Rogue Legacy 2 Funciones

Rogue Legacy is back! But now it's got a 2 on the end of it!

Rogue Legacy 2 is a genealogical rogue-LITE. That means it has all the trappings of a typical rogue-like (randomized runs, changing characters, and more), but with persistent upgrades, and persistent dead heirs. In this game, your legacy defines you. Spend your parents’ inheritance and grow the family manor to give your children a better fighting chance. Each child is unique, with their own traits and abilities. Your daughter could be a Ranger. She could also be vegan. It’s a new experience every time. Rogue Legacy 2 also lets you play how you want to. Go hard and fast, and dive deeper into the depths of a randomly-generated world. Or take it slow and steady and build your character up until you’re ready for greater challenges.

Every Adventure is Unique

New monsters, new traps, and new layouts await you every time you enter the Kingdom. This is a world where improvisation, and not memorization is the key to success.

Wildly New Classes

No two classes play the same. Hide atop Ivy Canopies as the Ranger, and rain poisoned arrows down onto your foes. Take to the skies as a Dragon Lancer and fly across the skies striking foes at massive speeds. Or sing and dance through your enemies, as the joyous bard, leaving only a trail of bodies behind you. Rogue Legacy 2 supports 15 new classes, with 15 distinct styles of play.

Brand New Style

We’re taking a whole new artistic approach to Rogue Legacy 2. The sequel features 2.5D stylings, with 3D characters against hand-drawn backdrops. The art uses heavy shading and all animations are done using stepping techniques to keep the familiar RL look and feel.

Revamped Biome Generation

We went all-out with biome generation to make each area in RL2 feel completely new. Each biome adopts different “build strategies” to create completely unique yet-still-randomly-generated regions.

True Metroidvania

To really push the metroidvania flair, RL2 introduces heirlooms: special items that permanently give your heroes new abilities that fully reveal the world’s secrets. These are not basic lock-in-key abilities, but powers that fundamentally change how you play. And heirlooms are not simply handed to you. You must prove your worth, provided you can find them.

Traits 2.0

Though fun the first time, the traits in RL1 often wore their welcome later in the game. We’ve now added gold modifiers to entice players to take on new challenges. The more debilitating the trait is (in-game), the bigger the reward. This makes choosing your heirs a meaningful decision every time.

Relics and Resolve

One of the most exciting new features to Rogue Legacy 2 is the ability to pick up Relics, which are unique items that change how your run is played. Gain stat modifiers, complete special challenges, and even gain brand new abilities as you traverse the kingdom. But be careful, the more Relics you obtain the more your resolve is shaken, and all Relics are lost if your hero perishes.

Improved Accessibility

We’ve taken accessibility to the next level with the introduction of House Rules. Toggle contact damage, tweak global damage and health, and even give yourself flight for difficult platform sections. You have complete control over how you want to play the game. We’ve also introduced new mechanics such as Off-shore Banking to give struggling players more ways to succeed.

A Rich Narrative

Not only is the lore to the world of Rogue Legacy greatly expanded in the sequel, but it runs deep. New lore awaits you all the multiple NG’s in. Beating the game once is only the beginning. Learn about the inevitable collapse of a once thriving kingdom, and discover the dark secrets of the ones responsible. And connect and build relationships with the characters you meet along the way.

New Game+ for Days

Your journey has only begun after beating the final boss in RL2. There is a ton more to explore and discover on multiple playthroughs. You must choose how the game gets harder, from unique biome hazards, to special boss fights. The experience keeps changing for near infinite replayability.

More of Everything

Of course we’re also adding more of everything people loved from the original Rogue Legacy. More traits, more spells, more classes, more biomes, more enemies, more equipment, more rooms, more story. More secrets... Just more everything.

Clownanthropy.

Holy smokes! Punching clowns!

AND THERE'S A WHOLE LOT MORE. This only scratches the surface of what Rogue Legacy 2 has to offer. Scar Challenges, Fairy Rooms, the Curio Shoppe, the list goes on, but reading is for nerds. Go out and discover the world of Rogue Legacy 2 for yourself!

Everything in this game seems to be designed to mess with you. Most relics are useless and collecting too many will reduce your maxHP, lvling up makes you feel weaker, challenge lvls have pick-a-door style dead end trolls ... And the grind. It's like playing a clicker, but instead of clicking you have to run through a maze full of monsters. But at least there are a lot of adjustable difficulty settings, +1 for that. Seems like the devs knew it was more pain than fun.

I've played a lot of roguelikes, a lot of platformers, and a lot of difficult games, even many bullet hells. Rain World, an infamously unfair, difficult, and punishing game, is one of my favorites of all time. I don't think Rogue Legacy 2 is well balanced or playtested, at least not in the first couple hours. There's a tip that shows up when you die sometimes that says "All enemy attacks are avoidable! Try dodging without attacking for a while" or something very similar. This might be true if you're facing enemies one on one, but some of the rooms in the very first area can be just comically packed with enemies. Even a bunch of basic enemies can cloud the screen with so many projectiles and hazard areas that it feels like one of the more sadistic Mario Maker levels, and then sometimes you'll be put into a challenge room with champion enemies, which have more health, more damage, more projectiles, and often other strong buffs. More than once I've been locked into a room that is so hopeless I just give up before I actually die, because the enemy attacks are just so comically overwhelming, and at the rate I'm damaging them I would have to dodge with inhuman perfection for several minutes to kill them. I like a challenge, and I quite enjoyed the difficulty of the first game, but here it feels like they either didn't do enough playtesting, or that the intention is for me to just grind early deaths to farm gold to upgrade the castle for hours before attempting to beat any bosses. The actual gameplay feels good to control, but it's like the devs gave you a limited toolset -- your dash button doesn't go through projectiles, and just about every action you can perform has heavy commitment -- but then forgot about that and designed the enemies as though you're playing Dead Cells, with massive freedom of movement and easy projectile dodging. I hope the game gets another balance pass, because right now it feels needlessly punishing and not rewarding. I haven't even ventured past the first area, because things start immediately doing 40%+ more damage, and it's obvious that I shouldn't be there.

Excellent gameplay, as many have pointed out here. However, I want to address one thing: the difficulty settings. Specifically, Rogue Legacy 2 is a rogue-like that caters to boomers like me, who now no longer have any semblance of reflexes or hand-eye coordination, but who like the idea of playing a rogue-like. This is not a game that turns its nose up at players who lack the skill to play a difficult game and insist they ‘gitgud’ at it – instead, it takes steps to provide various difficulty sliders and settings to allow players to adjust the game to their skill level (including even reducing the platforming difficulty). While the game recommends you play at the default difficulty settings, I turned it all down to the minimum and I’m having a blast (and I still find it plenty challenging). I regret nothing. I want to acknowledge that the developers took steps to include even losers like me when making their game. 10/10 would recommend to boomers who like the concept of rogue-likes, but lack the actual skill to play them properly

A quick look at my play time should be enough but just in case: yes, this game is worth every penny. The platforming is top notch. Take it from someone that usually sucks at that. You'll find yourself jumping, spin kicking and dashing in and out of harm's way with the grace of a swan. A dangerous, armed (and sometimes dwarf) swan. The combat is just as good. It flows naturally and it will make you think you're better at video games than you actually are. And with 15 classes, each with their own weapon and talent, it's also varied and you'll be sure to find your match. The story is also fantastic. Every journal entry or memory will shed more lights on the history of the kingdom and you'll find yourself empathizing with even its most dangerous denizens. And to top it off all, the visuals are beautiful and detailed, and the soundtrack full of bangers.

Rogue Legacy 2 is a phenomenal platformer, roguelite, and action game. I confidently recommend it to anyone who has ever enjoyed any of the above. The core gameplay is polished and consistent. Movement feels perfect, from your first jump arc all the way through to advanced acrobatics in the late game. The weapons are incredibly diverse; there’s truly something for everyone. Each class’s kit is fully featured and well balanced, and you can swap out bits from Curio Shoppes in the world for some truly memorable runs. The game actively encourages and rewards trying everything out, but you’re also given tools that let you focus on your favorites if you so choose. It’s everything a sequel should be, and more. It’s completely comprehensible to players who’ve never heard of Rogue Legacy before, while including enough familiar elements to welcome back existing fans and improving on basically everything in the original. The 2.5D graphics are expressive and readable, and allow some striking lighting effects from time to time. The soundtrack is phenomenal, establishing an appropriate emotional tone from your humble beginnings through to the thrilling conclusion. The lore is surprisingly deep and worth exploring. The boss design is complex, fun, and fair. Upgrades are player-directed and full of impactful choices to sculpt your own playstyle. The economy is well-balanced, making each run matter and appropriately rewarding highly successful runs, without feeling too grindy. The new game plus system doesn’t just increase numbers, but offers new challenges and modifiers for you to choose from and new lore to discover. From top to bottom, the design is strong. Rogue Legacy 2 follows in its predecessor’s footsteps in rewarding mastery, but it’s also been designed with the new player experience in mind. The baseline experience is approachable, but the House Rules system gives you plenty of freedom to tweak the difficulty. If it’s too punishing for your liking, you can lower enemy health and damage, disable contact damage entirely, or enable limitless flight to bypass a troublesome platforming section. Want more of a challenge? Strengthen your foes, and increase the Burden requirements for NG+ runs. House Rules are designed to be turned on and off at a whim, with no penalties to progression/achievements, and the system makes the game truly accessible to everyone without compromising the core play experience. And of course, like any good roguelite the difficulty naturally corrects itself as you upgrade your stats between runs. Rogue Legacy 2 deserves your time. You can feel the development team’s passion in ways large and small while playing, and it consistently rewards you for playing and exploring. It’s my most-played singleplayer game on Steam, and I’m nowhere near done with it.

I was a huge fan of the first Rouge Legacy. At first, I was hesitant about buying into an early access product, but the content that is already available is well worth the $20 asking price. It is shaping up to be a fine game. A true elevation of the addicting, rouge-lite formula Cellar Door created back in 2013. So, far the biggest difference here is the classes. In the first game, the classes were mechanically interchangeable; they were only really differentiated by their stats--i.e., the mage class had a larger mana pool while the barbarian class had a larger health pool--and a special ability that ranged from situationally useful to absolutely useless. Aside from this, every class played the same: a melee attack paired with a random spell, which was sometimes a projectile and sometimes not. Now, in Rouge Legacy 2, in addition to variations in stat distribution, each class has their own distinct weapons with their own strengths and weaknesses: For example, the gunslinger class gets a pistol that rapidly fires projectile, but its range is limited and it needs to be reloaded at regular intervals. The barbarian class, for its part, is given an axe. The axe does tremendous damage while on the ground, but the animation is purposefully slow and the barbarian cannot move and strike at the same time. The axe can also be used in the air, which causes your character to spin himself clockwise for as long as he remains in the air, dealing damage to any enemy caught in axe's rotation but doing significantly less damage than the ground attack. Also, axe attacks made in the air do not regenerate mana like ground attacks do. I love this, forcing the player to trade raw power for mobility, and visa versa. Good stuff. This kind of mechanical variation between classes makes each run far more exciting than the last game, and I think that is a worthy enough improvement on its own. But, Cellar Door has also added a host of new traits for your heirs--buffs and debuffs--to further flesh out the experience. Do you want, for example, a barbarian class heir who gets a 90 percent boost to gold gain, but who is also a vegan who is literally harmed by eating the meat that normally heals everybody else? It's a funny choice, yes, but it is also a meaninful choice. Really impressed by the game design here. For the most part, the risk/reward factor built into each decision is finely tuned. My major complaint right now is the need for some rebalancing between the classes. For example, the archer class is practically useless in the face of the gunslinger class. Like yes, the archer has stronger projectiles and he can fire them farther than the gunslinger can his, but these projectiles take a painfully long time to fire and move in an arc that requires an extra second or two of forethought. The gunslinger can fire projectiles at a much faster rate in a reliably straight line. He is just better suited for the kind of fast paced reaction time this game demands, especially in the more difficult areas. Overall, though, I recommend. Good stuff.

I rarely leave game reviews. But I felt it would be criminal of me to not share my experience with this game. If you're cheap like me, spending $20 may have kept you from buying this game for a couple months. Listen to me. BUY THIS GAME. It is SO much fun. Such a radical improvement in terms of depth over the first. They have classes now which each come with a play style and a strategy. It feels perfectly balanced. It is sufficiently challenging to keep me engaged, but not so challenging as to frustrate you (although I DID just die just before unlocking a chest :( They have really expanding the ability to permanently improve your character. More skills and upgrades, and even relics which give you amazing bonuses in a single run. I love the music. Music is SO, SO important. Music saves games. Very varied tunes all throughout this game. Many points for the nostalgia built into the game. You kept many elements of the original game, making this truly feel like a series. You officially have a brand, and it's awesome. Because I am such a nostalgia junkie, maybe one thing I would like to see is more of the original style of art work. However I respect the creative expansion of your work. By the way I love the first. I got into at least double digits in + games. Such a fun game. I can see myself having hundreds of hours of fun with this game. Good bye productivity. By the way I'm a tax specialist. Would love to help you guys keep taxes low because you should make a ton of money from this game. A uniquely fun experience. Again, if you're on the fence with this one, buy this game. Plus they are working hard to add even more content, so the game will just keep getting better. $20. Hundreds of hours of fun. What the actual F, pull out that credit card!
