  Very promising! This is an enjoyable rogue-lite take on the cultivation genre. Still early access; 3 (or 4) stages at the moment, and an hour or two of playing will be enough to fill out your skill tree (transfers across runs). Would I like more variety? Absolutely. Game play is simple: WASD, Space, E, and LMB/RMB. Weapons strike me as the 'make it or break it' portion, currently. Level-ups/passives (from books) are fun, and can create synergies (looking forward to finding more). Overall, I'm satisfied with paying $9.99 for a game I know I'll come back to.

  Enjoyable roguelike game based around cultivation which is something I enjoy reading and looking up for genres. Gives a sense of growth and reward when you push past the earlier levels starting from zero like a true cultivator working hard to get to next realm of strength. Variety of perks on dropped weapons and skills gives countless builds. I remember having a run that made me feel op and it was an experience then instantly getting melted in the next one and having a sudden event that made me feel powerless but hopeful to learn what I could do to improve my next run. Would recommend if ur looking for a challenge and looking forward to future updates.

  Quick version: This is "The Cultivation of Issac", and I mean that in a great way. The controller support's still being worked on but is serviceable, and the game itself, a bunch of fun. Here's the big thing though. At the time of writing, I've had the game around 2 weeks and the dev's updated it 11 times. Almost once a day there's some small update fixing bugs and adding in some new combos, abilities, or whatever came to the mind. Heck since I've purchased the game there have been two full new skill trees added, so you basically eventually have 3 entire different character build types (Xian, Demon, Body). Weapon combos have been added that turn what are already good weapons into room clearing destruction devices, a few new bosses and a whole new zone. It's the opposite of all those ea games I've seen that update a few times and then... years later.... It's great at this point in time, and I am so down to see where it ends up by 1.0.

  This game has me addicted, the gameplay and graphics are absorbing. The game is satisfying to play as you become more powerful with every reincarnation. However there is still much to be done in the game, for example: character customization, an engaging story/plot instead of blind progress, a better tuturial ( For example there could be a spirit of some sort that guides the player to the teleporter as I was very lost in the beggining). Another recommendation I have is to include more cultivation methods and items from popular Wuxia/Xianxia novels as most players that buy this game will probably come from these novels and want to experience the cultivation world. Overall I would recommend player to buy this game and support the developer, as there is huge potential in this game.

  Very addicting. Easily plays for hours on end. One of the best indie game this year imo. Better controller support is needed. For example, let us freely map attack and spell cast buttons. Get rid of the right stick deadzone - it's too large.

  If you like Xuanhuan and like roguelikes, you will love this. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it is the best, IMO, of the current roguelikes in terms of diversity of play and replayability. Great game at this point, and to see it go even further is exciting.

  I love this game so much~ Can't wait for the next update, which I hope will be soon. If you enjoy room-based roguelikes and you love finding dumb combos with much gamebreaking potential, this game is for you. You're totally getting your money's worth despite the Early Access state. Personally, I've gotten every achievement and unlocked everything available so far. I wish it had taken more, but this is the kind of game you don't really mind replaying just for the fun of it, even after everything is unlocked.

  Binding of Isaac with Chinese characteristics? Honestly that's the best simple summary I can give. Take Wuxia fiction and Cultivation comics, slap them together with an action roguelike/shmup chock full of equipment, build paths, and synergies, shake generously, serve. It's easy to get into and, for a Roguelike, not all that demanding on the player - if you're not good at kiting, there's a shield. If you like lifesteal, there are skills for it. If you like zippy zippy dodge dodge, there's a build for it. Dual wield a giant axe and a spear that casts meteor 10% of the time? Go for it! Builds for all playstyles and skill levels give you no real reason not to complete the game, and there's a fairly constant stream of new stuff being added by the dev. Highly recommend.

  If Vampire Survivors and Binding of Issac had a baby and that baby got super into Xianxia as a teenage shut in it would be this game. It's excellent.
