  If you have a lot of games and don't have much time for them, it's easy to forget about games. But the great thing about it is that you always find one or the other surprise. And that's what happened to me with Hidden Folks. At first I thought it was a Hidden Object game like any other Hidden Object game, which doesn't mean that other Hidden Object games are boring, simple or whatever. On the contrary. Each of these games has its own charm and I've had a lot of fun with all of them so far. But Hidden Folks is currently the most elaborate, extensive and also most challenging of all the hidden object games I've played so far. And if my information is correct, the game is a collaboration between French animation artist Sylvain Tegroeg, who was asked by Dutch game designer Adriaan de Jongh if Tegroeg would like to develop a game with him. Tegroeg's hand-drawn black and white backgrounds were scanned and finally animated by de Jongh. The result is a picture book-like game full of life. Relaxed and stress-free searching without a time limit Due to the fine and clearly drawn lines, the individual large and small sections never appear blurred or hectic in any way. It looks more like a minimalist work of art in which you click through the different levels and rummage through bushes, turn over boxes, open manhole covers or window shutters, tickle monkeys or click on treetops to find the people you are looking for. Nevertheless, it is advisable to stay in the current world until you have really found everything. The game shows what is "needed" for each world in an interface, including the small help. Finding everything is not absolutely necessary for playing through, but if you want to take the achievements with you, you can't avoid it. A special feature of the game is, at least that's how I felt it, that it is or has the effect of being meditative and relaxing. There is no time pressure and no reason to find the hidden folks as soon as possible. There is so much to see and discover and the joy of trying things out to find out what is hidden behind a door, in a tent or behind boxes and bushes. Another part of the relaxing gameplay is due to the sound design. As far as I know, all the sound effects were self-recorded to create a kind of unique a cappella sound. The whole thing is controlled simply with the mouse. The image can be moved in all directions with a left click and hold and zooming is easy with the mouse wheel. The menu is relatively extensive. In addition to the credits, which you should definitely take a look at, some languages ​​can be set that were made possible by translations from the community and all people are also named in the credits. The game can also be played in full screen or in window mode with the desired resolution. The interface, which is also used in the game to help you find the people/things you are looking for, can be displayed at the bottom, left or right and there is the option of adjusting the scroll sensitivity (actually the zoom sensitivity). And if you've finished the game and want to play it again, you'll definitely be happy about the reset function. In my opinion, Hidden Folks is not only suitable for friends of hidden object games. Rather, the game is also wonderful for escaping the stressful and hectic everyday life in order to look for a few figures or objects in a relaxed, calm and stress-free manner.   A delightful game. Clicking anywhere will give you a lovely sound effect, and finding new items with different sounds is quite fun. The actual objective of the game is to find special people/animals/objects hidden within the different levels, however there is a lot to see and interact with outside of the set objectives. The game is very enjoyable, both in trying to find the hidden folks, and in exploring the rest of the landscape.

  It's Where's Waldo but no color, animated, riddles as hints, and the most lively sound production that might beat out some triple A games.

  [b]While not perfect, [i]Hidden Folks[/i] brings back fond memories of [i]Where's Waldo?[/i] along with some cool bells-and-whistles that makes it more of a 'game'.[/b] This title gets an A+ for some really neat art and creative sounds. The ambience is very well done. Yeah, it becomes a bit of a click-fest after a while, and yeah, the animations become repetitive quicker than I'd like. That's why it's best played in short bursts. [b]Well worth the few bucks to experience something unique for an afternoon.[/b] [i]Essentially, this is a hidden-object-game styled after a classic childrens book series.[/i] There is a bar on the bottom of each screen that has characters or objects you must find. Hovering over said object gives a slight clue - which is supposed to be used (unlike 'help' in other hidden object games). The sounds are all acapella. You can invert the black and white screen if you are playing in the dark - the game has nice touches like that. [b]Pros:[/b] +Fresh take on a classic childrens book series +The artwork and sounds are quite creative and work well together +There are a few 'mini-game' esque level variations that are neat +As of 2/17, they are apparently adding more content in the future +Good choice of quality-of-life game options [b]Cons:[/b] -Best in short bursts because there is limited animations and artwork; examples of this are things like - there are only a certain number of poses that quickly repeat, and other things like clickable holes in the ground or trees become redundant [b]While I won't be logging dozens of hours here, it certainly makes me smile and give me fun coffee breaks:)[/b]

  I picked this title up at full price on a whim. It didn't last long, but for a few short hours I forgot all about my high-pressure job. I was six years old again, and clicking repeatedly on cars just to hear them go MEEPMEEP. I bought several more copies for some friends.

  A spectacular game, Hidden Folks is an absolute joy to play. We had some fun playing this on the TV while everyone pointed at cool things and passed the controller around. It is relaxing, pleasant, and sounds/looks great. I am really looking forward to the next chunk of content. Great job developers, this game is really something special :)

  Love it. Sit down, have a cup of tea, play this game. Beware that it's not exactly like Where's Wally, there are a handful of characters where you have to get an animation going before you can actually click to 'find' the person. This advice won't make sense, until it makes sense, y'know?

  I just played under an hour with my kids, and we all had a blast. The sounds are funny, the animations are great, the fact that you need to dig/cut/shake/click on things make this hidden game really cool. It's a really nice casual game where you just kick back, have a cup of coffee and relax. A well deserved purchase !

  No click counters. No timers. No unnecessary game modes. Just you and the challenge to find all Folks and Objects following their respective clues. This is one of the purest gaming experiences I've had in a long time. Expect up to six hours of play time (if you're really slow like me) with the Factory Update. Don't forget that the developers are still working on free additional maps. In the now immortal words of Nina Struthers, "I bet you want this game. I bet you wanna buy this game. You will buy this game. I believe in you. Buy this motherfucking game!"
