  So I played this waaaaay back as a free flash game and it was amazing when it first came out. Really big game for the time and fabulous graphics with actually interesting cinematics. If you try and find it online today, it's sad that the voice work has been removed. When I saw it on here, I kinda rejoiced. It's not terribly long, or complicated, but somehow everything just fits right. It's a nice, honest, and surprisingly solid little adventure game. Thankfully, the game's been remastered a bit. The graphics aren't much better, but they are slightly improved. Some new voice work. It's about as quality as its previous iteration but I actually like it a lot. It somehow strikes me as fitting in spite of it being rather deadpan. I miss the character portraits though. Anyhoo, the game doesn;t have too much additional content compared to its free counterpart, so it's up to you whether you want this experience, or the slightly less in-depth one. The differences aren't worth the price tag, but if you've got the cash, I'd recommend the buy. The game's solid and I'd love to see the developers get some support and make a new game. They definitely got some talent for it. All in all, I'm quite happy with my purchase and would suggest it, though for obvious reasons it's not for everbody.

  I found this to be a surprisingly enjoyable short P&C game. I took a little under two hours to finish, moving at a slow pace (and that may have included a few minutes of time afk while I heated up dinner). That said, it might be a little steep for a $10 price tag at that length, considering there isn't a lot of replay value. Even the achievements are mostly unmissable story-based ones and can be completed in one go-through. That said, I would completely recommend on sale, even a minor sale. It's an enjoyable little game and I've paid three times as much at a movie theater for two hours of much worse entertainment. Puzzles are relatively easy but not complete pushovers. Visuals are quite nice and the atmosphere of the alien planet, deserted camps, and crashed ships was appealing. Voice acting was not bad at all (not A-list or anything, but not painful like so many have been). I would have liked more story development, especially with some revelations near the end that ended up leaving unanswered questions, but overall it was a decent survival story. The ending cinematic was rather nicely done to finish off the game. I enjoyed myself and found it a relaxing but interesting evening's work to play from start to finish.

  Nice and simple point and click adventure. Decent-ish story with solid game play that does the genre right. Puzzles are pretty simple but still enjoyable. I'd say the $10 mark is a little high for this, I picked it up around $2 and found I got my money's worth. If you're a fan of the genre and have a few hours to explore the secrets of Deadrock (especially if you can grab it while on sale), you won't be disappointed. Also Novak...you owe me a beer!

  For the seasoned fan of point-and-click graphical adventures, this game could provide a reasonable morsel to tide you over between other releases. It was entertaining enough to play for the time it lasted, but it's short (about two hours), the voice acting is abysmal, and the story is not particularly gripping or compelling. The great mysteries of the planet never really get plumbed, many of the puzzles have solutions that strain plausibility, there's an awful lot of pixel hunting (the only part I finally looked up in a walkthrough turned out to hinge just on me having not seen a hot spot on the screen -- once I was alerted to that, it was fine), and not LOTS of try-this-with-that, but not none either. All of these design issues will be familiar to, and probably reasonably okay with the seasoned fan as mentioned above, but likely frustrating to anyone who isn't used to dealing with such things regularly. I did enjoy playing it for the evening it took, but I suspect within a couple of months I won't remember that it existed.

  It's a fun time waster. But only buy it on sale. It's only gonna provide two hours of entertainment, and you will never play it again. Wish there was more to it than this, but it was a fun two hours

  BottomLine at the Top: Alyssa-Black, fellow member of our point and click fan steam group the Coalition of Point and Clickers (check us out!), described this as a "Solid, decent adventure". I think this sums up the game nicely! Pickup only on sale as its regular asking price does not justify its very short playtime. Pros ------------------------------------- -Starts right up, zero messing with resolution settings. -It's a first-person perspective sci-fi P&C game that right off the bat reminds me of Mission Critical, which is a nostalgic title for me and a high quality underappreciated classic point and click adventure game. -Interesting object highlight function. It gives a feel like it’s an integrated HUD in the main characters space suit. It also mostly negates frustrating pixel hunting. -I was surprised at the lack of intro when starting up the game. However, once you start a new game in the main menu it proceeds to have a very intense cutscene intro which really sets the tone for the game. -Very good in game hint system. -Puzzles vary from easy to medium difficulty keeps a steady game flow and the hint and object highlight feature prevent any major frustrations. -Detailed 3d art style. -Atmospheric original soundtrack. -Easy to get full achievement completion. Meh. ------------------------------------- -No save slots, autosave only. This is a game meant to be finished in one sitting so it’s not as big an issue. Cons ------------------------------------- -Good quality voice recordings, however, the two voice actors’ performances are only passable. The captain is mostly decent. However, the main character has this almost condescending tone in his voice like he's annoyed that he has to narrate the game. It's almost funny, but I think this game could have done with a better performance for a main character. -Minimal animations. The engine that made the cutscenes is the same that made the backgrounds for the various game locations/rooms. When they play it’s almost like a tease of how much more interactive this game could have been made with more in game animations. -As a few other reviews have mentioned, some plot points remained unresolved. It really feels like the story and gameplay could have been expanded upon. -Which brings me to my final con, it's too expensive for 90 minutes of gameplay. As she said, this is a solid, decent sci-fi P&C. At $10 for only 90 minutes of gameplay, I cannot recommend this at full price. Mission Critical, a 20-year-old game with similar story and mechanics but many more hours of gameplay can be purchased for roughly half the price of this one. If you are a P&C fan, this title won't disappoint but I'd put this on my Wishlist and wait for a good Steam sale.   This is a classic adventure game which is 2-3 hours long. The main character narrates almost everything he is doing, which helps to better understand what you have to do; but the voice is pretty monotonous. You can always get hints about what you have to do next so it's unlikely you can get stuck too badly. While you do have to move the mouse over object areas to find the useful objects/interactions, those areas are pretty large so it's not too bad.
