Fear the Night - 恐惧之夜 Funciones

In Fear the Night, you are a survivor in a world plagued with zombies. The remnants of humanity must fight to survive the zombie onslaught in this sandbox survival horror. Team up with other survivors and work together to rebuild society from its ashes or choose to trust no one and go your own way in a lawless world.

FEATURES

  • Day-Night Cycle: Scavenge as many resources as you can during daytime to prepare for nightfall, when zombies become more aggressive and perceptive. Take shelter and avoid being caught out in the open when it gets dark.

  • Reclaim Occupied Facilities, Destroy Zombie Caves, and Restore Order: Many facilities from before the apocalypse remain in good working order, and must be reoccupied to access unique resources. A vast network of caves also exists, and strategically sealing them off from zombies can ensure that an occupied territory is a safer place to carve out a living.

  • Zombie Awareness: Zombies target their prey in a variety of ways. Beyond mere sight they also use advanced hearing and smell to help them find you when you’re hiding. To survive, you will need to know how to remain undetected.

  • Hack Robot Companions: Before humanity was nearly wiped out, they developed autonomous robotic defenses to combat the threat of the undead. They continue to carry out their job, except they are exterminating zombie and survivor alike. Find out how to hack into their systems, and they will aid you in survival. Mostly by not killing you.

  • Survival: Scavenge and hunt to keep yourself fed, and craft medicine to stave off the ever-present infection.

    1) The game is abandoned. 2) That's why only 1 player / all servers. 3) Arcade gameplay and game mechanics, very close to asian style MMORPG. 3rd person only. 4) Very poor map details. It's could be OK for the voxel world (like 7D.T.D.), but it's not OK for such project. 5) Unappropriate level up and new crafting blueprints depending on it. You need to be level 4 to make a simple storage box. Unbalanced. 6) There could be plenty of zombies (over 50-100 on the teaser videos) but I didn't saw such hordes myself. 7) Very simple and limited building opportunities. 8) Very poor fighting, animation, models, even icons. 9) It's not interesting or fun. I saw the same reviews dated from 2018 year. Don't waste your time.

This game has the holy trinity of what you'd expect from a terrible game: Zombies. Survival. Early Access. But let me tell you, this is definitely the most solid of this type of game that I've played, and I've pretty much played them all. We experienced virtually no bugs or glitches and were able to progress decently throughout our first night of playing. As you level up, you outgrow areas and move on to new zones similiar to how you would in an MMORPG, so the game stays challenging consistently. New enemies are introduced and while the game is technically open world, you definitely won't be able to go too far out of your comfort zone without getting killed by the higher level zombies and creatures in the more difficult areas. If you're considering whether or not to get this, it's more than worth it's current price, and becomes much better with friends to play with. Overall: 8/10 and this is the first day of Early Access.

Wait for fixes **Multiple Updates 2/25/19** I wrote the above while pretty angry over an in-game mechanic which I'll dive into soon. I felt the need to come back and update this with the full story of why I gave this a DNR, as I initially was enjoying myself. I'll just get straight to the bad,
The stamina/water drain
This one is kind of obvious. As with most survival games, sprinting or otherwise consuming stamina reduces your food (in this case predominantly water) over time. The problem is there is no clean water source readily available early game, and boiling jarred water taken an immense amount of time, something you are seriously lacking in. Drinking contaminated water will greatly increase your infection, which can be off-set with relatively easy to find pink/purple flowers. Unfortunately these flowers work over time and infection can quickly become deadly. I often found myself simply suiciding and respawning rather than waste precious time attempting to craft clean water and reduce infection.
The day length
I'm sure (hope) this will change but at it's current state the days are laughably short. I often found myself defending my base from the night's horde. As soon as the sun would rise I would begin repairing my traps and weapons, gathering resources to replenish my arrows and such until OH LOOK! It's night again. It is very challenging to go it alone, which brings me to the group mechanics.
Group mechanics
There are none. Seriously. You can invite people to a "Squad" so that you can see each other on the map (and presumably not damage each other although I haven't confirmed). That's it. You can't build together, you can't share xp from kills, you can't even place a storage box in a squadmates shelter. This forces groups to either choose a leader or attempt to manage manpower over multiple shelters (see day length) If you elect to choose a leader you may be faced with the unfortunate situation of needing to use a workbench, or simply get out of the base. Better hope that the leader is online, if not, you are locked in without the ability to use the workbench (although doors can be pin-coded) I frequently encountered a bug in which I would invite a friend to a squad, only for him to say he hasn't received an invite. Yet the game would show he was invited on my end, preventing me from sending or accepting an invite from him.
Item Durability
I touched on this above about the time needed to repair traps and weapons. They just aren't durable enough early game. The bow is by far the best weapon to start out with at a low level. But you better craft at least three for a night horde. They are good for about 30 shots. (est.) This issue is made less of if there are multiple members gathering and sharing resources, this is more of a solo player issue.
Fast Travel
***UPDATE 2*** I have since been contacted by a developer and informed that this is in fact a bug and not an intended mechanic. I will leave the previous review unchanged but know the fast travel mechanic is in fact not intended ******************* This is what soured my opinion of this game. I hosted my own dedicated server so that I could play solo (as of the time of writing solo mode is not available). The first thing I did was increase the day length by x3 and this made the game much more enjoyable, with a slight boost to harvesting to off-set the solo struggle I was having a great time. Then I started trying to explore. I found myself a nice base in zone 9, the final(?) zone. The base was fairly remote but close enough to an area I was gathering immense amounts of loot from. After encumbering myself with as much assault rifle ammo as I could carry and returning to the base and storing it all. I thought I would return to my starter shelters and see how they were faring. I used the map that is available in all shelters to fast travel and selected my first shelter, the screen went black, and I was right where I was standing before. Only there was no shelter. It was all gone. The entire shelter (2 story house with 6 storage chests filled with roughly 5000 rounds of ammunition as well as armor and other high level resources) was all gone. I initially thought this was a bug and laughed through grit teeth about early access, only to voice this on the official Discord and be informed this is an intended mechanic. Shelters have a chance (apparently a pretty high one at that) to "break" when using fast travel. So if you want to explore, never, ever fast travel. I think the game has potential, but this has been a rocky first week. Players should not have to beg for patch notes, they should be posted before a patch is even released. I understand game development can be hectic, but this so far has just been a mess. TLDR; wait for fixes. **Final Update** Game is dying. No official communication in weeks and no patches. Do not purchase unless you are okay with spending money on an unfinished product that will likely remain that way.

Solid foundation for a good game, but right now it's just terribly frustrating. Every time I log off, even for a day, I come back to instant death, my shelter being lost (including everything I was storing in the shelter and all the workbenches in my shelter), and having to respawn back at the start. This game doesn't seem to want to allow you to progress very efficiently. Until that's fixed, I'll be sitting this one out. Not having persistence in an online game like this is the epitome of frustrating. I will update this in a month or so when I check it out again. If the persistence issues are fixed then I can change my recommendation at that time.

I have to say, after 100 hours of gameplay I am still addicted. It was def worth the money, for me, because these types of game are right up my alley. After H1Z1 closed down I struggled to find anything that compared to it, until this came out. For an EA game you always expect a lot of issues, and there are issues, but it's always being updated and the devs are listening. This game has both PVE and PVP in the same server, or if you like, you can find a PVE only server and explore all the PVP zones without being KOS'd or damaged by other players. (Just dont lob a grenade at your feet cause you will probably die). Overall, if you ever played H1Z1, 7 Days to Die, The Forest, or any other survival/apocalypse game, then you will probably enjoy this.

Ok so we have been searching for a survival game that can immerse us into its world like ark and 7 days to die did for some time. FEAR THE NIGHT is that game.. from the very 1st time i started this game and played it, it ran smooth with very few graphical flaws or gameplay issues. for a $15 early access game that is a major surprise. The premise of the game is obviously the same as most zombie survival games that are out there but for some reason this game feels different and fresh. The world seems to be very massive and the possiblilities are almost endless. I love the fact that building isnt really in this game outside of defenses and such because building after awhile gets old and takes up majority of the time you spend playing. You wanna build up a base that can protect and stock your inventory of goodies but you also want to explore the vast world and find cool new stuff. You can have multiple shelters (bases) throughout the world that all hold different keys to yours and if you play with friends there survival. Traveling between the shelters is done via fast travel but costs you some food or water not to big of a deal. The overall melee and gunplay is actually pretty good and very easy to get used to.The crafting is by far one of the best parts because even tho its a $15 game it has a ton to craft and plenty for you to save up to get. i have 24 hours so far and i have not been bored yet and i will continue to enjoy this great game throughout the process of early access. The only thing i dont like is we paid for a server and we should be able to adjust everything in the game to our liking and it will not allow us to do so. The zombie run faster then us even in day time and it makes it really hard to go out and explore because you cant outrun them and its easy to get overtaken by 30 zombies. please look into fixing that issue but other then that this game should be in every persons library if your a zombie survival fan.

I've enjoyed the game from the very start. I enjoyed it in the first hour of game play. Survival games are my thing and this one was fun enough that i can't wait for the bridge to open to the next zone. Everything is good so far and i know bugs will be improved. Issues: 1) Shooting any gun at close range is difficult, one has to move the mouse cross hair to the left of the zombie. 2) Owning a house in pvp zone which was 1 story gave me an issue where if i teleport from any house to it, would make the house disappear (The one you teleport from) and supposedly you teleport but you stay in the same place without seeing that house. In order to change that, you have to jump or relog in order to finalize teleportation. 3) Not enough players play this game? In order to take over Checkpoints you have to have enough people and grenades. For now there's not enough players. The pvp zones dont work well, since people have to take over check points they become friends and then nobody wants to pvp. :) I never wanted pvp anyway. 4) I wish updates were come up more often. There's maybe a few other issues, but with them active i still had a lot of fun and they weren't as frustrating as Apex is crashing and also effecting crashes and mouse sensitivity on other games. Other than that i have no beef. Keep up the good work Team! I'll be back!

Avoid this asset flip, cash grab, loosely disguised as a game. I got on board early as friends recommended it, and zombie games are my jam Feel free to check my Steam library for just how many I have. I played it a bit and thought, not bad. This game needs much more time before release, but it has a good amount of potential... Potential that will never be realized. As of today 17.07.2019 they have announced that they are leaving Early Access for Version 1.0. this game is without a doubt still at the alpha stages of development. I'd call it half baked, but it's not even that. It's raw. There's surely worse dumpster fires in the Steam catalogue than this game, however that's not an excuse to add fuel to the fire Snail. You can get a lot more for you gaming funds if you look elsewhere. Here's a good start https://store.steampowered.com/app/914620/Mist_Survival/ it's cheaper and better. Even with a lone developer working on it too at that.

I really wanted to like this game from the start. It's something akin to 7DTD or Ark, but suffers from problems that the devs have seen fit to ignore. Starting a single player game should be a 1 button push from the main menu, yet it's not. At present, there are almost no players across any servers (10 minutes ago, there were 7 people, myself included, across all servers scanned). I started my own single player, and was mowed down by the first zombie i found (not my first time playing the game, mind you) because the only thing that would hit it was a rock, while a torch or club passed right through it. This says nothing about the absolutely wonky way that the game itself plays. To be honest, it's a hot mess. I can't even list all of my problems with this game, because no one would ever read that much text. This game had decent potential, but i highly doubt the devs will ever actually make it into a player-friendly version. Maybe playing with other people is more fun, but i dont have anyone to do that with here, and any servers that did have people were PvP, for which i have zero interest. The starter area is (let's be honest) jacked up. Not even being able to swing a tree branch at something until level 2 just makes no sense, and so on. I can say at some point, i got my 15 dollars worth, but just barely. I cannot recommend this game to anyone looking for titles such as this. You're better off going to (or back) to 7 Days to Die.
