Hell, I love this game!!!! Has hidden objects & really works my mind. It's nothing like those stupid games on Pogo.com my mother trys to get me to play. I really enjoyed this game & it's also goes with the few games that actually keeps my attention & interest well enough to play it all the way through. I've been playing games since a kid when Nintendo, Segs Dreamcast, even Atari came out on Doctors recomendations due to a consitration & focusing problem I have. So, even as a 37 year old it's still hard to find games to help with those problems when they actually can't keep your interest long enough. I will recommend this game especially for those who have the same problems I do.

Okay.... I have finished both games now. They are REALLY disappointing. I am a fan of previous Dracula games, but those two are just not in the same level. The narration is extremely bad, while the story is also dull and way too short, which makes these two games like an incomplete demo of a real Dracula game. Even the puzzles in these two are too easy for players to get satisfied. There are also merely any interesting historical reference in these two games like this serie used to have. Frankly, these games get nothing to hold players' interests. It is really sad to see this great series now becomes something like the Big Fish kids' games. If you liked previous Dracula games, PLZ stay away from these two. Not only because they are expensive, but also because they will ruin your faith of this series.

The developers and designers have really thought this game through. It is a major improvement compared to previous three parts. No bugs, smooth gameplay, interesting story, great graphics, logical puzzles, convenient interface. This game even has in-game achievements and alternative endings. 9/10

This is the only game of the franchise that's sold here as the actual full game, so it's somewhat painfull to me that I have to give it a thumbs down, but complete game or not, it's simply not a good one. And make no mistake: they might have called it Dracula 4 & 5, but it's one game literally just randomly cut in half. It starts somewhat promising. You get to research the theft of a portrait painting as the art restaurateur Elle, who suffers from a life threatening desease affecting her blood and immediately you assume this will turn into a creepy thriller ... but it doesn't. FIrst half is somewhat good, even though it has its silly aspects, but the story becomes more and more idiotic as it progresses without any enticement about what in it you should actually care or worry about and none of the bread crumbs it lays out lead to anything. It's mindlessly glued together tropes from other vampire fiction without any thoughts spent on pacing, developement or at least making sense. You'd expect some sort of pay-off for at least some of what is laid out earlier, but even the title giving Dracula is ... just there at the end and spouts some nonsense about nothing, then it's over. There isn't even any horror. The weirdest thing is certainly the tacked on "medication" mechanic. Your health - remember, you are supposedly ill - regularly drops at scripted events, so you "need" to take pills which you can do in various combinations and they are a limited resource. Not only is this one of the most ridiculous ways chronic desease and medication has ever been depicted in a work of fiction, your health also doesn't affect anything and you don't have to handle your intake in any meaningful way. They probably wanted to emulate survival horror healing items management, but there's no gameplay that would require it, so they literally just randomly tell you "you're sick now, eat some pills" in preselected moments, you do it and play on. The game is also way too short and linear for it to play any important role. You get to experiment and create a list of the combinations' results, but the game (both parts) is over before you even had a chance to take any of the combinations more than once. What was the whole point of it? Worst part of that is, it's not even being used in any meaningful way in the story. Elle reacts to the news about the medicine she requires to live not being manufactured any longer (...) as if she missed the bus and has to take the next one. She's never in distress about her impending decline and inevitable death, in fact it's hardly discussed, and if you thought it being a desease that affects her BLOOD would be of any relevance at some point in a game ABOUT VAMPIRES, you would be mistaken. It's simply used as a motivational hook for her at the very end when Dracula offers her to become his co-reigning vampire queen because she looks like his dead wife, because of course she does. (Eyeroll.) But the thing is, the desease is narratively totally unnecessary in that situation, because she'll get killed by Dracula anyways if she says no. The stakes are "die soon or live forever as a vampire" with or without the desease. As an additional joke, you learn Elle is pregnant (... a day after she had sex ... and she just believes it, because some stranger tells her so, too ...) and this shocking new development is immediately rendered inconsequential by Elle triumphantly saying: "No problem, I won't live long enough to carry it out anyways." Then the topic is off the table. Wh... why was this even in the story? Has anyone writing for this game spoken to or lived as real humans before? Gameplay is mostly alright. If you are glad they didn't cut any puzzles from this one like they did with Dracula 1 to 3, be informed the reason is there aren't all that many puzzles to begin with. It's poorly paced, too, with the game dishing out brainless busywork for most if its time and then placing a sequence of annoyingly obscure riddles one after another at the very end when you're all out of patience and just want this to be over. If I sound overly negatively here, let me protest, because I still liked the game a little. There's bits of effort, especially in the art of the nicely done locations and a few of the puzzles were enjoyable. I also liked how they linked this swiftly to the previous game early in Dracula 4, that was a sweet discovery for those who played 3. (Which you should, it's a great game. Not the Steam version, though.) Still, I can't bring myself to recommend it, even if I'd grant it the badge of mediocracy. It's a "might as well play it when you can get it on the cheap" sort of game, but you won't miss anything if you don't and while it somewhat continues the series' overall story, it doesn't conclude it in any way, so if you wanted some closure ... this will not give it to you.

Bought it on sale, even though it is not worth it. Dracula 4 seem like half of a chapter and 5 maybe a chapter, the game is extremely linear, there is no exploration, the adventure itself is cliche and predictable, eg. you find a device, batteries and cord in the same box, only to combine them in inventory, no real "investigation". the puzzle are annoying and complicated, not because they are hard but because they are tedious. would have loved this game to be really good but that's not the case

First I would like to say that these two games actually work and no glitches. Now the voice sync is way off but do not let that bother you. The puzzles were at times very very hard. But the game allows you to skip them. Sometimes you can see the solution but not completely or to solve it is going to take awhile, for this I am glad for the skip feature. If you like those sorts of puzzles, then this is for you. The storyline was ok and at times a bit cheezy. However overall I am happy with the price I payed for both of them.

Are you bloody kidding...I should have taken heed when reading the reviews for this game. Folks weren't kidding when they said the Steam version was missing alot of content. I went to gameboomers and couldn't figure out why the game and walkthrough didn't make sense. I have only gotten to the very first of the game and already there is a giant chunk that is missing. I have the first three games on CD and really like them, but this sucks! Guess I will have to buy Dracula 4 and 5 on CD so that I can play the whole game. Seems like "Special Steam Edition" means bend over. My review of this game is mixed...feel short-changed, but I do enjoy the Dracula series. My recommendation is get the CDs!

Dracula 4 and 5 already start on the right path before even the game starts. Being sold together is more than necessary for the story of the game. The first evolution noticed is the quality of the graphics that has increased a lot, it is very good. But it cannot be summed up to that. The initial cutscene presents us with a plot different from the standard, which adds new elements that are not usual in games. The main character goes through a health problem related to blood, which makes sense for the plot. The story is captivating and runs away from a love story. Events happen at the present time, and this modernization of the context did not make a story like Dracula loses interest. The puzzles are well developed, very varied, not obvious, the dialogues and texts are not excessive and are very well intercalated between the actions of the game. Play Dracula 5 as soon as you finish Dracula 4!
