  As much as I want to put some kind of joke here, I have nothing that can express how I feel after playing Lisa. This is the greatest game I've ever played. 10/10, would lose my arm for Terry again.

  Never in my life have I ever experienced anything that has changed me emotionally as profoundly as LISA: The Painful. The lore is dense, incredibly well thought out, and original. Every part of the story has dry humor to parse the great loss the protagonist experiences throughout the game. LISA: The Painful rewards players willing to explore with ways to strengthen their party, or an interesting or funny exchange of dialogue. This game is very immersive, and you truly feel what Brad feels at a high level. In The Painful, you can even unlock a variety of different characters who each have their own interesting backstories and traits. The game is well worth its price tag, and is far longer than many other indie titles. LISA: The Painful ends in a climactic and beautiful, yet tragic scene. Pure joy (reference intended). I would recommend it to all gamers, even those who only play video games for satisfaction despite the dark themes exhibited within LISA: The Painful.

  TL;DR: if you can handle the themes, buy this RPG. LISA handles a number of objectively awful and crude topics with pleasantly surprising dignity and grace. With the use of an unreliable narrator in a world of black-and-grey morality, a full play-through is a brilliant example of theatre of complicity. The game invites the audience early on to make decisions about their own righteousness… then begins to reveal more frequent situations where there might not be a kind way out. (But it's still okay! 'Cause you're still the Good Guys™!) The dark humor is consistently well placed and well executed, breaking the tension when it's needed most. An excellent foil to Undertale - especially if you enjoyed the pacifist run as much as I did.
