  If you guys purchase this game and/or updated the game, then got a "glow" or bright white screen, turning the game's game quality to "low" actually got rid of the bright screen. I didn't really have to change anything else.

  Got it on sale for $1.59 and still feel ripped off. Steam said I somehow played more than 2 hours when this game was almost unplayable. I didn’t have known issues with the white lighting but then again couldn’t get far since all the pieces I kept trying to move that the game said I could place would never let me place in certain areas or without closing the option to move it and reopen the option multiple times. After moving 1-3 other items I could no longer move a different object without closing and reopening the option to move objects. Can’t even add doors to hotel rooms, menu prices can’t be changed by setting a price. Can’t move the elevator location, no food option for buffet. I know it’s an older game and the HD update made the game decent to look at and even some newer games look worse but if you want a game you can customize colors or choose decorations or turn to match then your out of luck.

  BE CAREFUL! I owned the original Hotel Giant on CD rom, but never had Hotel Giant 2. The recent sale reduced this game to little over £1, just under $2. Seemed like a good opportunity to try it out. Be careful about buying games like this one, you are playing a game that is by modern standards, very much outdated, the UI is bad, the controls are awkward,as such, this game bought me nowhere near as much joy as it did back in the day, when spectacular games like Skyrim didn’t exist. I’ve not reached even an hour on Hotel Giant 2, but it’s already uninstalled. It’s good that these old games are worked on to make them playable on modern machines; otherwise hundreds of timeless games could be lost forever. The HD remaster… isn’t really that impressive. No HD textures, no HD models, it still has that grainy look about it, but perhaps having the choice of original or modern standards of texture upscaling, might have worked better. I didn't notice any severe glitching or crashing while playing, like described by other reviews. It may have been fixed and updated, but I can only speak for myself on my own system. Conclusion 5/10 Nostalgia is for most part the driving force behind purchases like this, but nostalgia if I wasn’t careful, I would spend countless dollars on random, cheap nostalgic games. Nostalgia has become a huge business in recent years, retro, vintage, words that never really existed back when games like Hotel Giant were around. Buying a game like this is buying into this business. It’s cool, a nice throwback, but be prepared to be disappointed. Unless you love this game so much, please, SAVE YOUR MONEY, towards that $60 game that you really want. Better to play a few games for 100 hours than just for the sake of it. I’m just glad I spent £1.11 instead of £5.50.

  I honestly can't reccomend it anymore. Spent tons of time on HG1 as a child but now its lost it's glamour - too slow paced.

  Robbed. I actually feel like I have been mugged by the developers of this game. The HD update has rendered the game completely unplayable as the main screen turns into a bizarre white glow so that nothing is visible. Such a shame as this game is so much fun. Seeing as this has been the case now for nearly 6 months (since the HD update) and the developers have done NOTHING to rectify the situation, I am not holding my breath for a fix anytime soon. Stay away.

  Game crashes on launch, when it does not crash it only shows a black screen. Unplayable.

  Folks, if your screen goes white at main menu, just go to options and take off 'glow effect'. I tried this on the recommendation of other posters here, regardless of the negative commentary and my game is fine, and totally playable. For it's time, Hotel Giant is a pretty seamless experience. I've played worse games, and I did enjoy this one. Sadly, it seems it is the only one of its type out there, so we have little choice in the matter, if you want to be a Hotel tycoon. Pro's: Great graphics, reasonably easy building system, and still challenging getting your coverage up to 'all rooms full'. This version, being HG2, includes a lot more shops...originally, there were only three, now there are a good few more, including 'Arts & Crafts', Coffee shop, and some others. More content added that I might not have seen yet, as I am still enjoying my playthrough. Cons: It does seem that the punters don't give a damn if the room is done out in a hundred mismatched materials, if only all the top priced furnishings are used ..which gives them nothing to complain about eventually, but also means you can't do the decorating completely your way, from a colour scheme pov. Also, there is not enough micromanagement of any service available in the Hotel. I'd also expect cleaners, if nothing else, but I guess we can't have everything, Overall, it's still a good time sinker while you play it out. For a mere fiver and change, it's hardly vast in content, so you get what you pay for. I'll still stand behind it, as a 'Good Old Game.'

  Never thought I'd end up playing this again. Loved the original Hotel Giant as a kid, and it hasn't changed much at all from what I remember. If you're having problems with a white glow preventing you from seeing anything, turn off the glow in settings. The game isn't unplayable! Just old. For its time, it is a fantastic game. Looking past its ageing graphics, the gameplay is fun and engaging with in depth economic simulation. It's the perfect hotel management game if that's what you're looking for. A great game for those who love management simulators.

  Totally unplayable. The opening screen is clear and bright and the sound remains crisp and clear throughout. Once the menu starts up, it goes into a white blurry mess. No matter what screen resolution I've set the game on, It's still a blurry mess. I got this game through a package bundle cheap enough. The other games are fine. So I hate to return this game and risk losing the other games in the package bundle. Until the Dev's fix the problem with some sort of patch or something, you're just throwing your hard earned money out the window. This is a good game to stay wawy from!
