I feel so fucking betrayed. The main game was quite good and I really enjoyed it. The three DLCs that came out were basically just fucking reused assets and I would not be surprised if interns just made the DLCs while everyone else was on coffee break.

Let me rant for a second. Basically, the DLCs are as bad as everyone says they are. Which surprised me, as Bandai has produced so many great DLCs for other games in the past. There is pretty much no reason to buy them unless Code Vein is literally your favorite on the planet and you truly believe that roughly 30 minutes of gameplay is worth 30$ USD. If you simply *must* buy these, PLEASE DEAR GOD wait for a sale. The whole thing feels like a cheap attempt to give the players more (not new or interesting) gameplay with as little effort as possible. Each DLC is essentially a map of the depths. The first two DLCs had maps *slightly* larger and more interesting than your average map of the depths, however the 3rd DLC took me less than 10 minutes to complete (successful boss kill on first attempt included) and is definitely the worst of the bunch. The only *new* content and the only "pro" is the 3 boss fights. And to be fair, the bosses were pretty good and enjoyable. While all three bosses are quite similar to one another, they differ quite a bit from the bosses in the base game (which were all pretty similar imo so that was nice to see). However, it seems like they put effort into making the first boss, then, for the 2nd and 3rd boss, changed the visual aesthetics of the first without changing the fundamental visual design, kept the basic move-set and then added in some gimmicky additions to that move-set. For example, one boss might have a basic swipe attack, and another might have that same exact swipe attack but with an AOE effect. I think the biggest example of how flawed & slap-dash these DLCs are, is the "Horror Hunting Trials." The Horror Hunting Trials are essentially a list of objectives specifically relating to the boss fights which provide rewards upon completion. For example, one trial may ask the player to beat the boss with a Hammer, and another to beat the boss without getting hit etc. I don't mind this as a concept, however, in this sparse DLC, it reads like a lame attempt to add tedious extra game-play without adding any extra work for the devs. On a very similar note, they added 10 different difficulty levels for the bosses. The difficulty levels do not add new attacks or dialogue. The "new" weapons and blood veils are minimal in number and, well, not new at all. They are *all* existing items in the game with different scaling. Similar situation regarding the "new" enemies, which are literally indiscernible from existing enemies in base game. The new character customization items are a complete joke. You essentially get like 80 different versions of the same sticker to put on your characters face & you can minimally change the appearance of your companion. Like, oh good, that's exactly what I wanted regarding character customization. Whoop de doo. There is essentially no new dialogue or story progression, like, not even an explanation as to why our character is going to these new areas. You do get some *very* short vestige memories for a new and irrelevant side character. The blood codes you get are not especially useful. Only the blood codes acquired from the bosses offer any offensive attacks. While they are unnecessary, the small number of new offensive gifts are kinda cool. I timed how long it took me to complete the 3rd DLC and it was about 9 minutes. That's literally a scam. Bottom line, it's trash. Like actual trash. And I paid for it.

Really tempted to report the season pass for fraud, since they didn't deliver on what they promised. The Exact tweet made by on Nov,23,2019 Braces yourselves, vampiric friends, your trial is far from over! #CodeVein’s DLC 1-3 will include a new story, bosses, customization items and more! All 3 dlcs provide ZERO story content, they only each add a single depth map(3 in total) The boss fights are good but aside from that, everything else are just reskins of the base game, enemies, costumes. Under no circumstances should any sane person buy this at full price.

3 DLC's do not have additional story lines. The maps are basically new Depths maps. The boss's are interesting enough but basically a reskin of one another. That's the bad stuff everyone is moaning about. However, I am someone who only just started playing code vein and while i do have maxxed gear and a pretty decent build im not one of these 2hander players u see on youtube one shotting everything in the game with one ability. So to me, i liked these DLC's. i died a few times, thought the bosses were challenging, found some alternate weapons and armor. My favorite part however, is getting quite a few new blood codes with new abilities and some extra consumable gifts as well. While these DLC's arent groundbreaking by any stretch of the imagination, they did feel worth the purchase TO ME. I want to be able to have tons of blood codes at my disposal to make any kind of character i want and these contain some pretty damn good ones. More damage gifts, caster gifts, AND some interesting support gifts if u intend to do some co-op. One could argue that maybe $30 is a bit steep for what ur getting but i didn't feel as though i was ripped off. Maybe because the other reviews are so nasty i had low expectations but i bought them anyway and i didnt regret it. So take it with a grain of salt.
