take on, all twinned with iconic station infrastructure and the scenic Bavarian landscape, there’s no resting on the rails of the Nuremberg-Regensburg railway, which you can explore now with Train Simulator 2020!

This should be a TS2020 showcase DLC? It's a beta DLC. Bad sound, bugs (e.g. sudden speed limits not shown accordingly). So what did actually change in TS 2020?? Better graphics? No. Better engine? No. Better sound? No (many delevopers simply don't understand the importance of a good sound in a game). Better immersion? No. Better UI? The heck, no. Better year? Oh yes, it's a 2020.

(NB: I'm bilingual but I'll leave this review in English whilst incorporating the criticisms of the German playerbase as best I can) This route is an atrocity. There are many, many reasons why, but we'll go over them in detail here as best I can muster. In a nutshell, however - and this is where, if you're primarily interested in making your own scenarios, you can stop reading - this route is scenic and wonderfully designed but the rolling stock that comes with it is a war crime. The biggest issue with the route are phantom speed limits which show up on neither the F3 strip HUD or on the actual lineside but this is fairly typical of Dovetail stuff. As is the rolling stock being terrible, but this...is a new low. The worst offender by far is the 440, and we're gonna talk about that train a bit here. First of all, it has not AFB. None. The real unit does, but on this one, be prepared to do the notch 0 notch 1 dance all the dang way. And this is *fine* on US railways where, thanks to their wonderful government and its equally wonderful policies on infrastructure and public works, the average speed limit is 35. Except here, in a sensible country with sensible rail amenities, the speed of the line is between 120 and 160 kilometers per hour. When you're yeeting yourself down the line at something past warp and nearing plaid, and you've to maintain the delicate balance due to the abusively psychotic scoring system endemic to Railworks/TS20XX, it becomes a chore, and it makes you feel like Stryker in that one scene of Airplane shortly after he gets told that we're all counting on you, and don't call me Shirley. The 440 accelerates, decelerates, and in general behaves more like an F-16 or a cruise missile rather than a train. I think we've not seen this sort of acceleration behaviour since the cancellation of the Mobile Minuteman project in 1959. Both accelerating and stopping is going to make you beg Angela Merkel for a g-suit, and all the while the game will keep spuriously quiet about drive quality until after every helpless lady and junkie begging for change on the S-Bahn line had been flung mercilessly against the dividing windows, packets of unmarked drugs spilling everywhere. The sounds are pure toss, they're utter wank, and were recorded on a Speak And Spell I'm pretty sure. The traction motors sound like if Iron Man built his leg thrusters out of leafblowers and the horn is somewhere between a Stuka dive bombing siren and a pro wrestler dive bombing a warehouse of those squeaky dog toys. I've never before seen Dovetail wank up the PZB system this badly. You *cannot turn on PZB unless you move 10 feet, zero the throttle, knock out the reverser and THEN turn it on using the usual key combo* and occasionally, it'll bug out and run through every mode endlessly all the while preventing you from leaving the PZB mode until after you've done the above arsing procedure once again. The destination display is broken. At least two of the scenarios for the 440, of which there are *three* have the ZZA (destination display) flicking between destinations constantly, and since you cannot change this in engine, only in the editor (adding a keybind would've presumably caused our Sun to collapse into a white dwarf or something), pressing F2 and zooming in on the ZZA will give you an epilepsy attack. The headlights have three modes as far as I can tell; off, dim, bright, and tail-light, and of course the switch is typically mislabelled so your high beams are your tail lights and so on. The passenger view is...okay. I don't know who'd buy a train for the passenger view, but there you go. Oh and the speed indicator is broken. Did I mention the speed indicator is broken? It's broken. THE SPEED INDICATOR. *IS BROKEN.* Do they really assume everyone drives with a HUD? In a simulator? I had to use the stupid arsing turbo-wank F5 mode to show me my speed, as if this isn't a train but some kind of maddened upgrade to the FW-190, where speed is affected by altitude. Even then, I'd like a true airspeed mode, please and thank you. Or at least an altimeter, Dovetail. As far as I can tell, this 440 is also the one they're selling for the Munich to Augsburg line. So if you've any designs of buying that, please, stop doing cocaine, we're all worried about you, and you're tearing your family apart. The BR 442 works. It's the Talent II. You know the one. If you've played a German route in the last decade, you've driven it. It's bad, we all know it's bad, we all know the LODs are broken and if there's more than two in a station your FPS decides to enter the shadow realm. We all know it has the headlight range of a flashlight being held by a teenager in a slasher film, and we all know that the sounds of anything other than the cab switches are somewhere between The Room and Gremlins II in quality. And whilst the train works, the scenarios it is on are INSANELY PSYCHOTIC. The time schedule is incredibly compacted, it's absolutely horrible in terms of just how impossible it is to get a decent score. I ended up having to drive using a stopwatch and braking at set distances to the point where I felt like I was playing Densha Den Go and I was *still* a whole-ass three minutes late. Every single time, too. This wasn't playtested, there was *no way* this was playtested, and if this was my first experience with TS20XX/Railworks? I'd yeet it into the garbage. Come on, DTG, please, do better. The BR 182.5 is the same one as it's always been. You've also driven this train. It's the same garbage. It's the same non-functional, non-clickable, barely passable garbage. It works, I suppose. The physics aren't there, the sounds aren't there, it sounds like an elevator being molested. One of the scenarios will powerbomb you with an unschedulled PZB stop because this DLC was made as a vendetta against the playerbase, I suppose. The windshield wipers don't work occasionally. Sometimes they do. Sometimes you can see the headlights from inside the cab, through the console. Who cares anymore. They don't QA their own lunch, let alone what they publish. The scenarios...work, I guess. Once again, switching between psychotic and lax as hell on the time schedules. You're either four minutes late or 10 minutes early. So yeah. Route's fine, I guess. I've never been to Regensburg but I've been to Nurenberg. The station is there. Bit pale, could use some extra bitmaps, but DTG would never put in the effort. In conclusion, Michael Scott from the Office yelling no dot gif.

When I try to switch on the safety systems (PZB and Sifa) on the Class 440, it tells me that they are locked while the train is moving. Except, well, the train isn't moving. Great job!
