  a 2D side-scroller this has a lot going for it. Wow. So it's early access, I haven't played that much & an impressive dip into this game. If a game had an open world THOUGH it were a 2D side-scroller, oh how to describe this. -gothic feeling, -nice graphics, -background music during gameplay IS classic PIANO music, -you do have a usable 'MAP', -i have since acquired a 'WEAPON', I suppose I need to progress more, -there's items to pick up all over, -gameplay reminds of a sort-of GOTHIC RE, -the story is WITCH themed, with spiritual experiences, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2979354862 -there's a narrative to attach to that is to be discovered, an interesting story indeed -'health potion' is a piece of chocolate cake, -at time of writing this review the game has 52 achievements, -i HAVE other Harry Potter games, maybe if you were interested in say Hogwart's Legacy you would be interested in this TOO, though it seems closer along the lines of the themes of say HUNT SHOWDOWN rather, -it has me excited in that it may effectively give me & you a jolly-gaming-time, & I'm finding it unbelievable that this game is in EARLY ACCESS. (maybe you're seeking a sort of standard wording like; 'should i buy this on discount or FULL PRICE' or what, the answer to that is that I'm really impressed what this offers, & saying WHEN IT'S POSSIBLE TO GET IT, DO SO, it's really interesting) So, here is my recommendation. 1000% :)))

  I want to give this a good review, the game is moderately interesting and fun. However the game is crashing every 5-10 minutes making progress nearly impossible. Hopefully this serious issue gets ironed out.

  I can safely say that this game is one of the best Indie projects on the platform and easily deserves to be recognized among the greats of the horror genre. The game is a Gothic Horror Rougelike where you explore a Mansion and the surrounding countryside solving puzzles and fighting the nightmarish creations of a ancient Idol. Wake up and begin the night fighting your way through the mansion earning resources, outfits, spells, weapons, and trinkets to help your character survive the night. But don't worry, when you die you still keep your levels, upgrades, and any items that are "permanent" or "remembered" after making an offering to a shrine. All builds are viable and you are encouraged to go through the exceptional amount of gear to find a combination that's fun for you. The writing in this is some of the best writing i've seen from a game period. From the fantastically written side cast to the page turning story, this is genuinely something i could see replaying to get all the content and different endings available. Is this game good? Frankly no, it's a masterpiece. Buy it now and support this dev, they are dedicated to delivering the best experience possible and very active in the community. With the imminent release into 1.0 I hope for a successful launch and look forward to the devs next project, whatever it may be.

  It's really good. Definitely will be a cult classic in the horror genre. Hopefully it gets more exposure.

  2.5D Metroidvania's, Silent Hill's and Resident Evil's lovechild. Initially it looks kinda generic but unlocks later on really give a variety for customisation: outfits, amulets, rings, standard stats, weapons, shields, spells, all the good stuff. Story's there, spooky's there. While not the game of the year contender, the price really really justifies the purchase. Edit: some puzzles can go f themselves.

  Was initially turned off by the Early Access tag, but gave it a chance after seeing a few videos. I've Played for a few hours and it's actually a really well made game. Only just started chapter 2, but Chapter 1 had no issues. It's got some good game mechanics, and it's not too punishing. Lots of shortcuts open up making death not very frustrating. Good start.

  Always wanted a game like this. Like a PS2 Survival Horror but in a roguelike setting. It's very polished with a great aesthetc. Hit boxes need some work but so far it's looking good, can't wait to see how this game develops because so far it's very solid.

  I'm massively impressed. In a sea of derivative and generic haunted house horror games this really stands out. It cherry-picks mechanics from old classic survival horror games Clock Tower, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill and Eternal Darkness and blends them all together in a truly striking manner. It's alive, unique , very atmospheric, delightfully creepy, truly beautiful to look at and wonderfully written. A tale of a dream that's a place, of witches and vengeful undead that plays out almost like a puzzle box as all truly great locations in survival horror games do. Not since the original Resident evil game have I encountered such an expertly and intricately crafted venue for such shenanagins. The 2.5D graphics are really well done , with some truly impressive flourishes and the soundtrack is superb: It starts with some fantastically morbid baroque music and then quickly slides into the darkly psychedelic. The game mechanics are clear, simple but create a world of possibility, strategy and possible solutions for any given problem. When you add the semi rogue-like , almost bloodborne-esque death mechanics and the procedurally generated maps that create an ever shifting play area, not to mention the excellent bestiary it makes for a truly unique experience. The puzzle mechanics are just right, the story is very interesting and for several other reasons "Withering Rooms" reminds me of my time in Yharnam. The controls are fluid, responsive and both the hiding and combat are very smooth and well done. All in all an absolutely stunning piece of work and nothing that I've seen so far would even suggest that this game is actually in early access. There's a talented team here, whose future games I will follow with great interest as I don't think that it's overkill to say that this is pretty much, for my tastes, the best horror game you can buy on steam right now. The price is criminally low too. If you like intelligent horror games, then you are almost assured to enjoy this. I normally don't review a game until I've spent more time with it, but I am just so knocked out by this that my enthusiasm forced me to break my rule. Destined for greatness.
